YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I missed Mason, Bolton and now you Mr. Smith you will be missed most. There was a profound trust with all these guys. The intangible fire in the belly that made us cheer for all of you. More regret with SSS because he allowed us to actually see him.
Going to miss you.
if sss was drafted by the ravens he would have been another bum. this team cannot draft or develop receivers for some reason.
I've been questioning this for years. We can't develop WR's because we haven't had the skill to get skilled coaches. Crazy!
#2 is so true when it comes to flacco. he has not had the chance to master a specific system like brady and manning have but he also needs to put in the work to be better.
Agree on both counts. Flacco has the physical skills and for all the moaning and groaning I saw improvement in Joe. Not as much as desired but; improvement.
At his worst he's better then most. People don't really watch other games and really watch QB's in relation to the O-line, receivers, play calling and the other teams defense. Everyone seems to ignore that other teams defense factor. We have pretty close to the most vanilla play calling in the NFL.
Teams don't even need to game plan for us. They know what our O is going to do and they know our D is going to fold in the 4th quarter. I love the term another poster used "Bend don't win", perfect!
Everyone wants to blame someone and Joe's big paycheck makes him first man up. It just isn't that simple. (IMHO)
If Flacco was as capable as Brady, Manning, Rodgers he could help define the offensive approach. After this many years, Flacco still can't read defenses effectively. With that said, for most of his career there hasn't been one big game receiver on this team, let alone a couple. The Steelers have quietly drafted and traded for big game receivers and a runner. They are the most dangerous team in the playoffs, IMO.
I agree. I knew they were going to have Miami for lunch. The other team the Pats. The first round was boring, maybe this week will stir up some interest.
Ya. Another running back is what we need. That way we have 3 good RBs that'll barely touch the ball. THAT'S the answer. Phew - now my confidence is restored.
Oh come, it cuts down on injuries...
Seems as though every day it becomes more apparent that Harbaugh and gang really don't have a clue.
All I know is I look at Harbaugh and if his mouth is moving he's lying about something. Doing his rah, rah and double speak. After 9 years, he should have a better grasp of what is needed to stay competitive.
He's stumbling around like a blind man grasping any and everything he can without any real fore thought. This team has had issues for too long not to already have a viable plan.
There is going to be a large amount of turnover this year as usual. That is why you need good coaching, real management, leadership and continuity.
I'm still burning over the Pat's game. Harbaugh and his coaches were totally exposed for the poser's they really are. They show up unprepared and get their butts kicked. How after all these years do you not know that Billy B. McCheat game plans down to where to put the water bottles. He has a plan and a back up plan we have "Well we thought they would do this or that ugh bummer"
Oh well it's just a game.....
This is going to be a very bad year coming up. I know Bisciotti didn't get rich in business by hiring his buddies and firing everyone else. I understand that he likes to delegate and in business that is fine because when people underperform he eventually fires them but it doesnt work that way with fans. When fans keep seeing stupidity emanating from their team, they expect that someone will step in and fix it or (and ask the Orioles) your fans disappear. I guess they dont need to ask the Orioles, they could have looked in their own stands. Not only are we a crappy team, but the fans are starting to bail out. When John went to Steve and said we are keeping Marty and Juan, Steve should have saved a year and went ahead and fired him because he's going to have to do it next year anyway. Only bad part is he is now losing the fan base.
I remember when Orioles games were sold out for years when they first built Camden Yards and were winning. Then they decided to make poor decisions and now, even in a penant race, they were drawing like 15,000 fans/game. That's sad. Unfortunately, that story is repeating itself with the Ravens and it is a shame that Bisciotti doesn't realize that once you lose the fans, its not a matter of changing coaches and its all okay (once again, see the Orioles).Your are right just put it off another year and there will be less quality coordinators available
I agree, I'm a Ravens fan. But; I will not watch or support a team the thrives on stupidly.
This is not near the organization it used to be. Hmm wonder why?
OH wait that's Joe's fault too.
John, why don't you NOT do it as fast as you can. Try doing it right if that takes time, it takes time.
I have no trust in this man. His talent appraisals have been less then outstanding. His ability to grasp, admit and then fix short comings is just plan non- existent. What we don't need is more of his homies. He may be on the right track surround yourself with good qualified people. If they test you now and then deal with it.
What has hurt him more than anything is surrounding himself with mediocrity. He does not have the management skills or the football IQ to overcome these deficits.
""“Harbaugh is taking into account that not all of the offensive troubles stemmed from Mornhinweg. Quarterback Joe Flacco didn't see the field well and rushed more throws one year removed from knee surgery. The offensive line didn't consistently protect Flacco or open up holes in the running game. And the offense lacked game-breakers at wide receiver, tight end and running back.""
Oh, John your a genius! None of us saw that, really! Did you see your DC throwing games with bend don't, try?
**********************************************************
This really is no surprise. Making constant changes that are not well thought out are stupid.
Maybe Mister Mediocrity 9 years into being a head coach will do his home work and be responsible, finally. Because he has not in the past done his job. Done critical evaluations, done research or made any attempt to help his QB, or to educate or evaluate himself. Get out of that bubble boy and drag you coaches and Joe with you.
I personally think this is all bull. (Bull is all he knows, hopefully we are finally to put up or shut up). Will see.
The only improvement was the Miami game. We need a running game. Can we get a good rb please. So much inconsistency at many positions but we all see what zek has done for Dallas.
we already have 2 very good running backs the OC was just to stupid to use them
Dallas has also provided zek with an O-line and a running game that is used.
I wonder if Harbaugh is actually from this planet. Worse loss of the season, really? Where have you been? We played poorly games we lost and just as poorly games we won. This is an average team that will remain second rate as long as Harbaugh is here.
This game had no meaning and who can blame guys for not wanting to get hurt for NOTHING! Or be able to get fired up for NOTHING. Even though it was oblivious there was no real heart out there it still wasn't the worst game by a long shot.
Now another season of MR Mediocrity, Priceless!
I don't believe Harbaugh is a good coach, I also don't believe he is a bad coach. He is ok if your happy being average. We have the same problems over and over. Even though I think we should send him packing I also realize we can't.
What needs to really happen is Mr. B. having a long hard talk with Harbaugh. No more Castillo. No more Morningweg, no more good ole boys. We need a proven aggressive OC coach and a Proven O line coach and a proven WR's coach, who have never been buds or co-workers with John. .
I would love to see Rex come back as DC, that can't happen because Harbaugh would not do well with Rex's strong personality. Rex most likely wouldn't come back anyway.
Pee's has proven he can put a top-flight defense on the field. Seems he can't follow instructions or was NEVER given any instructions. I would vote for the “NEVER”. New rule - From Mr. B, no more bend don’t break.
There should be consistency in coaching and leadership, be that leadership, management or players. With the yearly shuffle of players being so high, consistency in performance is difficult. That’s why the coaching staff is so important. Identity and focus must be taken seriously.
Our head coach is so busy trying to be everyone's buddy and being on TV he doesn't know what the left hand is doing. I don't believe he has ever watched a minute of tape. He certainly isn't a detail guy and follow up is not in his dictionary.
Who's in charge of game planning?
I'd say get some new blood in the coaching trenches, give Harbaugh strong instructions and lets see what we can make better. You can't dismantle the whole team. That only works if your really lucky and have 3-5yrs to wait/waste....
Didn't even bother to read whatever Eisenberg wrote up there. Anything short of firing Harbaugh won't result in much progress. The Ravens need fiery, demanding and no-nonsense coaches that would provide accountability and leadership that the Ravens so clearly lack. Problem is, Harbaugh never hires that kind, he detests them, and only hires washed up, docile types that are just grateful to have a job.
-I've thoroughly studied Harbaugh, and I just don't like him as a head coach. I'll throw out two instances(of many) that are very telling: (1). Still boggles my mind that he hired an unaccomplished college position coach in Greg Mattison to become our DC, successfully producing some of the worst Ravens defenses we've seen. Passed over all the quality people in-house, and somehow convinced management to let him reduce the Ravens coaching staff to something he uses to shore up his friendships. Now, we are loaded with a cast of reject coaches(mostly from Philadelphia) with absolutely nothing to show for it. (2) One of the first things Harbaugh did when he got to Baltimore was to summon Ray Lewis and tell him that he was no longer allowed to do his pre-game dance. It didn't matter to Harbaugh that his teammates and the fans look forward to that dance, it got them fired-up and it was pretty much tradition with the Ravens. Nah, it was now 'the harbaugh show' and he was selfishly going to do things his way...forget the Ravens way! Ray Lewis, being the wise fellow he is did not take offense to it, but told him to consult with the rest of the team before reaching that decision...the rest of the players told Harbaugh that there was no way he could get rid of the dance! Ray Lewis steadied the ship for Harbaugh many times over the years, whenever his head-scratching decisions irked a veteran team, but with that initial selfish and egotistical move, he could have completely alienated the best player on his team, if not the whole team. Sure, it's not all Harbaugh's fault, but his fragile ego would never let him hire the right coaches who coach the Ravens' way, thus he's impeding the progress of this team. I expect many to disagree with me, but two years from now when we're still mired in mediocrity some of you would come around. Happy holidays!Yes I'm sure he is really upset that you don't like him. I would imagine you would feel differently had we won. Fans always blame the coach when things go sour. I'm sure you hated him when we were in the playoffs constantly or when we won the SB. Fickle fans. Happy New Year.
I agree with everything you say. I was one of many who said out of the gate when Ray, Ed and others were gone Harbaugh's lack of skill and foundation would take this team down. It has. I didn't think he was a good coach when we were winning and guess what I still think he is sorely lacking. He will be and we will be just as mediocre next year.
I've said many times I don't think he's a bad man. I do believe he's a mediocre coach. I also believe time has proven that statement.
Everyone moans and groans about Joe having 9 yrs at QB and not improving. I believe he has improved a lot.
Lets look at Harbaugh he's had 9 yrs to learn how to be a head coach, he still makes the same bone headed mistakes, he still lies, he still can't manage the clock and we still slow up for games so woefully unprepared it's criminal. Think Raiders, think Pats, boy that was a big one. Look at Sundays game Bell ran over all over us. Why.
I doesn't appear that any coach on this team watches a second of film. Game plans don't exist, in game corrections don't exist, half time adjustments don't exist WHY?
Next year we will have the same bad coaches, coaching badly. We will be the same full of heart and desire mediocre team we are right now. Because all the mediocre asst coaches and positions coaches will still be here. Terrific..................
We only made the playoffs once since Ray Lewis & company left and the one time is credited to Kubiak. Bye Harbaugh, you clearly have nothing for us in Baltimore. People keep saying OC & DC when the true problem is the HC.
amen

I hope we can draft high in the 2017-18 season!!! And we need a new OC and DC for the ones we have stunk up the place and a new head coach for we have not made the playoff for a while with the ones we have, maybe a change is needed!!!
I Truly think Harbaugh has to go, his old BFF coaching staff has proven they can't hack it. Costello can't put an average "O" line on the field, Morningweg can't design or even call a decent game and Pee's is ok, but; bend don't break at the end of games doesn't work.
****Mediocrity***** is all your ever going to have with John
We need to go back to rough and tumble aggressive smash mouth football. Because even if you lose the game's at least fun to watch.
The defense has gotten a lot of credit for a secondary that continues, year after year, to give up critical scores, easily, to opposing teams. For years we have played bend don't break that ends up breaking in the 4th quarter. The scheme doesn't work in today's passing NFL. You can't keep blaming Flacco and the offense, they have put up numbers the last couple games to win and the defense collapsed. As much as we have screamed at Marty and Joe, in the grand scheme of things, it is Pees defense that continues to fail us year after year. We need to figure this secondary thing out and resolve our corner issues. Smith wilts like a soft soft. Every tough game he can't suit up or leaves in the first half, and our other side needs a good long outside corner so Young can play the slot. How does out defense fold up like this year after year after year, because it's Pees scheme that fails us year after year.
Couldn't agree more. Bend don't break works kinda with sub par teams. Pats, Squealers, ah not so much. Play not to lose and you lose, it's the mindset that makes it fall apart. Play not to get hurt and you get hurt.
Defense let them drive the last few minutes their heart was not in it this game maybe xmas made them lackadaisical no pass rush at all let him roll to the right all night.... Offense had no play makers other then SSsr (i feel for the homie). Flacco's contract is holding alot of people back from staying and making a better team. Be a Brady and let loose for some options.
He did that last off - were you paying attention?
Steelers HATE list for me:
#1 Tiny Ben, just because he is a whiner and always hurt (wink, wink)
#2 Hines Ward, because he's a jerk and a dirty player
The rest of the Steelers are just guys playing a game. Not wishing Tomlin was my new BFF, who is?
So, we're at the point when our beloved Ravens can't even win in a way that leaves us happy. Yep, a W is a W - but we are not the Browns or Jags to be happy about any W, no matetr how it was achieved... Yep, there are some games where the W is the ONLY thing (the Super Bowl, any palyoff game, any steelers game, any Pats game) - but other times the game is also important. And today was just disheartening. When we hoped the O would maybe play something as good as the D - the D tried to play as bad as the O... and all this before the steelers game... If things don't change radically in a week, it's gonna be a whitewash in Pittshburgh... and not in our favor. So far we had an O that faltered, playing frighteningly inconsistently, but at least we had a D to rely on. Today we had the same O - with a D that didn't resemble the one we've had so far...
This was the game I've given up on Harbaugh. I simply can't believe in him anymore, sorry. And even if we end up winning the Super Bowl (yeah, I know...) I won't ever believe in him. This season was about his unraveling. Last season there was all the injuries to put the blame on - this season it's become painfully obvious that it's not the roster to blame. I'm convinced we have the players to be much, much better a team than who we currently are. I'm more than sure that if we had the coaching staff half as good as the Pats have, we'd long be in the playoffs...
But we have Harbaugh and Mornhinweg... and a team that's simply no fun to watch, but 3 hours of mostly agony. Please, Steve... give us back our entertaining Ravens.
We can be thankful we have Pees and a lot of great players who are somehow able to counter all the coaching nightmare we've seen so far...I think this season, it is quite obvious that our coaching is not very good. I can't defend it this season at all!
I agree it's so clearly obvious that Harbaugh is in way over his head. The majority of our coaching staff is just not good. We have players that play their hearts out yet we get worse and worse.
I'm at a loss about Joe, he has the talent but; seems to get worse every week. I do understand that receivers are not doing what is needed all the time and today Joe had to throw the ball away to avoid interceptions at least 2 times that I saw. The interception that he had well I don't know. I really like Joe. I think with the right coaching Joe and this offense could be very good. At this moment in time they stink!
Unless we make some changes, big changes we will be watching this game or worse for the next how many years without the gift of unearned wins. Another thing that bothered me, the players seemed to be unaware of how poorly they played? How does that happen?
I agree watching this game today was agony.....
Lets get honest this is not a good team. Once again they showed up completely unprepared. Really bad.
We need an "O" line coach. I know, guys hurt, people moving around but; come on this was pathetic.
Joe was hot and cold mostly cold, the "D", was horrible and Pees and Morningwig go right back to horrible play calling.
I can't imagine any team losing to this team. They are so Vanilla, you don't even have to game plan for us. Every week just the same thing over and over. We didn't beat Philly. They embarrassed us in every phase except kicker. They did us one big favor. They knew even if they won they weren't going to the playoffs so why not practice.
Disgusting!
Everyone is upset about our lousy showing in New England. I have to shake my head sometimes. Did anyone really think the Ravens just saw the light during the Miami game and now we're top tier. Really??
The Ravens are the same team they were on game 1 weekend. They are improving. They are still middle of the pack. I put the level of thrashing we received on Harbaugh and gang. It was embarrassing. Your playing Tom Brady and Billy McCheat and you show up completely unprepared, AGAIN!!
I could jump up and down and scream. They game plan for us long and detailed because they are truly expecting a tough, tough game. What do we do? It appears not much.
It's the same problem we have and will continue to have, poor coaching, non-existent planning, never an alternate game plan, nor half time adjustments.
Tom Brady and Billy McCheat are the best QB and coach tandem in football now or ever! What's the word on Billy B. he will take away what you want to do, disrupt your timing, trick you and cheat whenever possible? We were prepared for none of that. Our guys looked frightened, confused, stunned and lost. AND THEY WERE, WHY?
Was all of this a surprise, guess so. Billy B. McCheat can go to homeless shelters and take bums and make them stars, why? Good coaching, discipline. He gets good OC, DC coaches, play callers, line coaches etc., ball boys all the way to the guy who fills the vending machine I would bet.
He doesn't have his buddies and cronies in key positions. If they don't measure up their gone. And most important he pays attention to details and manages his coaches.
Do you believe this is just luck or he is some evil genius? He probably is a genius and he certainly is evil, but; it's the details and the knowledge.
What do we have complacency and mediocrity at every level. That's what we will continue to get.....

I live in Florida now and tried NFL Sunday Ticket very expensive and though they assured me I would be able to see ALL the Ravens games, that is a big lie. What a bunch of scammers. I saw all of 6 games on Sunday Ticket didn't have access to 3 games especially the Ravens v. Steeler games and watched the others on local TV.
So I watched less then 6 games on Sunday Ticket but have to pay for them all and still watch 2 hours of commercials. Plus listen to these horrible commentators.
There's another fun part of football. Trying to watch Green Bay - Dallas with that clown Akin. I'd rather go to the dentist. The man spews nonsense, will not shut up for 5 seconds. All these guys are awful I end up turning off the sound every time for most of the game and all the commercials.
I won' t be bothering with any of it next year. The refs are awful, the commentators are awful the endless commercials are mind numbing and with all the changes the games are boring. Yep I want to spend my time and money being annoyed. It's supposed to be entertainment it isn't!!
