Of course I'm not any sort of historian but I don't remember Harbaugh doing that in recent history, but having said that I can't imagine how he'll defend Trestman now. I think that fake kick was a stupid call, but I'm also starting to think that Harbaugh made such an aggressive (read: bad) call on offense was to try and jump start a unit that's just not working, and that's on the OC.
In 2012 we fired Cam Cameron after a simillarly heartbreaking loss to Washington.

1. I believe Urschel practiced all week last week, so to me, it looks like he was a healthy scratch for week 2. Generally speaking, I don't see too many players going from healthy scratch to starter in a single week.
2. I agree that it seems clear that Urschel was very much beaten out by Lewis for the starting LG job, and I haven't seen Lewis play bad enough to warrant that change after what is basically like 3 weeks.
I have no idea what the pecking order at center is, but again, not a big enough sample size to make a change at this point. Zuttah was one of our better Olineman last season when healthy, so he's getting more slack than people think.
I was under the impression that Lewis got the job de-facto because Urschel was injured.

First of all, Kaepernick is protesting police injustices. True he is most vocally protesting on behalf of minority (esp. African American) communities, but his protests are for systemic change in police policy, police culture, and society in general.
His stance is similar to, though not exactly, that of the Black Lives Matter movement, who, by the way do fight for the white people killed by police.

Statements like this are problematic. Not only are you suggesting that the U.S.A is the only democracy in the world (not true), but that it is the most free country in the world (also not true).

In addition to that, the implication that you're making is to say that Colin should be thankful for what he has and not protest for a cause he believes in.

How quickly you forget that the very city that the Ravens play in was burning down bc of this issue.
I am well aware of the Black lives matter protests, I am also aware that they quickly fade from the eye of the public.
If Kaepernick wasn't protesting, would you be having this conversation about police brutality, discriminatory policing, and systemic inequality?
Initially, I too thought his kneeling/sitting wasn't enough but the mere fact that everyone is watching suggests otherwise.
11 minutes ago, BOLDnPurPnBlacK said:1. Do you have figures on how many african americans are effected by police brutality and can confirm its in the thousands if not millions?
THATS why you needed our attention?? LETS GO TO JA RULE FOR REACTION! KANYE, PLEASE TELL US HOW TO FEEL! President Bush hates.... nevermind. Sarcasm, but thats how this feels. Going to Ja Rule and Kanye to tell me how to feel about 9/11.
Ferguson report from a few years ago.
Baltimore report released almost exactly 1 month ago.

Just because you don't know what was said or done the previous weeks ago doesn't mean everyone is ignorant to the situation. Not sure how or why it's hard for you to understand you not knowing something doesn't mean the rest of us don't. The fact that you also glossed over the fact that other players have said they are simply kneeling because kaep took hits in the media also lets me know that you're just here to defend the action and not listen to what others have said.
Citing sources is (required) practice for good journalism and good science and prevents people from making unsubstantiated claims and presenting them as fact.
Pitta looking like the Pitta of old. How I missed those diving catches.
57 minutes ago, Tank 92 said:lol......OK, fair enough, but the analogy is a little shaky to me.
So you're saying Boldin, Pitta, Flacco, etc. were below average? Seemed Caldwell did OK with them for a couple of games.
Mason and Housh circa 2010 were below average.
Not sure how you give playmaking after the catch to Maxx. Crockett taking half the raiders into the end-zone says otherwise.

I think it's becoming more clear that this cut had nothing to do with Justin's performance and everything to do with some slick roster maneuvering.
Honestly performance wise Allen would be the odd man out, even after Houston.
Hard to call him our worst FA signing ever because he's been pretty good when healthy, but he's just never healthy...

He will not sneak up on anybody next year and he is very limited. He fights for the ball but he is not very fluid or athletic. If the goal is the Superbowl and the best offense in the league Aiken is a #4. Perriman and whoever is acquired will be the top guys with Campanaro in the slot. Aiken is just the best option at the moment. He will not get the offense to greatness.
Aiken was the No.1 Reciever for half the year when teams were scheming for him.
Aiken, not Derrick Mason, not Anquan Boldin, not Torrey Smith, set the franchise records for consecutive games with 5 catches.
Is he flashy? not really, but Aiken is the model of consistency.
Can we get Zorn as a QB coach, or is he an OC somewhere?
The Good:
Young TEs produce.
Gilmore, Williams and Boyle combine for 11 catches 117 yards and 2 TDs
Juice adds another 5 for 47.
The Defense.
Prior to the last two plays the defense played well. A stretch of 4 straight series with an offensive or special teams turnover and they gave up only 9 points. Pees' hotseat cools slightly for a week even if only because the flames are pointed elsewhere.
The Bad
Turnovers....
This was incredible. Four straight series with a giveaway. No words....
Penalties:
Once again, at the worst possible times. Dumervil took what was his best game thus far and just threw it away.
The Ugly
Missed opportunities:
Several dropped picks throughout the game. None more egregious, of course, than Lewis' on the second to last play of regulation.
Tucker's home voodoo.
58 yards is no chip shot to be sure. But this needs to be addressed in some form or fashion.
And here is why QBR and QB Rating are a joke
QBR and QB Rating are the same thing.
QBR and Passer Rating are not.
Whats so incredibly frustrating is how well the Dline and linebackers played contrasted with the secondary....
That was never the case. This board always overhypes the mediocre WR talent on this team. From Doss to Streeter to Brown and now it's Camp. There's always a superstar waiting, except when there never is.
Doss had talent, he just couldn't get the mental game down.
Streeter was just a big fast guy.
Brown has produced as a UDFA and a No.2 Wideout.
I think Arthur Brown played really well. In my opinion he outplayed McClellan and Orr for that back up spot. Judging by that one game.
Reading OLinemen seems to come natural to him and he explodes through a gap once he notices run. He is not the best against the pass, but he was solid I think. But concerning Pass Coverage Orr and McClellan couldn't do it for their lives
He outplayed Mclellan. Orr was all over the place.
Also, Jacoby had a great 2013. It probably would have been better had he not been injured week one.
The way I view Rice is based on what he could have been in 2014, healthy and behind a top 3 O-Line. I think he would have been just as good as Forsett, at least.
Would you trade Rice for Morris or Lacy? Probably not. They're younger and have less tread (especially Lacy) on the proverbial tires.
To be fair yes.
Eddie Lacy
Marshawn Lynch
Jamal Charles
Lesean McCoy
I'd also take:
Forsett
Bengals rb (the rookie, names escaping me)
Alfred Morris
Frank Gore
Melvin Gordon (on potential alone)
Todd Gurley (same as above)
I legitimately forgot about Lynch, sure.
McCoy also.
Charles is an enigma. He deserves mention, but I think Rice is still better.
Lacy? No.
I love Forsett as a Raven, truly I do, but for a smaller back he doesn't use (or have?) very much lateral agility.
Morris needs to learn how to catch first.
Gore is a great back, and maybe a hall of fame player, but at this point he's an older version of Alfred Morris.
Gordon and Gurley need to produce on the field before I move them up the rankings. Too many Mark Ingrams and Trent Richardsons and Darren McFaddens out there.
Ok boss. Without looking it up, name 32 better. Try 20.
Ready, go.
Lets try...
Adrian Peterson
Demarco Murray
Arian Foster*
Matt Forte
Le'Veon Bell
Anyone else?
If the list is called top players it should be by best by position. Most valuable is a whole other list IMO.
Wouldn't best by position just be the depth chart....?
