  1. Patterson is still a work in progress...progress I'm not sure the Vikings want to deal with anymore. He was definitely a MAJOR reach in a year where the Vikes had 3 1st rd selections but everyone over hyped him to death calling him the next coming of Megatron and such. I think he would fit right in here if we were to acquire him. He would be a solid Torrey/Jacoby replacement due to his upside and special teams talent. Ozzie would have to gamble that we have the staff to help him work on his route running and skills more so than the Vikes did...but at the very least we would have a beast return man and a potential beast of a WR if he works at it. For a 4th or later round draft pick I think the Vikes would bite and I think at the very least we would have a solid #2 or #3 WR with a ton of upside without a huge cap hit and an ACE return specialist for 2015.
  2. Well I think Josh Gordon helped josh Gordon to a solid season, not to say Norv didn't help but Gordon proved he could play well without Norv too and with even the worst of QBs.As for Patterson now there are reports saying he won't be traded, and I agree with the fact that the Vikes might just keep him as a 4th string and special teams ace. Personally Im not sure Ozzie would even consider it as raw as Patterson is, but I smell a smoke screen and bet they are shopping him... The reports saying he hasnt developed an ounce since being drafted as well as butting heads with practically the whole coaching staff along with the addition of Mike Wallace... I see Patterson as very expendable.
  3. Another possibility via Ozzie style team friendly trade would be trade a 2016 late rd pick for Cordarelle Patterson. I was a big Patterson hater before he was taken as a late 1st rounder a few drafts ago because despite his freakish size speed and athleticism he was very raw skill wise coming out of college. I feel like in a new system with far better coaching and QB play he could possibly develop his size and speed into the player he was supposed to be. The Vikings just got Mike Wallace for a 5th rd pick and are looking to shop Patterson, I feel like a 2015 or 2016 late rd pick could suffice.
  4. I wouldn't mind possibly trading for Keenan Lewis from the saints he had a down year in 2014 but prior he was a scrappy CB. His cap hit is pretty light too. For a 5th or 6th rounder it could be a decent trade.
  5. Wonder what Ozzie has up his sleeve for the next move...always drives me nuts this time of year wondering who he might go after. Maybe TE Jermaine Gresham? He's the best TE available and teams seem adamant about signing him. WR Denarius Moore could be a solid Torrey Smith replacement for cheap. Haven't looked into defense FAs too much though.
  6. Haha agreed. I just had to bring it up, and I feel like he deserves one more chance this offseason to see if he can bounce back and push for a backup/ complimentary role after we traded up for him a few off seasons ago.
  7. I just think its too early to give up on both Pierce and Taliaferro especially when you are talking about #2 and #3 roles. I think both could continue to improve although Pierce is probably on thin ice. With Forsett signed through 2017 I think we will be OK for at least this year. As with last year where everyone was so-so about the Steve Smith signing and expected Ozzie to go WR somewhere in the deepest WR class of all time...we found gold at other positions. The only thing I can't account for is the big board and BPA but either way I think we will continue to run the ball well next year.
  8. Absolutely agree, he never really got a chance to have a heavy workload. I guess my point was that he was a 7th round pick who dominates in our system so there is not much need for drafting a RB early.
  9. I think we could go out in free agency and nab someone like Denarius Moore for cheap or use an early pick on a WR if Ozzie decides to end the drought and take a shot on one. We are no way done addressing WR yet.
  10. Think about it...Justin Forsett was nothing but a complimentary scatback for his career and came here and absolutely dominated as a workhorse back. Now as I said before most if it is owed to our pro bowl guards mauling the way for him but it just goes to show our o-line is setup perfect for RB success even at a lower talent level. You think Demarco Murray would have went off without Dallas' all pro o-line too? Nah he is good but no Adrian Peterson. If Darren Mcfadden can survive 14-16 games averaging 15+ touches a game behind that Dallas o-line he will be a probowler book it. A good o-line boosts the running game (obviously) and in our case Forsett and Tailiaferro along with 1 or 2 more backs will be solid.
  11. Lorenzo Tailiaferro showed a lot of poise in his rookie campaign. The only games where he got significant touches he played pretty well vs Cleveland (91yds TD), vs NO (58yds TD), and even against Cinci where he only had 9 touches for 69 yds and 2 TDs. And Bernard Pierce played decent when he got touches too. Forsett will continue to be our workhorse and has proven that he can average 15-20 touches a game through 16 games with solid production and little to no wear, hes a tough guy and should be trusted to handle similar workloads this year once again. Tailiaferro and Pierce would serve as solid backups. I'm sure we will throw a couple RBs in the mix this off season for backup competition but I doubt we splurge on a RB with a high draft pick. As we were last year I think our RB situation will be fine...everyone just wants another dynamic pieces to our offense and hopes we will draft a RB or WR every year with an early pick but it seems Ozzie always has a more beneficial planning mind. Shoot I remember 2-3 seasons the whole Ravens nation used to hope and pray for a Ray Rice release so Bernard Pierce could jump in and go off on the craziest projections...everyone thinking he would be BEAST all pro and everything else. LOL I guess everyone lost faith.
  12. My thoughts on RBs in general WHO CARES the only RBs I see as true beasts who don't need systems or stout olines to their benefit are Peterson, JCharles, Lacey, Lynch, and maybe McCoy. RBs to me are truly a dime a dozen which is why they slide so much in the draft along with injuries but every beast RB will get or has been injured so that's a given. If you set up a stout online with mauling interior guys you can throw almost anyone in there and get solid production ie Forsett, Murray, Etc. Forsett is an older guy with speed quickness and some decent hands with blockers who can get him in open space and let him do his thing. I feel like we probably won't invest more than a mid rd pick on drafting one. If Forsett gets injured Tsilaferro and Pierce can more than compensate.
  13. Well I'm guessing he played 14-16 but I just remember seeing him in a Ravens jersey running like a mad man haha
  14. Had a dream last night that we lost Justin Forsett and signed Darren McFadden and he ran for 1500 yards and 15 all purpose TDs haha
  15. Well someone will pay Murray he has a lot of options to consider. Hopefully your right and Forsett will settle for what Ozzie offers him.
  16. As I said prior if the price is right Ozzie could potentially pull the trigger.
  17. If the price is right I wouldn't mind it...can't question Cameron's skills.
  18. I feel like someone might overpay him
  19. If Jordan Cameron didn't have injury concerns he wouldn't be available right now. We already have 1 injury prone TE I'm not sure we would want to deal with 2 of them.
  20. Deangelo Williams is an absolute NO. Old washed up and I don't think he has ever played a single game healthy. We will push hard for Justin Forsett but if he is too expensive there are plenty other options. Remember this time last year Justin Forsett was just a depth signing and going into the season he wasn't expected to even have a big impact and yet had a pro bowl year. I think we will either go after another cheap RB or look to draft one.
  21. The move reportedly saves $8.5m
  22. I really think WR Denarius Moore could be a solid addition to our offense at a very cheap cost. Practically a Torrey Smith clone...same size same speed and similar production. Moore had a down 2014 season but the seasons before that was an intruiging deep threat. I have a hunch Ozzie has him in mind. Surprisingly NFL live gave Moore a B free agent grade lol
  23. Looks like Owen Daniels will be going to Denver...nothing official but he had a solid year in 2014 which should net him a decent contract and playing under Kubiak with Peyton Manning...Daniels could be a pro bowler next year. No reason to decline a Broncos contract unless he really loves the Ravens more lol fingers crossed
  24. Hopefully we do something with him...get something out of the 2nd rounder we wasted on him. Just plain and simple USE him, find a place for him somewhere on defense where he can contribute.
