a starting center, wonderful. now if we can convince someone that shipley or gino are worth a pick or two things would be perfect. anyway, looks like we're looking for a guard somewhere in the draft now. Gotta assume Kelechi's the de facto RT unless something really crazy happens and somebody falls hard in the draft.

there are no options left on the market. Oz cant do anything except hope Wagner or some rookie from the draft (or not) skips a couple years in his development.

there's good talent every year, we just dont land it very often and more often than not, we arent trying very hard. THAT's why we have the same problems every season. It makes no sense for this team to bank on a draft pick stepping up given our history picking up receivers in that manner.

no...if you get Steve Smith this year, youre just saying that you dont want to go 8-8 until you finally find good new talent to stick around long term. I dont understand why bridging the gap between the present and the future is such a foreign concept for the majority of this fan base.

Steve Smith helps. doesnt solve the problem though, and i dont think he'd pan out as well as Anquan or Derrick; game isnt the same. Still need somebody else to put on the outside. Take a shot and draft a good receiver. Managed to pull it off with Torrey, do it one more time, and we're set for years.

i guess. some things are less likely than others, and Hostler leaving the staff is one of them. I think Harman's only out because Kubiak's in and he wants to bring in his own TE coach to help install his scheme, which makes sense. A lot of people forget in todays league because they all split out so often and catch so many passes all the time, but TEs are part of the O line and are gonna play a key role in implementing Kubiak's rushing attack, especially since we dont have the type of agile linemen he needs to run that right now.

i think you're grossly over-estimating the prospects of a WR coach. Cant think of anybody whose gonna seriously look at him for OC now, and i cant think of anybody who needs a wide out coach either but any move he does make is likely going to be lateral, which means working with new coaches in a new system, so i dont think he'll leave on his own accord, especially not if those would be his reasons.

since when are we looking for a new Receiver coach? that was only gonna be an issue if Hostler got promoted. he's wont be now, and i doubt after spending two weeks thinking about promoting him we're just going to randomly decide to fire him.

None of those sources said the Ravens were definitely going to hire all these guys. They said Ravens are "trying to assemble a star studded cast of coaches" that COULD mean hiring all these guys, as well as a number of other things. most of you are jumping to conclusions.

I was pretty clearly talking about the OC search and how whether we hire one from inside the organization or outside wont make a difference if we dont beef up the talent they have to work with. you can sit there and try to make up any kind of random little implications or word games you want to make it seem otherwise, but that wasnt ever the case. as a matter of fact, just so there's no ambiguity or confusion, here's the original post with all the keywords and phrases highlighted: see? multiple specific references to the offensive half of our team. so there's that. im not even going to entertain the rest of this, because its all based on the fairy tale premise that i called the defense talent deficient, which i did not.
