  1. 1) L.A. has the Rams. The Chargers are still in San Diego. St. Louis isnt even a rumor. Las Vegas doesnt make sense because nobody actually lives in Las Vegas, the town is 98% tourists, party goers, and eloping couples. That narrows the possibilities quite a bit. 2) KO was supposed to play tackle. Monroe is plan D at this point, his availability is too shaky. If he can be replaced now, he will be.
  2. california teams get on my nerves....
  3. Technically true, but he's still probably gonna get a new extension in 2020. $28M on a single player is a steep price no matter who it is, always wanna smooth that out if you can.
  4. Joe's cap hits for the first three years of his post super bowl deal were $6.8M, $14.8M, $14.5M. Why on earth would you want to strap us more in years with a smaller cap than the current one by making his capnumbers north of $20M all three of those years instead? How would that have helped us back then? There's no question that when the time came Joe would be ready to negotiate a new extension, so why would you NOT give him a backloaded contracted to maximize your cap space and go after more trophies? We did do things right the first time.
  5. not surprised by that either, we had already let him go once before.
  6. Flacco's price went up $14M this year until he signed the extension which only saved us $6M. there were 52 other people on the roster with contracts whose cap numbers also increased. Contract numbers dont stay static while the cap number rises.
  7. not surprised by that. He was up there when we signed him, times about up.
  8. never been a fan of franchising kickers. good kickers are important, but to me, its not difficult enough to find a decent one to bother wasting a tag on a kicker. we dont really have anybody else it makes sense to use it on though, so its whatever this time
  9. their definition of "performance enhancing" is pretty loose
  10. our RB corps is not so bad that we need to bring in 6-8 backs and try them all out and hope something sticks. We're never gonna keep 5 backs. Richardson is overrated as a power back, especially since he cant find holes. Its just a waste of a chance to find another more useful guy at a spot we need more. yeah it might be just one out of 90 guys, but that one guy could be the difference between us finding the next Victor Cruz or Allen Hurns, or ending up starting Frank Walker at corner. Just doesnt make sense to spend all that time on a guy you expect to fail at a position youre not desperate at. the downside is that he has virtually no real upside and someone else who does wont make it to camp.
  11. The $14M increase in Joe's cap hit alone already cancels that out.
  12. right, although the inflation in the guard pay scale alone might possibly take care of that. But Yanda's top 3 guards in the league and arguably the best all around lineman period, so even with inflation factored in: its pretty much tackle money. has to be.
  13. Everybody copies everybody in sports media. One outlet coins a phrase, and the rest just quote it. what it means is that they're offering him at least low end LT money. That's a aggressive because it is a bit more than he's technically proven he deserves, since his resume features guard work almost exclusively. They're going out on a limb to trust him as even a low end LT off of nothing other than a 4 game audition at the end of a losing season and a pinch start back when McKinnie was slacking a couple years ago. The difference between KO and all those other guys is that KO gets to choose between getting a promotion (of sorts) with the Ravens, or getting paid by the rest of the league as a guard, so its a bit of a different game. Even if he gets top guard money somewhere else, its still possible the LT money here could be better. KO gets to flirt with two different pay scales where guys like Ellerbe or Torrey are only getting market value MLB or WR money no matter where they go.
  14. im just gonna leave this here. and i dont expect to have to argue about it. because surely, EVEN if you like to argue for no reason at all, about this: there can be no debate. This is a waste of time. we arent even hurting at RB.
  15. "As ESPN’s Jamison Hensley points out, Forte criticized Trestman after the head coach left Chicago for not being aggressive enough and losing control of some players" Trestman's a coordinator here, not a head coach. not his job to control players in the first place. but we shouldnt be going after Forte anyway though, we do have bigger needs.
  16. Yeah, but now you have to view the thread in the forums instead of being able to vote while viewing it on the article page. Downgrade. I agree. The +,- creates more engagement on the site. But the reply window threads are nice. The +/- is the most irrelevant thing here. Passive aggressive internet bullying, it does the exact opposite of promote engagement. You can reply without having to go to forum, and the conversations show in collapsible threads. Way more important. Dramatic UPgrade.
  17. it doesnt. hes a human, not a slave or a machine, not everything he does has to benefit the team. You clock out everyday at 5 and get to do whatever you want with the rest of your time, why do you think it should be different just because he's in the NFL? and he's only getting $2M over 4 years. yes he make more money than you. That's pretty much what you're mad about. Guess what? so do a lot of other people. you dont let them bother you. let it go here too.
  18. he's got traffic violations those arent "character issues"....
  19. you have no idea what his life will be like when his career is over. you have no idea when his career will be over. you have no idea WHY his career will be over when it is over. Therefore, your statement that "nothing is stopping him from studying when his career is over" is at best: a hypothesis, and at worst: an asinine assumption.
  20. unfortunately, the only way to rebut a large amount of nonsense is with a larger amount of facts. your definition of anything is obviously completely unreasonable as i've pointed out multiple times that his production dwarfs the COMBINED production of your two bottom feeders. The rest of that paragraph is just you repeating the same arguments ive already debunked and/or repeating things i already said (like Kamar being the most talented guy left in the corps) and pretending that its a new point you made. I'll ignore it. Givens only played two games with Flacco. Coincidentally and as you might expect, they were his most productive DESPITE the lack of familiarity between the two. 6 receptions for 62 yards and a TD. Thank you for proving my point. Once again...Matt Schaub USED to be a pro bowler...now he's jsut a washed up back up. we dont have 2009 Matt Schaub, we have 2016 matt schaub....dont know why you're talking about the past. Having a strong arm does not make you a great QB. There's no receiver anywhere that regularly averages 16 yards per reception and puts up at least 560 yards on the season that isnt on a roster. Somebody can always use that kind of depth. Stop making up random nonsense. Your idea of "respect" is me not challenging the lack of sense your arguments make...sorry, not my style. Talk to somebody else if you want a yes man. "agreeing to disagree" is a form of laziness born of your lack of willingness to admit you're wrong about something and/or find a common ground. i dont do laziness. disregarding non sequiturs about trump... disregarding the shaming tactic aimed at attempting to quiet me so that you dont have to defend your nonsense views. and all that said: youre not at all interested in facts or reality because you obviously have some awkward soft spot for these no name receivers which is making you extremely biased. is it really that difficult to just say you want to see Chris Matthews and Daniel Brown do well? Your aspirations for them dont have to come at the expense of Chris Givens, and you dont need to make such a ridiculous effort to make Givens look like a worse receiver than them when he's so clearly not. There's no purpose for it. Chris Givens doesnt have to be a bad receiver in order for you to like them...you're wasting a lot of energy and breath on a ridiculous crusade.
  21. Pass Rusher ------------------- Von Miller, Denver Broncos - never happening Tamba Hali, Kansas City Chiefs - slim chance to none Bruce Irvin, Seattle Seahawks - doable but not likely Nick Perry, Green Bay Packers - ...eh Cornerback ------------------- Josh Norman, Carolina Panthers - never happening Price Amukamara, New York Giants - not much better than what we have if at all Trumaine Johnson, L.A. Rams Janoris Jenkins, L.A. Rams - might be too expensive Sean Smith, Kansas City Chiefs - doubt it Josh Robinson, Minnesota Vikings Offensive Tackle -------------------------- Kelechi Osemele, Baltimore Ravens: best guy in this group, better keep him Russel Okung, Seattle Seahawks: Russell Wilson gets hit way too much for this to sound like a good idea (ambivalent about the rest of these guys. if nothing else, theyll probably be more available than Monroe) Cordy Glenn, Buffalo Bills Donald Penn, Oakland Raiders Kelvin Beachum, Pittsburgh Steelers Wide Receiver ----------------------- Alshon Jeffery, Chicago Bears: never happening. Anquan Boldin, San Francisco 49ers: we already have this guy twice in Smith Senior and Aiken. Too late for this reunion, we tried the 3 possession receiver thing in 2010, it didnt work. Travis Benjamin, Cleveland Browns: or just keep Givens. same dude. (these guys are good depth. Prefer Marvin over Sanu. Neither is a savior though.) Marvin Jones, Cincinnati Bengals Mohamed Sanu, Cincinnati Bengals
  22. ahhh this must be the part where you go REALLY far out of your way to pretend you didnt understand what i said so you can act like you have a point and arent just being an overly sensitive baby about Ngata enjoying his new team. How can you be more tactful than not mentioning your old team at all? do tell? Becaue you're basically mad that Haloti said nice things about the Lions staff (since thats ALL he did) so your request is completely unreasonable considering he hasnt done anything without tact. "I Love playing here. I love playing under coach caldwell." Thats literally all he said. I dont even get where you construe the insult, so what is it exactly that he's supposed to say in order to make YOU feel better? speaking of guys who need to add some sense to their argument....
  23. did you have a point to make here or is this just your fancy way of cheering on people with comments that make sense based on factual information?
  24. The Lions coaching was hired away from us, so it stands to reason he'd talk them up since its the same guys he's been working with his whole career and that actually compliments his old team. He didnt ask to get traded, and he's not gonna go to the new squad and dog em, that doesnt make any sense. relax, stop taking junk personal.
  25. This article isnt about Lequon Treadwell or draft prospects in particular, and the answers to your questions are very googleable. Minus the 40 time, if you search for his name you'll get all that info right on the results page. dont even have to click a link.
