  1. He's MY GUY,.... hope him much success!
  2. GREAT! Honored, as he should be!!!
  3. So,... let me get this straight! If Breshad Perriman and his fellow WR draftees don't measure up to last year's class then they're trash,... losers? Who cares? I'm rooting for Perriman to not only surpass Torrey's numbers here but to make a name for himself for years to come! It's the TEAM that needs to WIN, not one draft class over another! The TEAM!
  4. The entire Secondary was hit unusually hard by the injury bug! When in the history of the Ravens has one segment of one unit sustained so many season-ending injuries? I can't remember a year! Besides, we were so busy trying to plug in and coach up guys each week that we never got a chance to get them squared away as a whole unit! One could see that it was not the PLAY of the SAFETIES and corners that proved to be our Achilles' Heel,... it was clearly lapses in communication!
  5. Without LaQuan? Certainly,... If LaQuan was instrumental in us winning the SB, then Jacoby Jones was the SB MVP! I must be misunderstanding you because I don't see LaQuan Williams as an intricate cog in our Super Bowl SEASON! What are you getting at?
  6. This reminds me of how lost Paul Kruger looked his first 2 years with the pressure the coaches put on him early on, trying to get Kruger to do so many things! It wasn't until the year before his tremendous final year that the "light bulb" finally came on for Kruger and he was able to sort it all out! I expect this is the case with Matt Elam - we're asking him to perform as a pro player and live up to his billing in two positions in a game faster than he was accustomed and the "bulb" hasn't quite lit for him yet!
  7. Sorry, I see LaQuan Williams redeux,...
  8. Well the article began well enough but I lost interest once you said "[Harbs] wasn't going to name any players that caught his eye,.." ,... ... which, if he did say something, is usually when my eyes glaze over at the hyperbole! Anyway, thankfully, that didn't happen but I'd already cites Nick Perry and Trey DePriest as guys to watch,... Sorry, but, DeAndre Carter, with that description, sounds like LaQuan 2.0 !!! Don't bother to neg,... let's just see what happens when the pads got on!
  9. The road to retirement is littered with the carcasses of "smart guys" in that, as the definition of "insanity" goes, repeated the same behavior seeking a different outcome by playing when everything pointed to "NO"!!! Now that I've said that,... I, too, hope he makes the right decision whether we see him on the field,... or accepting the applause as a retiree!
  10. Seems like all small school UFAs have that wonderful chip on their shoulder!
  11. Can't erase the feeling that Dennis Pitta is gambling with his health! Only HE knows exactly how he feels and it's becoming apparent that he's trying everything he can TO GET BACK ON THE FIELD! With a younger player, and; granted, he's not that old, we wouldn't give it a 2nd thought,... but, IMHO two unusual hip breaks is a WARNING!
  12. Thrilled to see them in the nest! I wonder who breaks out? C'mon, coaches,... give these guys a good "going-over" so that we don't release another James Harrison,... another DPOY or HOF Oh guy!!!
  13. Many try to compare Ed Reed with Troy Polaomalo which makes no sense at all! Troy was a Linebacker playing Safety! Ed Reed was a Center-fielder playing Safety who could do it from Line of Scrimmage to End Zone, sideline-to-sideline! Who was better? Don't even start that - they were both great professionals in their roles, standard-setters, and we were fortunate enough to have Ed as a Raven!
  14. Broadcast booth,... he seemed to be enjoying himself on ESPN with Ray! Whether he'd be available to teach young Ravens his film study secrets may depend upon the CBA,... and whether Harbs can let bygones be bygones!
  15. Placing the name, "Ed Reed" and the word "instinctive" in the same sentence says it all to me - period!
  16. Let's hope success feeds off of each other! I got nothing good to say about Cutler either! He's like Boller w/ and attitude! I'd like to see us take it to the SB like 2 wins in a row but I'd settle for two wins in three years and have Trestman ignoring all the offers that would come! I'd like so continuity on OH!
  17. I'd like to see that happen before he does a Corey Graham too!
  18. I'd like to see him turn in a pro bowl-worthy year and re-nego for a longer contract! We cannot let guys like him and Corey Graham just walk!
  19. I concur, Space11Jams,... and it seems that teams just LOVE to harvest our coaching staff, probably due to the continued success we have! We saw Dick LeBeau stay with that other team for years while we lost Ryan, Pagano and, thankfully, Madison so we do see that sometime there is loyalty to a team and program in the NFL. We are now enjoying defensive success under Dean Pees and nobody's breaking down the door to get at him, and in my opinion, that's to our benefit! BUT,... we needed a near "locker room mutiny" to dynamite a horrible and intrenched Cam Cameron outta here! So, I'd say, let's cautiously see what we got before we decide b/c Da Bears wasn't giving the Pack "what fer" in our NFC counterpart!
  20. Right now, I don't know how the the Players' Association views players like Ray or Ed coming back to their teams and doing some Ad Hoc tutoring, but I'd welcome their input in breaking down film and study habits for our young Ravens! There may be a clause that addresses that!
  21. That's where the "trust" is with me! We're not perfect but if Ozzie & Co picks a guy, I trust they've seen something! Of course, the past additions of David Reed, Deonte Thompson, Laquan Williams, et.al. bench-warming WRs flies in the face of my logic! But, in the final analysis, I'm happy too, bud!
  22. That's exactly what I'm talking about! He may not be NFL-ready, walking in the door, but given some coaching and pre-season games and we'll see if he's up to the speed of the game! Plus, if he makes the squad, he'll get plenty of "scout team" work, I hope!
  23. OUTSTANDING! C'mon home to the nest, Ed! Perhaps he may, in time, join our coaching staff but there's too many money opportunities out there in broadcasting!
  24. Kamar Aiken and Marlon Brown ain't no "munchkins" either, so this ought to be a strong squad if the two main rookies pan out! Kamar & Marlon have already "made their bones"! Plus, if Trestman's going to tinker, then it stands to reason we'll see Justin Forsett in more patterns for 2015?
  25. While I'm not disagreeing with any of what you said, I do believe Tray Walker is a stronger player than the "project" you seem to be suggesting he is! I believe ANY player can come in and, "hit the ground, running" figuratively and literally! That's to say we've seen guys have problems getting up to NFL speed, learning assignments and grasping schemes! Then, we also have to believe some guys can come in an feel right at home -- can get it right from the jump!!! Let's hope Tray's one of those!
