  1. Lucky might be too strong of a word but I believe it was. More so just a benefactor of a strong roster (especially on offense, Torrey, Boldin, prime Rice, healthy Pitta), legendary leadership from Ray, and a strong well-rounded coaching staff (many of which are coaching at a higher position with other teams currently)

That's not to say he isn't a competent head coach because he is, that's also not to say that just anybody could've done what he's done during his time in Baltimore. Just that his role in previous years' success has been overblown and he acted more like the glue sealing the team together rather than an active force driving the team forward.

I've been an outspoken supporter of Harbs over the years but it feels like as time has gone on and the roster/coaching staff has become thinner that more of his shortcomings have been exposed. I don't think he's a great football mind, I think he's a great team manager.

Harbs isn't going to get fired, but this USC opening maybe a great median for the two sides to part ways without all the drama and bad blood involved with firing a winning HC. I think it may just make it easier on everyone for John to take the job if he get's offered, I've always thought his coaching style was a better fit for college similar to Nick Saban. When I watched Harbs in the rookie camp series he just fit the bill as a potential college coach, I think working with younger players in a more controlled environment is exactly the situation he needs. I'm not opposed to Harbs staying, I just see a great opportunity to part ways without things getting ugly.

As bad as we are right now and as interesting as it would be to have someone with a high powered offensive/defensive influence on our team come in as a new HC...I don't see it happening. This is Harbaugh's first humdinger of a year along with the 8-8 season after we won XLVII. I assume and expect there will be reports of Harbaugh on the hotseat this season, only to be shot down by Steve, Dick, and Ozzie.

John Harbaugh brings more to our team as a HC than most people think, and the biggest question of all would be who would replace him? It's hard enough just trying to replace coordinators, let alone trying to replace a proven, super bowl winning head coach. If we did ever cut ties with Harbaugh he would be one of the hottest if not the hottest coaching names out there, and would get scooped up in a trillionth of a second either by a NFL team or he could make millions coaching college kids like little bro.

Sure he has his flaws sometimes not controlling the clock well or timeouts, challenges or what have you...but thats because he is a risk taker, and that same sense of "going for it" and taking those risks has helped our team as many times as it has hurt our team.

Still too early to be thinking about dropping a nuke on our team and cut ties with Flacco and Harbaugh. We are just a spoiled franchise used to WINNING.

Until we become the new Raiders, Browns, etc. And throw up losing records year after year after year Harbaugh will remain our head coach.

Dean Pees is a whole mother story...He is done as our d-coordinator. He is one Larry Fitzgerald TD away from being fired, at least hopefully that's the case.

  2. What we really need is for one of our talented young guys to step up, grow up and become a leader. We have been labeled "undisciplined" every game this season by analysts, commentators, and common sense would warrant that there definitely a lack of leadership out there. Most likely due to Suggs not being out there but we just look to be playing with no emotion out there.

And the thing is Suggs isn't going to be here forever. What happens after he is gone? Someone has to take control of this team and unfortunately we have a lot of quiet guys (Jimmy, Mosley, Williams, Jernigan etc) who have openly denied and disputed taking the leadership role only to pull the Flacco card saying they will lead by example on the field, but you can't lead by example when your examples are god awful.

  3. Larry Fitzgerald is gonna give us the ol Hot Cosby on live TV LOL.

In all seriousness I'm sure not expecting a win on MNF, I've been expecting a damn win since Oakland and the Pittsburgh win was so ugly it didn't even fufill that void. The Cards have one of the best Ds in the league and have a pretty high powered offense too with a lot of weapons.

The only thing we have going for us is the "any given Sunday" factor....too bad we play on Monday.

  4. This just aint our year, things could not be going any worse for us. And to top it off the Steelers continue to win with backup QBs with Roethelisberger about to return, and the damn Browns are even playing better than us.

Our defense looks immature, weak, and seriously unmotivated out there. I feel like at this point we just HAVE to fire Dean Pees. Hopefully in turn we can maybe give our defense a much needed push in a better direction, similar to when we fired Cam Cameron in 2012 and our terrible offense made some improvements.

Aside from Old Man Peyton, every other QB we faced has absolutely NUKED our defense, and at this point the missed tackles, awful penalties, and overall lack of motivation out there is unacceptable.

Our team literally looks like a few veterans playing with high schoolers out there, high schoolers who just want the game to be over already so they can go home and play Xbox or something.

All I kept thinking after the loss yesterday is somewhere out there right now Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are shedding tears thinking to themselves "Daaaaamn my team needs me right now".

It's crazy how much Rays loud mouth pregame speeches really got our guys fired up and motivated to play. We could be undermanned, injured, or just flatout untalented and Ray and Ed could motivate young guys to step up and win games, and if we didn't win our guys would be fired up enough to go out and play with 150% effort.

Still can't believe we are 1-5 right now. Absolutely can't believe it

  5. That stye is optimistic I see us anywhere between 3-13 and 5-11. I wish I could share your optimism, but I think playing like a normal Ravens team is out of the question. The fact of the matter is, in the real heart of the issue, is that we are not a normal Ravens team.

I like the fact that we have a lot of young pieces and skill positions, and we have pieces that we are able to build on and capitalize later in the draft. I do think that this team is young and continuity will build as well the cohesion of all of the skill positions and the line position. I just leave right now between coaching and the ravaging of our roster by injuries has put us in a position that we are not accustomed to.

I think this offseason will be the off season that we have needed for the last two or three years where we clean house and start over. Not necessarily over from selling are complete roster having a complete and total fire sale I think of you key pieces will remain intact. I think John Harbaugh, Ozzie Newsome, and almost all of our position coaches sans Hewitt are going to stay around to coach the young players that we have. I do see faces like Dean pees leaving, Chris Canty leaving, possibly Daryl Smith but unlikely as he is still one of our best defenders.

I just think that we are not as good of a team this year I think we are one of the lesser teams in the league in comparison. I think we have just gotten so used to a culture of winning that we are not willing to accept that we are not on the same level as teams we used to be able to be 2 or 3 years ago. I think the Chargers, Rams, Chiefs, Bengals, Steelers, Seahawks, dolphins, Cardinals are all losses. The Jaguars has trap game written all over it because bortles is playing well, Yeldon is coming on, and that defense is hit or miss one game they played a great won one game day lay an egg and give up 38 to Tampa Bay. I think depending on that defense that could be a loss as well.

I feel you...it's hard for me to envision us going anywhere north of 9-7 in what would take a lot of winning at this point against some strong teams. Still I see us finishing with 7-10 wins fighting it out to the end.

  6. I'm still kind of numb after that loss as I expect most of us probably are as well. We lost to the damn Browns? At home?!? Blasphemy.

I suppose the only logical thing to do now is to look at the remaining schedule with an optimistic mindset, factor in when our injured guys may return and try and bring out the positives (if any at all) left in the season. There are plenty of winnable games left on schedule and if we can get healthy and somehow start playing with the aggression and tenacity we all know and love on defense we could certainly give the top dogs a good fight too.

    Week 6- @49ers Prediction- W

    Week 7- @Cardinals- L

Week 8- Home Vs Chargers- L

Week 9- Much needed BYE week

Week 10- Home Vs Jaguars- W

Week 11- Home Vs Rams- W

    Week 12- @Browns- W

    Week 13- @Dolphins- W

Week 14- Home Vs Seahawks- W

Week 15- Home Vs Chiefs- W

Week 16- Home Vs Steelers- W

    Week 17- @Bengals- L

...(Could see us winning this one if cincy benches Dalton if they clinch).

Bengals will win the north, Ravens will fight for a wildcard spot and probably won't get in, (not sure if any team in history made playoffs after a 1-4 start).

But looking at the schedule I see a potential 8-10 wins out there if we can get healthy, practice 100x harder and start playing like a normal Ravens team does.

I still give us a fighters chance against the big dogs left on our schedule- Cardinals, Chargers, Seahawks, Bengals Steelers etc. And if we can win the easy ones we could make some magic happen.

I see Breshad Perriman coming back sometime after our week 9 Bye, maybe for the Jags or Rams game. And I also still have hope for Dennis Pitta returning, alot of people are writing him off but I see him giving it one last go. I feel like he would have retired already and not have gone through all of this rehab unless he truly thinks he can still make an impact and I could definitely see him returning as a redzone/3rd down target sometime this year.

And there's still 2 weeks left to make trades, although after a surprising 2 trades so far this year I doubt we suffer any more picks away, although I wouldn't be surprised to see one more because we could definitely use it.

And if for some reason we happen to tank the rest of the year...atleast we will have a top tier draft position.

Mock drafts gon be fun as hell

  7. Our Chance of saving this season died along with all our WRs

Have faith... Steve Smiths injury doesn't sound all that serious maybe out a few games. Perriman should be back in another 4-6 weeks. And Dennis Pitta is gonna come in and be Gronkin' fools before you know it.

The Steelers should be going downhill fast with Bergerless games against the Chargers, Cardinals, Cheifs, and Bengals on the cusp.

At the very least we HAVE to win the easy games and fight like hell in the harder ones. We could still squeak out a 9 or 10 win season.

  8. I was thinking that, until this latest round of terrible news on the injury front.

I'm not sure I will be expecting many comfortable wins ... too many challenges and some of these "bad" teams aren't necessarily patsies. I think more ugliness (in both wins and losses) is to be expected.

I thought the Pittsburgh game would be a comfortable win too...it might have been the most uncomfortable Win I've ever watched lol

After the 4and out at the 2 minute warning in the 4th qtr I went to sleep..found out we won the next morning haha

  9. With both Camp and Steve going out, (one permanently and the other indefinitely) dramatically reduces the likelihood of mounting a streak and resurrecting this season.

Our WR corps, which was already suspect, is now decimated. I've no idea how this can get corrected now.

Luckily we get a home game against the Browns who get destroyed against the run...I see Justin Forsett having a big game against them setting up a W. Then we travel to SF to play the worn down niners in what should be another win.

We have a 3 game home stretch against the Chargers, Jaguars, and Rams before going to CLE and Miami after that.

If we get healthy, come together and really make a push we could definitely still make the playoffs.

Per team source Ravens WR Steve Smith Sr. has 4 broken bones in his back. They will put him in wait & see mode (day 2 day) #ravenstalk cont

I hope this is more rumor than fact. This could be the real reason why Chris Givens was brought in although I don't pretend to think he's anywhere as good as Senior.

Steve Smith put our team on his back and now its broken.

And on the same day that we send Michael Campanero to season ending IR too...

At this point I'd say we won't see Perriman until atleast WK 10-12 after our bye week. Still holding out hope that Dennis Pitta could come in and contribute at some point this year as well.

And all the little injuries in between too..Monroes concussion, Gilmore's calf, etc... Hot Damn we must be cursed

  11. TE TIME!

Yea I feel like we just have to find ways to be dynamic and make plays on offense until we get our playmakers back. Hopefully we can continue to run the ball effectively and maybe Chris Givens can open up things over the middle for Marlon, Aiken, and our TEs. Hopefully Gilmore makes a return soon and Maxx Williams continues to develop.

In theory we are expecting to have Perriman, and also Dennis Pitta added to the offense at some point this season... So if we could tough it out and find ways to win games until then we might just have ourselves a nice offense down the road...it just sucks we are in win now mode with all the injuries.

    WR1: Steve Smith

    WR2: Breshad Perriman

    WR3: Kamar Aiken

    WR4: Chris Givens

    WR5: Marlon Brown

    TE1: Dennis Pitta (if healthy)

    TE2: Crocket Gilmore

    TE3: Maxx Williams

That's an offense that could get it done for us for sure.

  12. Did yall see this?

@CHICKatCSN: Per team source Ravens WR Steve Smith Sr. has 4 broken bones in his back. They will put him in wait & see mode (day 2 day) ‪#‎ravenstalk‬

Just saw this report on rotoworld...hoping and praying its not a season ender and heard he might be able to play through it. We must be cursed or something this year with all these injuries. Suggs,Perriman, Gilmore,Monroe Camp, and now our only viable weapon on offense is most likely out for at least a few weeks if not worse unless it's not as bad as it sounds. Hopefully we also kick the tires on a few free agent workouts for safety measures too.

    Because now its looking like:

    WR1- Kamar Aiken

    WR2- Marlon Brown

    WR3- Chris Givens

    WR4- Darren Waller

Not real scary for opposing defenses. Hopefully Forsett continues to heat up.

  13. I'm projecting a much needed win against a Bergerless Steelers team and a potential 3 game winning streak leading up to week 7. I feel like Vick will be good not great, probably commit some turnovers, Brown and Bell will make some plays and possibly score some pts but I feel like the loss of Roethlisberger makes a difference.

If we get this win I see us at 3-3 before our Monday Night game with the Cardinals wk7. If we play our cards right and can get this thing going this Thursday against a vuberable Steelers team we could get a streak going.

    Wk 4 @Pitt- W

Wk 5 Home Vs. Browns- W

    Wk 6 @SF- W

And if we have all hands on deck for the Wk 7 MNF vs the Cards (a game Pitta will be eligible to play in if he could possibly do so), I feel like we have a chance to beat them and come back home against SD 4-3, although I project a loss against Zona.

  14. I don't understand what makes everyone think alshon Jeffrey is in play all of a sudden because the bears got rid of an aging pass rusher who didn't fit their scheme, and not take a loss on him

This is pretty much wishful thinking on the part of over zealous ravens fans

Good read on potential Forte and Jeffrey trades

  15. Is he on the block or not? Lol I've heard different reports. If he's available, we should go after him. If not, onto the next guy. I personally haven't looked into his availability either way. Only going off what I've heard.

  16. I don't understand what makes everyone think alshon Jeffrey is in play all of a sudden because the bears got rid of an aging pass rusher who didn't fit their scheme, and not take a loss on him

This is pretty much wishful thinking on the part of over zealous ravens fans

Because the Bears have already traded away 2 players, so if a team inquires about Jeffrey or Forte and will give you a mid-early round draft pick for a player that can do no good for you in a year where you are 0-3, injured QB and projected to be a bottom tier team...and is a free agent following the season...and with Kevin White on the back burner as well the Bears are in the position where why wouldn't you trade him?

It's a trade that makes sense, alot of teams out there that could use Jeffrey's service and the Bears would be hard pressed to turn down offers for him.

    0

  17. After trading Jared Allen and Jon Bostic, teams are inquiring about Matt Forte and Alshon Jeffrey. If I was Ozzie I would be calling the Bears right now and throw up a 3rd or 4th round pick on the table for him, the Bears would probably consider anything for him.

I would be surprised if the Bears do not trade Jeffrey...he is in the final year of his contract and likely to test free agency next year, and the Bears season is essentially a bust right now and the team looks to be in rebuild mode.

Steve Smith, Alshon Jeffrey, Breshad Perriman, Gilmore, Williams and potentially Pitta too...that's a Ravens receiving group no fan has ever seen.
