  1. yeah not sure putting a injury prone guy at LT seems not a likey choice.

We also have a hole at RT and guys like Saffold, Breno Giacomini, Zach Strief, and maybe Eric Winston could be considered as well. We could even go the route of pushing Kelechi Osemele to RT making it easier to find a replacement G.

One way or another we have to find a LT and a RT...2 verrry big holes to fill.

If Eugene Monroe signs elsewhere, #Ravens would get compensatory picks for him in 2015. So it's not a wasted trade.

I have seen/heard this a lot...but what are those draft picks going to do for us this year? We will have to wait another year to use them...and on top of that we would lose out on a vital piece to our o-line that could make or break our 2014 season. Im afraid what will happen to our 120 million dollar QB if we can't protect for yet another season. Next time it wont be a scare...it will be a full blown ACL tear.

  3. I think it might be the best course of action at this point.  We already knew that Monroe can play in our system, which is why I'd be willing to pay him more than everyone else.  Now that he's seemingly out of the picture, everyone's a risk.  If we're going to take on a risk, I'd rather in be a $5-6M risk in Collins than a $8-9M risk in Albert.  And as I said earlier, that extra money can go towards filling another hole on the line or anywhere really.

Rodger Saffold could be another cheap option too...but is considered more of a RT although he is convinced he can protect the blindside. Im just worried about Anthony Collins being a fluke.

  4. I don't see Albert much being cheaper.  I see whoever doesn't get Monroe out of Miami and Arizona paying some big bucks for Albert.  If I had to pick a guy in FA right now, I'd probably say it's Anthony Collins at this point.  He's a risk considering he's only had 1 good year at LT after being a reserve lineman for a good portion of his career, but I think he'd be a good fit based on price.  If we don't get Monroe, I'd rather spend that money on someone like Collins and Dietrich-Smith or De La Puente in addition.

Yea we might have to just salvage a few cheaper guys out of free agency and hope we can retune our o-line.

  5. It makes sense for Monroe.  This is his chance at his biggest contract, and I'm sure he's drawn to Florida for the fishing (pending Miami signs him, of course).  There's no state income tax, so it would equate to even more money than it does here.  His wife may be from Maryland, but I'm sure she'll gladly take some of that extra money for herself.  It's unfortunate, but that's how it works.  I wouldn't care personally.  What can't I do with $40M that I can do with $50M?  Some guys don't see it that way, though.  That's the business.

Would you consider Branden Albert for a cheaper price? Its nice to know we are even able to offer such a hefty contract given how we are always cap deficient. We could get Albert for cheaper and then go after some other FAs

  6. Would it be crazy to call Noah the best center in the league right now? Because I believe he's there.

I have Noah after Hibbert, MGasol, and Dwight. But Noah is a scrappy player and puts up tripdubs like they are nothing.

Best fits for Melo next season?

I've been thinking Bulls for awhile. That's just an obvious good fit.

LA would be horrible IMO and I can't see him going to Phoenix.

Wizards would be the best fit IMO. He's exactly what they need and the Wiz should have the $ for him. I think someone else might have to come though to join forces with him. Maybe Monroe?

He's from around the area and he'd make them a ton of money. He'd have a true superstar PG and would make a good compliment with Beal. Maybe Otto develops and they could play small in the coming years.

Melo in DC would be the best fits for both of them IMO. Wall would flourish with a pure scoring superstar to dish it out to.

Im not sure how much cap the Wizards have but John Wall, Bradley Beal and Carmelo would be a nasty big 3. Carmelo would love to come home to the metro area where he made his name growing up. The Wizards are already molding into contenders Melo would be a HUGE improvement and give them the extra push they need.

I could also see Melo going to Portland, Detroit, Chicago, and maybe even the Rockets although I dont know which teams can afford him.

  7. Nothing Impresses me about the Thunder. To me there is nothing special about them and even if some how they make it to the finals they don't have enough to beat a stacked team like the Heat or Pacers. Russell Westbrook is still shaky coming off the injuries and takes away from KDs overall dominance in big games IMO. I think SanAntonio, Portland and Houston will give em a run in the playoffs.

KD is a beast but they don't really have anyone else besides him and Westbrook.

  8. Marlon is a slot receiver, so the Ravens would be signing for depth there when they need an outside receiver much more

He is an outside WR who benefits from playing on the inside due to his slower speed. He used to be fast and said in an interview with an Atlanta newspaper that he used to run 4.4 times before injuring his ACL. He can play outside or inside and has shown he can have success  nearly anywhere on the field.

  9. No, I would stay away from Lance Moore. He'll be entering the season at 31 years old and is coming off a dismal season where his production fluctuated quite heavily. Last year he only had 37 catches for 457 yards with 2 TDs and wasn't even the 4th Wr at times. That's saying a lot coming from a Drew Brees led offense who threw the ball 650 times for over 5,100 yards and 39 TDs . He did have a minor injury but as a beat writer who closely follows the Saints said, "it's not injury-related"

Well a lot of player's production dropped this year. The Saints spread the ball around alot and its hard to get the ball to everyone let alone your 4th or 5th read. Hell Marques Colston had his first non-1000 yard season since 2008. Darren Sproles was also another player who saw dropped production and is part of the Saints current trade bait along with Pierre Thomas.

Moore was passed on the depth chart because Kenny Stills made a few big plays in preseason and they wanted to get bigger on the outside. This accompanied with some inuries is what caused his down year. Overall even at age 31 he provides veteran depth behind Torrey and Marlon.

Wouldn't care to see us go after him...or not go after him, but he could be a decent addition.
