Hands down #52
Because hes recovering from a nasty season ending injury...I'm glad hes not out there hobbling around all sore.
Motivational speaking only goes so far anyways... But I'm sure we'll see Suggs goofing off on the sidelines later on this season.
At this point in his career Webb is nothing more than a leaky #3, or #4 CB who makes plays every once in a blue moon. He has clearly lost a step since being that beast we all remember who would be worth the big $, but he just lost it. I lost count on the number of surgeries and injuries he went through. Dude has trouble covering at this point, I want to say he flatout CANT cover but you still see him make plays every now and again. But for the most part he's either getting burned or getting penalized for holding or PI.
I feel like CB/DB has been a growing need for the longest time. We desperately need to add talent to our secondary this off season.
Damn I wish we didn't draft this guy. I see him getting waived if we can't find a suitable trade partner. Coming back from one of the more grusome injuries and on the cusp of nothing but mediocre play since being drafted...and now he gets suspended to top it all off.
Well played Elam
I wouldn't count us out of any game for the rest of the season. Despite the lack of talent/depth, the Ravens have played close games. This one shouldn't be any different.
That's my whole mindset too despite a depressing season. Every game is winnable, alot of the games were close, we just shoot yourself at the wrong times and fall apart trying to finish out games.
Last years loss to SD must have put a damn curse on our team. We played that game hard and should have won, save for Rivers marching down the field on our D and throwing TDs to Allen and Royal for the win. Lo and behold this became the theme for this year's season.
Another winnable game if we come prepared and play aggressive. And if someone teaches our D how to play hard in the end and finish games.
Maybe with 2-3 more seasons with losing records, but no he's not on the hotseat.
Although Harbaugh does make mistakes here and there whether it's clock management in one loss, or wasting timeouts to bad challenges in another loss...you can't blame him for this year's disastrous start.
Given the laundry list of injuries we've had to deal with, and the clear and present lack of SOMETHING out there whether it's talent or personnel in general, the 2015 Ravens lack a lot of things, but a solid head coach with a winning mentality is not one of those missing elements.
Now as I said another year or 2 like 2015 and you'd think Steve, Dick and Ozzie might think its time to go a different direction...personally I consider this year a fluke of a year and see us doing everything we possibly can this off season to tighten up and reinforce our team on all phases and be ready for 2016.
You said "Swiss Pees?"
I see what you did there
Rotoworld referred to our defense as "swiss cheese". ![]()
Ravens 29 Cards 27.
I remember the year he was drafted...the Manti Teo, Kevin Minter draft.
Although I was excited that we took a flier on a potential starting MLB, or at least an athletic LB, I knew he was going to be a project player who we would have to develop, and have little to no impact year 1, but I had hope we could develop him into SOMETHING on defense given his athleticism but for whatever reason he just never really developed into what we had in mind.
Id be eager to see him in a 4-3 scheme...maybe that will suit him better. I guess we'll see next off season.
On another note thank God Ozzie drafted C.J. Mosley the following draft. It's like Ozzie knew Brown wasn't the guy he had in mind and Cj was jussssst that.
Maybe someone can enlighten me about the defense. I know we lack receivers on the offensive side of the ball but for the most part, they do their job.
Is the defense really that banged up that we can put the blame there or are the players just not as good as we once thought?
For the most part, our defensive line has been getting after the QB, ranking somewhere between 7-8 I believe. We have a really solid LB core, though Mosley has been struggling.
Then, we get to the secondary. We all dreamt of a healthy duo of Webb and Jimmy at some point. This year, they've struggled as well. Will Hill has been decent. The other safety spot has been a rotating door with injuries as has the nickel corner spot.
So, defensively, would you say our players aren't as good as we thought or maybe they don't fit the defensive scheme? Outside of the safety spot with Lewis and nickel spot, this is the team we wanted right?
We most definitely need more defensive backs. Aside from Jimmy Smith...who has single handedly been beat numerous times this season...our secondary badly needs help.
For some reason we think that 1 solid CB surrounded by mediocre C- grade at best CBs can get it done. We definitely need to sure up our secondary which has been a reoccurring problem for us over Harbaugh and Flaccos tenure here. Lardarius Webb is done, Kyle arrington is nothing more than a depth guy, and beyond that we have nothing else. If we had 1 or 2 more CBs and could drop Webb/Arrington down to 4th/5th on the depth chart as package guys/reserve guys, our secondary would be much improved. I feel like Jimmy is a lone wolf out there.
Id love to see us grab a CB with our 1st rd pick after the season is over, while also looking for vet CBs in free agency like we always do. Another cornerstone corner to play aside Jimmy would be a sweet deal.
We also need some more pass rush help for sure with Suggs future in question, and with Doom getting older we could definitely use another sack artist.
If we sure up the pass defense, add some pass rush talent we could be back on track as a top 10 overall D.
I currently need Carson Palmer to win me 2 fantasy matchups (which he should if he lives up to Projections)... But I keep thinking to myself what if we end up playing lights out on D and hold their offense in check...or at least somewhat in check.
Like watching Blake Bortles shred our D
I might just start our defense in fantasy that week. But what do I know...my fantasy Kings lineups turning into a damn day job lol
*SIGH* The only thing going for us this season is the potential top 10-15 pick we likely have coming next draft.
And honestly its what we badly NEED right now an impact player someone who will eventually have a 90rating in Madden (hopefully)...not a guy who might do something in his career with development, we need a special talent who will give us a spark from day 1.
So many positions to choose from too thinking/hoping its either a OT/PassRusher/Safety depending on all the rankings...haven't watched much college this year and haven't looked into anything 2016 draft wise just yet.
Hopefully we get a cornerstone player.
Too much yes, but dudes only 30 and plays lights out.Too much, too old
Do you guys think Doug Martin vs the Skins can match or get close to the points Davonta Freeman will get against the Titans?
Skins looked to have the best run D in the league in weeks 1-4. Week 5 Devonta Freeman ran on em for 27/153/1, and last week Chris Ivory went 20/146/1 against em. So if that trend continues, Martin could do just as you question.
I still say the Skins are a good bet to keep Martin in check this week yards wise but he is still TD hopeful.
Freeman on the other hand has looked like the second coming of LT out there and is averaging 25 pts per game. He is a good bet for at least 80 total Yards and a score against virtually any defense. And he gets the Titans this week who got gutted by Lamar Miller last week.
SSS @ AZ
Amari Cooper @ SD
Allen Hurns v. BUF
One of the 3. Hurns has been a good pick-up and bye week fill-in, but I think it is down to SSS and Cooper. I have been struggling between these two guys all year, always managing to start the wrong one, week after week.
I'd go Allen Hurns...Bills are projected to shadow Allen Robinson with top CB Gilmore, so I see potential and garbage time potential for either Allen this week.
Tough D bu Hurns has put up at least 60 Yards or a TD in every game this season and has TDs in 4 straight games since week 3.
Have a real RB problem this week it's between Ameer Abdullah,Vereen and Charles sims. Vereen has a great matchup but is so inconsistent if I start him I'm sure he'll have 0 catches if I don't he'll probably have 10+, Abdullah has the worst matchup and has been disappointing this entire season, sims has been consistent the last 3 weeks but can I expect to continue with a tough matchup?
Btw it's a PPR league
Shane Vereen or Charles Sims...both are passing downs gadget guys who don't get alot of touches but Ameer Abdullah hasn't done anything this year is borderline droppable is most leagues and with Joique Bell back this week against a tougher D hes harder to trust.
Vereen is probably the better option IMO
Fitzpatrick vs. NE
Landry Jones vs KC
Or Hoyer vs Miami
Basically I need a cheap option at QB with high reward potential. I think NE and NYJ get into a shootout
I'd narrow it to Hoyer/Fitzmagic and probably go Hoyer, he and Nuk Hopkins have a great chemistry and Hopkins is absolutely destroying opposing defenses.
Could also throw Fitzmagic in the mix too, Brandon Marshall and Decker have played well so far this year but Fitz is harder to trust and they are a running offense with Ivory.
Eric Weddle please.
HahahahaWhos ready for SSS and four TEs Sets?
Im still holding out hope that he returns although it seems like he's got the whole world doubting him, I think Pitta will make a return.
I think he's got 3 weeks now to be activated or he gets put on IR, so hopefully everything goes smoothly and be can be able to return to us...lord knows we need all the help we can get at this point.
He is the lone bright spot of a miserable season
Flacco, Forsett, and Steve Smith...at least they make games FUN to watch with their energetic electric playmaking ability despite all the losing.

I feel like we're going pass rusher DL, or DB with the first selection. But wouldn't be surprised to see us going OL. I'm pumped regardless of who we pick bc i feel like whoever we take is going to be a year 1 contributor.
Something defense in all likely hood.
