we all understand what they're doing: continuing to neglect the offense both in the present and future as they always do until it gets so terrible that they HAVE to do something about it. Understanding that doesnt make it a smart thing to do.
Upshaw is a consistent and reliable run stopper. McPhee has played great at end and is a borderline starter, only reason he wasnt on the field much last year is because coaching staff is experimenting and trying to turn him into an OLB. Cody hasnt lived up to expectations, but he isnt an abhorrent failure either. i dont know where you're getting this "they havent shown they can play" stuff from, i think its jut your favorite thing to say whether its true or not.
And i dont see how bringing in more unknown quantities to add to the ones you already have solves anything. you're trying valiantly and i applaud you for that: but there's no rational justification for ignoring our offense in this draft.
well that's your personal opinion, but it doesnt make sense, i'd say you were the unrealistic one here.
we had two pro-bowl guards flanking a solid center in Birk, and a reliable, serviceable tackle in Oher on one side or the other. only real problem we've had these past few years is LT, never filled that void when Ogden left.
i appreciate the glass half full approach, but realistically: we have 2 quality starters at LT and RG, and two more pretty good guards who may not (actually, probably wont, given how this draft has gone) play guard at all and hope to turn out to be a serviceable center and ok RT.
