  1.    Agreed, I always thought Sharper was a pretty good guy, and loved watching him play. Definitely going to see some jail time, but not as much time as Hernandez. Hernandez is pretty much looking at life in there

Darren Sharper just got arrested yesterday after police obtained a warrant and is under investigation. If he is found guilty he will face life in prison. Considering there are over 10 cases across 5 different states it really does not look good for him. So you could consider this just as bad or even worse than what Aaron Hernandez is going through. At least Hernandez is an ex gang member and can defend himself in jail. If Sharper is convicted he will be doomed for life...other convicts in jail do not take to kindly to those who commit rape, and they will definitely let Sharper know how they feel about that.

  2. but they also said there might be that many cap cas as many people might think. but we might have a a shot at Alex mack NOW (if he hits the market)

Yea thats why I said in my original post that I wonder if we will cut Sam Koch, Jameel Mcclain, or Vonta Leach. I would think leach is a sure thing to be cut because it seems like we are set on using Juice as our Hback, maybe we are waiting on cutting Mcclain until after we see the fate of Daryl Smith. Im sure there will still be some notable cuts by other teams too, the Cowboys for example are 20M over the cap and will likely have to cut Damarcus Ware, Miles Austin and a few other players to get back into the positives.

  3. Well the past couple years I have felt like Thursday night is prime time for scrubby teams. They had some terrible teams featured in 2013 like the Jets, Bills, Browns, Texans, Raiders, Dolphins, Titans etc. It seemed like the NFL was trying to throw a bone to sucky teams and give them a chance to do absolutely nothing for the national TV audience.

I do like Thursday night games because it gives you a nice dose of football to hold you over until Sunday, but hopefully CBS will feature some better matchups. CBS does it better broadcasting the games than NFL network in my opinion, Mike Mayock pretty much spends the entire game talking about the players draft statistics, I swear he would talk about Drew Brees' and Peyton Mannings combine stats from like 10 years ago if they played haha.

"Man I really liked that guy Brees coming out of Purdue, he did'nt run a great 40 time but he is just a guy that can make all the throws" hahaha "I remember the combine of '98 when Manning made some great throws". He is addicted to talking about the combine and draft.

  4. Still feel like Smith is a candidate to hit the market, Im just worried we will be too focused on Eugene Monroe and Dennis Pitta that we may let him hit the market. And apparently there are 3 or 4 teams teams interested in him. He is coming off a bounce back year and could command a multi year deal. Honestly to me I think it would be better to go with Monroe, Smith, and Graham and let Pitta and Jones walk. I think Smith would be a great mentor for Arthur Brown in his first year starting.

Yea I read up on some of the o-line and TE measurables...starting to get very excited for the weekend.

  6. We should be aiming for more than two of our guys.  Monroe and Pitta are bare minimum, in my opinion.  I'd expect one of Daryl Smith or Corey Graham to be re-signed as well.

I think Corey Graham is almost a shoe in as he should'nt be too expensive. But Im not sure about Daryl Smith and Art Jones they could make some bank in free agency. But hopefully we get some combo of those guys.

  7. Lets just hope Eugene Monroe's player rep meets with Ozzie this weekend and starts hammering out a deal. I keep hearing that our guys also don't want to let Pitta hit the open market and are considering franchise tagging him. Maybe with this boost in cap space we could get them both, but you would think the best case scenario would be one or the other.

As long as we resign Monroe and grab one of either Pitta, Daryl Smith, or Art Jones I will be content.

  8. There's only 5 tackles in the NFL that make 10 a year.

I just think "At or above" is a lot.

I'd say 8-10 is a good high range for Monroe.  Depending on what happens with Albert and VelDheer

I feel like its all about the market though...desperate teams will do what they do best and spend. I dont see him getting more than a 6 year $54M contract though. I think he might stay in Baltimore for $48M though

  9. Where'd you see that?

Free agent LT Eugene Monroe said he's not open to giving the Ravens any sort of hometown discount.

"You have to get the absolute best because you put forth your best effort all the time, every single day in this league," Monroe said. "So there are definitely no discounts, and you have to have you and your family's best interests at heart in terms of negotiating these deals." Monroe, 27 in April, is in the prime of his career and will be shooting for a big payday coming off his rookie deal. Monroe has proven durable and should find at or above $10 million annually.

  10. Haloti ngata has some nerve. He could really try to compromise. Hes a selfish so and so who isnt a true raven. In 2010 he was my fav player. Now i actualy wish he wasnt on our team anymore. Hes average.

It takes a while for contract extensions to get done. Our FO have a ton on their plate so you can't single out Ngata as "selfish" or anything like that. I do agree that an extension for him would be great for this team anything to lower his mammoth cap number. But he definitely played like a Raven to earn that big contract. Even if he doesn't rack up stats...just his giant frame sitting in between running lanes is enough to stuff the run. He is coming off a poor year compared to what we are used to, but he will likely bounce back next year.

  11. Pitta is 29 and is looking for his first payday. Draft amaro or ebron. Sign a wr free agent. 2nd round go for an o linesman. Resign monroe and daryl smith.

Yea I like FA TE Garret Graham...a Kubiak disciple who put up some big numbers. 50 catches 550yds and 5 scores through only 13 games.
