  1. Trestman needs to answer for this, he really does.

Sad to say, but we look like the Bears,... just w/o Forte!

Cobra, I was surprised when we didn't take a big 1st Tier RB in the draft but even Gurly's looking pitiful so maybe Allen will emerge into something  I like Taliaferro but he's no Lynch!

I didn't say anything but even I knew that Forsett is not a "Marquee Runningback", and now, w/o the stretch/Zone blocking schemes, we're in it deep!

Too early to predict,.... but, WHOA!

  2. I haven't read anyone else's comments because I've been seething ever since yesterday!

In 2014, we had Gary Kubiak's scheme firing on all cylinders to very great effect. The Run Game heralded the best Raven Offensive team ever!

Okay, Kubiak bolted for Denver and that was crushing but the moment the FO announced that Marc Trestman was the new O.C., Harbaugh and Trestman both said "We're not changing the offense!

They said "We may tinker here and there but we're not changing the offense!"   :love13:

Well, so far, in 3 games, the Offense looks eerily like the Bears' inept Trestman offense!

I'm not seeing any stretch plays, or Zone blocking. If anything, the guys look confused!

It's not all because Monroe's out! Zuttah looks confused and even the pass protection has broken down as if thee guys aren't talking!  :sherlock:

I'm not giving up on us,... but the writing's on the wall when we're getting beat up by the likes of the RAIDERS!  :oldwiseman:

Of course, there's that crew who'll counter my argument with "Hey, Joe threw for over 300 yards, twice!"

    Yay,... //cough// Meh!  <_<

That's probably one of the "Joe threw for 300" crew who negged this before I finished editing it! LOL  :lol3:

  4. Has Trestman tinkered with the run blocking scheme? Sure seems like a downgrade from last year's performance!   <_<

Happy to see that we did get untracked as time went on! Plus, I'm a heck of a lot more comfortable in our young TEs after yesterday's game! The O-Line couldn't handle Denver's speed but they're not the everyday 'Front Sevens' we'll face! I'm encouraged we'll get it together!   :oldwiseman:

Hat's off to former Raven Tyrod Taylor for his first win as starting NFL QB! Some said he'd never start!   :bricks:   Wish him much success, going forward!

  5. I firmly believe that the whole Defense will redouble their efforts in the wake of this news!  I don't think or advise T-Sizzle to make one of those miraculous recoveries the first time around!

We shall see what the future brings for Courtney Upshaw and the young Ravens' linebackers,... :bowdownsmiley:

... just as we're seeing the ramifications for NOT digging down in our purse to find a way to keep the Jared Johnsons, Paul Krugers and Purnell McPhees that we let walk year after year!  :toilet:

P.S. Spare me the "money" lecture!

  6. 1. We haven't had 7 first round picks in that period... we've drafted four first rounders since we drafted Joe in 2008. They are Mosley, Jimmy, Elam and Oher.

I'll grant Oher and Elam as "busts" for the most part so far, so we're at 50% with first round picks currently. Overall, particularly given that the ADP of those four picks was 25th, that's pretty solid.

Now, if your goal was to include the draft picks we obtained by giving up our first round picks, it would look like this:

2010: We traded our first round pick for three players: Sergio Kindle (bust), Ed Dickson (bust), and Dennis Pitta (not a bust).

2012: We traded our first round pick for two players: Courtney Upshaw (not a bust) and Gino Gradkowski (bust).

So, we basically traded two players for five players. So had we not made those trades, and drafted just the players who weren't busts, would you have called them bad picks? If we took Pitta in the 2010 first round and Upshaw in the 2012 first round, would you have considered them to be busts?

I wouldn't, given where the draft position was.

You must be speaking the truth, four have negged you! It irritated me that we traded our 1st Rd pick for Courtney, developed him, then let him walk!

  7. We have a bunch of young Receivers AND Steve Smith, the Sr. We have coaches and we have a philosophy of "run First"! I B)

I Googled this because I wasn't sure what a group of Ravens was called! A group of ravens is called but a "unkindness" or a "clamor" were the two terms I saw.    :baltimore-ravens:

I'm sure we can find a "Finesse Receiver" capable of getting open among this Clamor of Ravens' Receivers!    :oldwiseman:

  8. I can believe Nick Boyle is making an impression,... the TE depth is not like the Receivers and there is no definitive incumbent to unseat; no offense to Crockett Gilmore who "made his bones" last year!   ^_^

I seriously hope, in Darren Waller's case, you're right, Ryan Mink. It was the media who gave us all these glowing reports of the prowess of Tandon Doss, Deonte Thompson, Yamon Figurs , Laquan Williams and David Reed and where are they now?   :34853_shakehead:

Sometimes we need you all in the media to be a bit more objective!   :oldwiseman:

  9. He really did. I hope he wins the starting position up there.

One of my Marine buddies that I played football with lives in Upstate N.Y.

The moment the Bills signed T.T. he sent me a gmail stating how they were thrilled and viewed Tyrod as a "steal" for the price! Evidently, the folks in that region also believe he can start for them and do some great things there!  ^_^

I am intently watching this and hoping for Tyrod's success! He's a class act who found himself in a "no win" situation here as far as playing time and respect was counted.   <_<

He is, however, the bearer of a Super Bowl Ring! :D

  10. cassell or ej Manuel ?

Schaub definitely gave me a little more confidence that if joe went down for a few weeks he could carry us through and hopefully get us a win or 2. I'm sure if that happens many of us will kiss our season goodbye but if our defense is as good as I think it will be all Schaub will have to do is be a decent game manager and put together a few scoring drives and we"ll be fine.

I was being sarcastic about "the name escapes me",... I was definitely IMPRESSED at how Tyrod Taylor handled the Bills' offense!  :oldwiseman:

    Let em fly!  :D
