OLB Chris Carter made the team over Ochi and Brooks. Idk about all that. Sheldon Price and Carter are not better then a number of these guys.
I would have kept Brooks over Lewis but I think that had more to do with the big contract they gave Kendrick and there might be dead money. I havent been impressed by him at all, at least when Brooks has played I can see a guy who wants to get better. He to me should have made it over Price. Shoot can you imagine getting hit by him on special teams!? Butler is another guy, I honestly don't have any confidence that the 5 guys we did keep will stay healthy. We shall see but on paper we might have the worst wr corps in the league. Only saying that because we don't know what Mike Wallace we will get and we have two rookies. Breshad is a rookie and been injured too much and Moore I havent even seen the kid make plays in the preseason. What the heck are we doin. Of and yeah Sr. ain't gonna play right away either I can gurantee you that.
Looks like James Hurst.
I don't see why ppl keep talking aboout Monroe we should back our starting LT and stop being so neg as if dude if horrible. We don't have any other options that would work right now Stanley would get eaten alive are you crazy. If we want to win games we need him Healthy and thats just it, other then that Eugene has been one of the better LT in the NFL. It's not easy finding guys like him. Another yr to prove that contract is all he needs. I think our O as a whole is better this yr and if not for him also being injuried week one last yr would have been a dramatic difference. We need to worry more about Joe playing better and finally being that elite QB then Monroe. Idk if it's just me but he still just holds onto the ball too long and get flustered too quick when pressured. I've seen wr get seperation throughout his career and he doesn't get rid of it on time. Which comes to my point not comparing Ryan Mallet to Joe but Mallet seemed to understand the importance of timing and getting rid of the ball quick before pressure gets there. Joe has no excuses this yr at all, I think he will have a career yr.
Him and Webb together mixing things up will be a perfect match. Both intelligent players clean off the field and are perfect examples for our other young safties. The more depth the better, I think Elam and Brooks are going to grow a lot this yr wether they play special teams only or in rotation which I believe they will. Our secondry is sured up now. I hope we are able to get pressure this yr. We will be relying on younger guys this yr more then ever. Suggs won't be rushed back. Expect to see a different kind of Ravens D this yr.
Not only that we like to pick and choose when we take players with off the field issues like Tunsil, Spence, Burfict, Jimmy Smith etc but we draft a guy in the 4th rd who was arrested and had to transfer schools because he choose to jump a guy and bash dudes head into a brick wall or w.e. Just funny how we pick and choose but it will end up bitting us in the booty if we keep doing this. Some good players we have past on in the past. Look up Alex Lewis.
You pick and choose your poisons based off of risk/reward.
A guy like Jimmy Smith had issues with weed that the Ravens were sure they could clean up and he had lock down corner potential with rare size and speed for the position. Smith also was a 27th overall pick. Tunsil was slotted to us at #6 and would be responsible for protecting a franchise QB and he has shown some very poor judgement. It wasn't just about the pot. He was in Robert Nkemdiche's apartment when Nkemdiche fell out of the 4th floor window. He was involved in a domestic abuse altercation with his father in law and both men provided different stories to what happened. He accepted payment in college and was dumb enough to leave the transactions on his cell phone. Then there is the pot thing. Also, he was never able to stay on the field due to numerous injuries. How's that sounding for a top 10 pick?
Alex Lewis served his time and he says he's grown up from the altercation. Did he? Nobody really knows until he lives his life some more. But the risk here is a 4th round pick with the potential to have a starting guard or possible swing/starting tackle. He gets in trouble you cut him and cost yourself some thousands of dollars instead of multiple millions.
Ok I guess you didn't read the first part when I said that Stanley isn't that much better then then the other to Tackles in this draft. Your lecturing about risk/reward the why didn't we trade down. Could have gotten a 2nd or 3rd for that 6th pick and taken the top edge rusher in this class. Funny ecause I'm always right. When Lawson makes Stanley look more like a late 1st rd RT week one your gonna say damn that FLBOYRAVEN sure was right we should have used that top pick on a PROVEN top defensive player. Spriggs is just as good or better and we could have got him mid 2nd, thats value. Vontaze Burfict going undrafted the yr when we knew Sugar was gonna retire and he was the top projected ilb that would have been value but we pick and choose. La'el Collins goes undrafted and we waste late rd draft picks on guys like Waller. Monroe is on the roster and played a lot better then ppl have given him credit for, he just needs to stay healthy. Seems like latley we have been making the wrong risk/reward moves that we would normaly take. If Lawson kicks Stanley butt week one and Tunsil turns out to be a stud like Tyron someone needs to start getting looked at for a new job. Too many busted draft picks over the last few yrs. We just haven't been getting much value with our top picks and thats evident that they are all no longer on our roster. It's not science fiction Ed it's fact.
You do realize that Stanley already dominated Lawson this past year.....And you do also realize that Ozzie and others in the draft room said that NO ONE was calling to trade for that pick (Fact). So, please tell us how you make a trade back without another team? I guess your imaginary team would trade us their imaginary 2nd to move up?
When was this dominating performance this past yr. I recall Clemson kicking butt. Stanley was beat man to man many times, they tried to run away from Lawsons side actually so again your opinion is just that "Fried bolognia". Now the trade part is what it is can't harp on that but don't act like there weren't other players that are better more clean players that can step in now. Stanley wold be a RT and to draft a RT or G that high is redick. He's not that much better then some of the other top T in this draft. If he starts at LT this yr I see him struggling against stronger guys. Maybe a few yrs from now but a 6th overall pick to me should be plug and play. Buckner, Lawson, Eli Apple, Rankins are solid. Just like the yr Aaron Donald was drafted I said he might just be the best player in the draft, everyone was giving me neg feedback just like you are now. But hey its ok to have your own views on your team just like I do.

We keep talking about Correa what about Stanley, will he be any better then the several other tackles taken in this draft? To answer that no I don't think so. If guys like Lawson, Buckner, Spriggs, Shepard, Ragland etc end up being better then I'll be mad because we could have traded down from 6th and got any one of these combos. I wanted Lawson in the first he didn't get selected till like 19th, coulda got some good picks from that. I projected Ragland to fall out the first because the issue with his heart so in the 2nd he coulda been a steal but we needed a tackle and who would be better then Spriggs!? I had us taking Lawson and then Spriggs in the 2nd, he fell to the middle of the 2nd how do we not see that value in that, he will be a better pro then the Tackles picked in the first just watch. Hes faster, Stronger and just better the Stanley who I think is soft. Another player I really wanted is Sterling Shepard who might just be the next Steve Smith for the next 10 yr. But hey who am I just a ravens fan right.
rd1-- Shaq Lawson
rd2-- Jason Spriggs/Reggie Ragland?
rd3-- Sterling Shepard= Smith Sr. vol.2
rd4-- Xavian Howard/Cyrus Jones
rd4-- Deion Jones
rd4-- Shawn Oakman
rd4-- Paul Perkins
Shaq Lawson hasnt gotten much buzz from us by I've been saying throughout this whole process that he will be a better pro then Bosa.
Funny ppl talk like our db's are horrible because of Dean Pee's. We just haven't really invested in the cb position in some time via the draft. The FA thats some of you are saying played horrible here actually have it backwards. Carey Williams was brought in after he was with the Titans and we developed him into a SB starting cb. Ihedigbo was from NE and when he came here he only became a better player. Same for Darian Stewart. Sorry because of our success players leave for bigger contracts which is fine we get comp picks for them. Jimmy Smith is a top 5 cb in this league. Yeah they put up stats about what A.J Green did to him but thats b.s there were other players to blame for that but its funny you don't here about when he shuts down these top wr every yr but when they do have a decent game Jimmy is a bumb. smh Injuries have also pleagued us the last few seasons, not being able to see players full potential. Its a part of the game. Brooks and Elam will be fine trust me. Yes Kendrick Lewis just sucks and we know that we already ate that bullet. This yr we have to draft a young cb to develop. That guy was Tray Walker R.I.P.
Idk how much higher we value Bosa over the other edge rushers in this draft. Just as Za'Darius played opposite to Dupree and is a better pro I think the same might happen to Joey because he didnt do nearly as good after Spence left and looked slow. Shaq Lawson is the best Clemson de to come out in yrs so I hope he isnt being judged because other former Tigers have been busts. I like Tunsil if hes there at 6 but he has injury concerns not playing a full season in college. Ramsey and Buckner if at 6 i'd take. Saying that Im high on Lawsons playing style, stout against the run, can get pressure off the edge and he plays angry. Says he watches old footage of Reggie White.
No doubt I think Orr will be the week 1 starter. Which to me means we need to add another to create comp with Brown who to me just hasn't shown anything. He dosen't have the love for the game that other former Raven ilb displayed. Saying that I think Oz and co. should strongly consider my boy Scooby Wright iii. He plays with heart and passion for the game which can never be taught. Also he is a student of the game and makes many plays on instincts alone. If not for a minor injury filled final season we would all be hearing about him more. He will be a steal this yr so hopefully we can snag him with one of our numerous selections in this yrs draft.
At least webb can play cb too, Lewis on the other hand cant even play his natural position. Waste of money if he rides the bench while weddle and hill lock down the saftey positions. With the 6th pick we need an edge rusher like Shaq Lawson or a cb. Him and Hargraves will be available, please don't settle for a Tackle Urchel will hold down Kelechi old spot and Monroe will be better. Jason Spriggs Im telling you is the 2nd best Lt in the draft and can contribute day one.
We have 3 guys under contract and we don't know what position they will ultimately play. Weddle can play both saftey positions, Webb to me would be decent at fs, Will Hill is SS only and Kedrick Lewis is the black sheep that we need to get rid of. Sucks because his contract is so fresh. Terrence Brooks will be a good ss eventually hes nasty. Elam and him are great young backups but I can see a team trying to reach out to get Hill or Lewis.
Myles Jack might be the most overrated player to come out in a long time. Please stop hyping dude up because I haven't seen anything special that I haven't already seen.
The more players we have to develop the better for us. We are the best at developing talent.
I honestly don't think some of the more talked about guys like Bosa, Ramsey, Stanley etc are that much better then some of the other talent in this draft. I think trading back is a great idea because the guys I think fit us as great bang for their buck picks will still be available. I'm not sure what rd these guys are projected but I like Xavien Howard and Jason Spriggs. I believe both will be there in the 2nd. It's possible to trade down to the 20's and pick up extra 2nd rd picks.
Pees is good but this season he has made some bad defensive calls. I mean there were many times he had guys playing zone when they should be playing man. Not having safety help over the to when you can clearly see that the opponents are attacking specific players throughout a game. Jimmy should always be on the top player and playing man. Pees is trying to change our philosophy too much. I honestly thought Ted Macho Man was gonna be our new Coordinator yrs ago. He knows how to get pressure, Pees lacks in that area. This yr when we have blitzed we got hit the QB, Mosley probably only blitzed a handful of times and has 4 sacks. IDK if Pees is a Patriot insider but this yr was very fishy with his playcalling.
We need better play from our safeties period. It's like we're doing things backwards with taking put Will Hill for Webb and not Kendrick Lewis. I bet if you look up stats he might just be the worst rated safety this yr. Will Hill should have been playing SS with Webby at FS. Also this yr we need a top Cb or passrusher at #6 I think with guys coming back from injuries we will be fine at wr. We have one of the best Te groups too do that helps. Upshaw has been disappointing, this yr has his worst yet to me. With all the snaps he's had he should have made more plays, he might be better in the trenches if you ask me.
Are you kidding me Jimmy Smith is one of the best shut down corners in the League. Before his injury last yr he was shutting down everyone and was rated by pff as the 3rd best CB in the league. This yr has clearly been a lack of a pass-rush and very poor play from our safeties and slot Cb. Bad coverage by our ilb also didn't help. My personal opinion is Dean Pees plays farr too much zone coverage and I see defenders out of place too often. So IDK who you blame so if the stuff I've seen this yr just boggles my mind. Kendrick Lewis was a horrible off-season acquisition, waste of money because we already had guys who can play his position. Hope we do away with him also, dude can't cover, tackle, catch, play the DEEPEST MAN! Dude has no awareness, should just had Levine playing.
Trade Monroe any chance you get. He is still a good young LT a team will want him. Sign K.O he is the future of this line, Yanda won't be around forever. Zuttah is decent but not much of an upgrade over Urchel. Joe does need to restructure because he's been playing like crap. Mallet actually had a sense of urgency to get rid of the ball and hit guys come NY out there breaks, must be his time in NE because Joe still hasn't learned this. Not saying Ryan is anywhere near Joe but I honestly do think Joe just hasn't been coached about getting rid of the ball faster, he just holds on a sec or two too long.
I also like Brooks more. He should be the fs and Will Hill be the FS.

Sorry but this play lost us the game. The D held up there end throughout the game so when you get a 4th and long you just take it. Let them kick a fg and if we lose by fg so be it, but you don't give an offense that was already gaining momentum another opprutunity. By far the worst decision Harbs has ever made. I'm pretty sure the D thought it was too as they were on the field all damn game and saw a 4th down as a win. Smh we should be 4-0 no doubt in my mind this game was lost by coaching. Trestman is not that great a play caller I think we are starting to see that.
