    I would love to see a poll of how many people today, as opposed to yesteryears, agrees that Flacco should even be on this team moving forward. 

     

    The guy has been really bad.  He brings no outstanding qualities to the position.  His big arm comes to mind here, but he is so inaccurate it doesn't matter.

    Can we put Flacco on that list?  I'm really curious how many teams would want him at his current contract.  

    The reason we are stuck with him is because nobody in the league will take him at his current number.

    Why even come in here if you dont want to discuss Flacco?  Flacco is the topic of the thread and to be brutally honest the guy isn't very good at all.  He capitalized of the best playoff run that any QB has had in history.  We paid him like those numbers would manifest again at some point in his career. He is the epitome of overrated and overpaid.

    I doubt it.  They say he is smart.  Yet he runs college plays.  The man needs a lot of help.  To get the help he needs he has to take a paycut or get off our team.  It's that simple.

    In the regular season, Flacco is more like Jay Cutler than he is like anything that resembles "elite". Flacco's best attributes is that he plays well in the clutch--a rare attribute. Unfortunately if he doesn't play in any big games, he is rather pedestrian and the numbers support that. In fact, Jay Cutler's career QBR rating is higher than Flacco's. That I find comical.

    Facts:

    -Taylor has more WINs the last 2 years

    -Taylor has more Pro Bowl nods

    -Taylor has thrown more TDs (despite less passing attempts)

    -Taylor has thrown less INTs

    -Taylor has rushed for over 1100 yards

    -Taylor has rushed for 10 TDs

    -Taylor has a higher QBR rating over the last 2 years (he is top 10 in QBR rating)

    The reason the Bills benched Taylor is because of financial reasons and the guaranteed money in his contract, plus the fact that they have new coaching next year.

     

    Again your argument or lack thereof of one is not a very convincing one.

    This....... They cant believe it because Flacco was suppose to be so much better.    LMAO.......

    Flacco wished he could play like this.

    I think we need a better strong safety and free safety.  Eric weddle is above average but with all his assisted tackles and not enough solo tackles makes me wonder if his best years are behind him.  Ladarius Webb is a better tackler than Weddle but Weddle is better at picking the ball off.  Maybe their roles need to be reversed. I truly dont like either of them manning the back end.  I need some pop at safety.

    Brandon williams stats are on par with last season. I dont see any issues in his game. He's been healthy and he's a model Raven. You talk about being pushed into the linebackers?  

     

    That's what happens to a good defense when the offense is so inept.  

     

    Our defense is priority for me.  Our offense will never strike fear in the hearts of any defense unless we develop a stellar running game (which is likely) because throwing the ball is not our strong suit. 

     

     

    Debating Flacco should be almost automatic at this point.  He doesn't bring the IT factor to the game and he doesn't deserve to get paid like he does. At this point i could care less how we offload him, just get him outta here.

    AVG for last 2 years:

    QBR rating Taylor 95.0

    QBR rating Flacco 83.0

    TDs / Ints

    Taylor 37TD/12Ints

    Flacco 34TD/27Ints

    Taylor also had 1100 yards rushing for another 10 TDs and 1 Pro Bowl selection.

     

    Hey I will take Taylor in the regular season and Flacco in the playoffs.

    This pretty much sums it up.  Joe is who we thought he was. Average QB that can AT TIMES elevate his game during the playoffs. Not really earth shattering numbers being put up.  This in a season were he has thrown more balls then any other QB in football and still has pedestrian numbers.

    That's because we constantly play five yards down the field.   

    For Flacco to have such a big arm, defenses play him shallow.  I really dont think any defense is threatened by JOE FLACCO!

    Noone will read anything negative about Flacco.  It's right there in their face.  Flacco doesn't need another year on this team being the absolute starter.  He needs a legitimate backup to push him.  His game is garbage.

    Seeing as thought both SSS and Wallace had better  production than Sanu and Gabriel i'd say you're right to say SSS and Wallace are better, when you have a freak that can put up 300 yards a single game and often draws double if not triple teams, I'd say it's safe to say he impacts coverage for those guys. Again calling a spade.

    You pointed out Sr missed games. He's saying, why would you expect Wallace to be great? He was nothing in Minn/Mia... so if anything his increased production is a testament to Joe, not his lack of production being a knock on Joe.

    Because, Wallace isnt suddenly an Odell or Brown type guy whose QB should be expected to easily complete 75 balls for 1,400 yds to.

     A rookie QB in Minnesota and Ryan Tannehill is who Flacco draws comparison to.  

    This is certainly not a testament to Joe.  

    In fact, I think it sums up his career here in Baltimore.  Mediocre!

    I hope the Ravens swallow the pill and draft his successor this draft or next at the latest at the very least it will light a fire . Joe needs to compete for his job just like every other player on the team. Hopefully we see a real competition, sooner the better.

    We have been saying all of this all season!   Why is our fan Base so Wacko for Flacco?  The guy is proving to be a bum at the position.  You can bring in any players you want and it wont fix the problem.  

     

    I dont think his team respects what he brings to the table for the money he is getting.  

    An average QB making elite money.  Who wants to play on a team like that?  You're likely going to get one contract and done.  We wont be able to keep our good players.  I would keep Williams and let Flacco roll.

    Williams has not earned the contract he will be offered. Rick Wagner has.

    You do know that Brandon Williams is anchoring one of the best defensive units in football right? So explain to me how a guy that has to get doubled on almost every play is not earning his contract.

    We could stand losing Wagner and a host of offensive weapons, because they are borderline terrible on that side of the ball anyway.  

     

     Keep the defense together. Or we will regress again this year.   If you pick perhaps another player like Doom instead, i could agree with you. Because I actually like Wagner, he's decent. 

    Definitely don't let Williams walk.
