  1. Tom Brady is a bit overrated. Tom Brady is not on our team. That happened 17 literal years ago. Technically you don't ever know, but you can be very reasonably certain that mr 186 isnt going to be anything special.
  2. dont have any idea what that's supposed to mean, or why you wrote 6-1 instead of just 5, but in any case: Zuttah wasnt exactly great and he was undersized to begin with. Urschel or Jensen couldnt do much worse, but we definitely want better if we could get it.
  3. "Math guy" has a name. It's Urschel, and for now: yes, that's all we got.
  4. If released what's the odds he gets signed for the same amt or more left on his contract? he keeps his pay and goes to a system/coach who he's familiar with and wants him - win for him. Sf gets a player that fits their system and can contribute by just moving back in the 6th - win for them. We move a guy we were gonna cut and move up a bit in the 6th, which adds value in case of trading the pick. - win for us. dont know, dont care. doesnt matter. 6th round pick is a 6th round pick. The 6th is not a round where there's any value in trading places with someone unless there's somebody that fell dramatically for some odd reason. Those 12 spots didnt change the value of that pick in any significant way.
  5. Others would have rather us "just release him." SMH don't think anybody's saying that. Just pointing out that the net effect is the same. We havent made anybody from the 6th round materialize into anything, moving up 12 spots aint gon change that. the niners are the only ones who actually got anything out of this deal, which is why they took it.
  6. we already had a 6th round pick. Nobody cares about the difference between pick 186 and 198...except for us, apparently.
  7. 5.8 over the next two seasons. its the same as releasing. we didnt get anything extra, we just moved up 12 spots in a nearly irrelevant round .
  8. moving up 12 spots in the 6th round does not count as "get[ting] something in return."
  9. there wont be a shoot out because Brady is super overrated and the skillset of his targets is terribly limited, especially with Gronk out. NE's whole wideout corps is a bunch of small, possession receivers that we've never had trouble blanking in coverage even with a patchwork secondary like we were working with in 2014. That's why they always gotta come up with some crazy nonsense that gets outlawed the next season to get past us. He's not going to be able to lean on Blount like he usually does when he cant beat the coverage either. We'll be fine.
  10. Roethlisberger's cap hit is $23.9M. Brady's cap hit is only lower because it ultimately makes him way more money. If the Ravens Front office would like to hand Joe $40M out of pocket up front, I'm sure he will gladly drop his base salary to whatever they want. Flacco is not "overpaid." Andrew Luck has never been to the superbowl and is making $24M a year.
  11. nobody does this. what you propose is an ideal. the reality is that people launch for a slide off their dominant leg, which obviously cant also be the leg they land on. Joe is right handed like most of the rest of the world.
  12. Drew Brees and the Saints are quite happy with Brandin Cooks, Michael Thomas, Willie Snead, Brandin Coleman, Coby Fleener, and Mark Ingram. They average 319 pass yards per game (best in the league), 114 rush yards per game (9th in the league), and 30.4 points per game (2nd in the league). All 6 of their top passing options have at least 3 TDs each, and aside from Ingram and Coleman, they all have 480+ yards. I have no earthly idea what you're talking about
  13. long as it aint a home game
  14. ok but he didnt ask about Dak, Russell, *Derek (i presume, since im not sure David is even in the league any more and wasnt ever very successful when he was), and Drew...he asked to see what all the people on this thread pretending they know anything about quarterback play could do.
  15. well keep begging, nothing you said made any sense. Joe won the superbowl with a 17th rated defense. Stafford is not playing anything better than Flacco, the only difference between the two up until this season was Calvin Johnson. Last year, half the O line was also injured, Kamar Aiken was the number 1 receiver, and taliaferro/buck allen were the RBs. Joe's also had 5 different O Coords and had his entire offense completely turned over at least 3 times...he hardly ever has any healthy and familiar faces around him...i see your memory is selective. Jay Cutler is not playing well at all. the only reason Hoyer isnt the Bears starting quarterback is because he's on I.R. now. The Chiefs defense is allowing the 3rd fewest points per game in the league with 19. Your "middling" defense is actually as good as ours, they just give up more ultimately irrelevant yards between the 20s, and i have no idea what scale you managed to rank Joe Flacco the 29th best quarterback on, but its obviously something rigged to confirm your own bias. The real question here is if you watch ANY football at all.
  16. everybody's guarding the sidelines on a two minute drill, you cant expect to get out of bounds on every down. If you have timeouts to burn you should certainly throw it down the middle. The Defense will either have to guard the whole field or decide to give you at least 3 points. the objective is to score, not stop the clock. You dont get points for excessive clock management.
  17. That's the problem. Wallace and SSS are good players no longer premier players. The others are simply mediocre players. Waller? Really? We have great receivers. We could have OBJ, Dez Byant, Amari Cooper, Larry Fitzgerald etc. and there wouldn't be any difference there would be quite a difference. all those guys are called playmakers, meaning they dont need all the stars to align in order to be successful and productive. They MAKE the PLAY work, regardless of the circumstances. we dont have that. never really have. lack of playmaking aside, we're still underachieving for the level of talent we have, shouldnt be so unproductive.
  18. Young played off of everybody all 4 quarters in Dallas, and Joe threw the only TD anybody scored today; no turnovers. You dont even watch these games.... what its really time to stop doing is complaining about Joe's paycheck. Its beyond old and nonsensical. The 15th highest paid quarterback in the league by average yearly salary is Colin Kaepernick at $19M and some change. Aside from Ryan Tannehill (19.25M) and Kirk Cousin (BARELY under $20M, 19.95M, and he's due for a massive raise after this season anyway), EVERYbody else is $20M or above. That means any half way decent quarterback is going to cost you at least $20M. You wanna pay a non-rookie quarterback less than $20M? Your best options are Stafford, Cutler, and Alex Smith. None of them are better than Joe. So get over it. let that horse die.
  19. Agree but I ask this; when is Harbs going to be held accountable for his coaches? Doesn't he review the game plans? It's obvious from his press conference he didn't even realize Trestman abandoned the run yesterday. When is he going to learn how to manage a game and make the necessary in game changes? your question doesnt make sense. you're basically asking him to be the offensive coordinator. he's a special teams guy. He made a hire, it didnt work, he replaced the guy. what do you want? No, I'm not asking him to be the OC but he is the HC who has the responsibility to oversee every facet of the game just like every other person in his position. Great, he's a special teams guy - where is he on the Special Teams then? if youre asking him to oversee the offense, youre asking him to be the OC. thats the OC's job.
  20. To possibly clarify... As a fan, I was screaming "why did we stop running the ball" during the game. As a head coach, harbs should've walked over and asked trestman wth is he doing and then what? Trestman's still gonna be the one calling the plays.

  22. no he's not. He hasnt done anything but consistently produce top 12 defenses.
  23. we heard you the first time. Ignoring solvable problems just because others exist doesnt make any sense.
  24. for the best.
