  1. I agree that Joe is making the plays that should put us in the win column, but I wish people would stop saying he can "elevate a player"! He doesn't and then people say, "Oh, oh, those guys can't catch! Can't get separation!" All during pre-season we hear of "circus catches" and "highlight reel receptions",.... either somebody's drink Harh Hyperbole Juice or telling a lie! Still, these losses aren't Joe's doing, especially when the 4th Quarter begins! The INTs don't help but Joe's doing what he needs even with miss seeing open receivers!
  2. Naw, I AM a Time Machine! Anyway,... Done,... Let's move on, but if you need the last word, feel free!
  3. They've been good but never "ALL GOOD" and bad but never "ALL BAD",... we all get that! But as long as this collection of Ravens continues to come out on the losing side of games,... until they learn how to protect leads and close out games for the win, who cares if they lose by one or forty points? It's a lame excuse!
  4. I get tired of hearing that lame excuse! There is NO playoff slot for sub-par teams who lose by 3, 4,or 5 points! This isn't Pop Warner "feel Good" leagues where every participant gets a trophy!
  5. I just want to know how do professional corners and safeties miss cover assignments as drastically and as regularly as they do? The Run Game is pretty solid. The Pass protection is pretty good but Joe locks one guy and ignores others. The Front Four are getting penetration and learning to stop the run w/o Haloti. All could improve, of course, but they are playing and scoring enough points to win! That Secondary is a major issue! P.S. -- Indy 'Mayflowers' FO & Chuckie P are souring!
  6. Sez another Satisfied with mediocrity fan! lol
  7. I believe the Blitz saves us! With our horrible Secondary, were it not for the Blitz, we'd be eaten alive! It is also evident that our defensive scheme doesn't adjust well! We were gashed by average TEs in the Cleveland game which kept Browns' drives alive! Coverage being the weakness in C.J.s game is now how even bad teams will attack our defense! We're looking at Q and Torrey to have great games against our "Cushion Defense" yet we may prevail because Joe can out-score Kap!
  8. The teams used to fear our defense as "Bullies", not because the Dee was comprised of dirty players but because they were "punishing" players! They we smart, aggressive, punishing players who thrived of wrecking havoc on 3rd and 6 !!! Not these soft guys who give up 12 yard cushions on 3rd and 6! Since the purge following the Superbowl win, and the retirement of #52 we've heard that it's finally Harbaugh's locker room! Harbs' locker room begat Harbs' players and that's all there is to that!
  9. SSmith, Sr. is just what his name implies - a SENIOR citizen in NFL terms! We'd have done better keeping Bouldin - period! Givens, on the other hand, may pan out to be something special! It just remains to be seen if Joe will throw to him. Sunday Crockett Gilmore and Aiken will get 12 catches each because,.... well,.... that's Flacco!
  10. Lenny Moore lived on Yosemite Avenue, around the corner from me in NW Baltimore for well over 2 decades beginning in 1964 when we moved there from West Baltimore! I was privileged to know him and Jim Parker and their families, personally, through my dad, a Hall of Fame athlete from Morgan State in the 30s and a recreation director for Baltimore City! Northwest Baltimore was a Black sports figures Haven for the teen-aged athlete that I was! Orioles Frank Robinson and Curt Moulton lived on Cedardale, within 6 blocks, other Colts Jim Parker and Tony Lorick within 10 blocks on Callaway and Sequoia Avenues and I played slo-pitch softball for Lydell Mitchell's Bar, the "Point After" on Elgin Avenue! It's GREAT to hear that Baltimore Colts are not totally forgotten by the NFL
  11. Upshaw thinks the pink looks good with the black! How old is he? 24? We're the Ravens - - Black looks good with the black!!!
  12. No way, Jernigan's a better athlete than Cody,... he's just immature!
  13. Would love to see Golden Tate in purple!
  14. We've been saying that since Cam Cameron's futile 8-to-12 carries for Rice losses before the "non-mutiny"! I'm still surprised that we didn't get a marquee RB in the draft! We're better at that than we are picking WRs! Justin Forcett's a good RB but he can't run over or evade tacklers regularly! Perhaps Taliaferro or Allen [more likely] will emerge as the year goes,...
  15. I am 110% in favor of Breast Cancer Awareness given that while nobody in my family has been afflicted with Breast Cancer, other forms has decimated my parents and two older brothers! I just wish the NFL would, say, donate 2% of the gates from an October "Breast Cancer Awareness" month game to the research facilities and make the wearing pink gesture a voluntarily one [with no intimidation from HCs or FOs]! I'd rather enjoy hearing that the sold out gate from the Ravens' Oct 11th game resulted in a multi-million dollar donation to breast cancer research, especially knowing that our donation is one of 15 other multi-million dollar donations!!
  16. I can go along with that provided we're not "knee-jerking" them back too early! If you ask them, they will assuredly say "I'm ready", but if they are not quite healed, another week won't hurt them! I say that because IMHO and whether we want to admit it, we're rebuilding this year!
  17. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha,... Sorry,.. for a minute, I thought you were serious!
  18. I'm getting a "Sergio Kindle" vibe out of Perriman with the way his condition, healing rehabilitation is being described! Do we really need to bring Canty and Gilmore in against the Browns? Let Joe grow into Maxx rather than scanning for Crockett instead of the open guys!
  19. Chris Givens may well come in here and find himself a home, Mom! It's not like there's anyone to challenge his ascension into the starting line-up! I hope he realizes this!
  20. Trestman ruled out?
  21. EVERONE has sure hands and makes "Highlight Reel" catches,... then the season starts! Kamar Aiken, Michael Campanero, Darrel Waller = after-thoughts....... and, Breshad Perriman will probably get as many throws at him as Maxx Williams has had in three games!
  22. The team has those other WRs good enough to be on the 53 but not good enough to garner a look-see under game conditions?
  23. Agree that Marlon isn't the hard core WR we'd hoped hed be but what's going on with Aiken and Campanero? If Joe's going to favor SS,Sr and Gilmore, then the rest of the WRs will take plays off, regardless! Now,... so far, the run game looks eerily like Chicago's w/o a Matt Forte! What happened to "Oh, we're not changing the offense; we may 'tinker' but not change"?
  24. HEAR! HEAR!
