ive been saying for a while that the ravens are gonna watch the flashy picks go on a run and theyll be smiling as they pick up an elite player at a lesser value position, nelson and elflein fall in this category.
probably not lol.
although i think the ravens are definitely going to do soemthing to address steve smiths retirement. we cant go into the season with perriman, wallace, and moore as our top 3. corey davis would be a guy i think the ravens would see as a dependable type of wr that they need, rather than another veteran rental its possible they take a big physical quality route runner like davis thinking they can get a longer and cheaper investment with even higher upside. all in theory though...
They have the practice squad guy I forgot his name and watch for the whole this is Camps year b.s. we will most likely get fed from them the front office hates taking big name wr prospects
Cb or wr in the 1st I would take either of the Florida guys and Corey Davis I don't know if Tim Williams will be on our board bc of the whole gun issue
12 hours ago, JoeyFlex5 said:the way this season is playing out, i could definitely see a scenario where we take corey davis with our top pick. IF hes available at that point of course because hes been on a meteoric rise, sadly just like my other favorite propspects sidney jones and tim williams. BUT if mike williams goes first at wr, and there are runs at other positions, then i think you would be hard pressed to find a prospect as rock solid as davis in the mid to late 20s to fit the ravens needs.
it definitely could happen, josh doctson and will fuller went way ahead of michael thomas, sterling shepard, and tyler boyd for inexplicable reasons(i mean really, how teams saw a first round talent in doctson while passing on those guys is beyond me) so i still think davis could fall if there are late risers, as long as davis himself isnt a late riser as well, if his stock stays at about where its at then yeah, we could make a playoff run and still end up with corey davis who is one of the more perfect WR prospects ive ever seen for the ravens.
But if he's there will we actually drafting him ??
Thoughts on Isaiah Ford ?

Corey Davis

You but I don't get my hopes up when it comes to big named wrs when we have a draft I can't remember when is the last time We took a big name wide out
I guess drafting wrs in the later rounds has taught us nothing ? Where is Aaron mellette ? What happened to Tommy streeter and let's not discuss the local kid mr glass himself? smh Perriman will need help .

I like him also my top three Wr prospects are Mike Williams Corey Davis and Westbrook

Everyone keeps waiting for him to break out and finally be that great pass rusher he shows flashes of, but it doesn't seem like that's coming. As for Peirce, I like him, but he isn't helping the pass rush that much. In fact, outside of Jernigan on one of those rare games where he flashes, none of the linemen are particularly that good of a pass rusher.
With Thomas we'll have a pass rusher with some consistency who can play the edge or DE on any down, and be penetrating NT on passing downs.
6 sacks so far is pretty good
I don't believe we need to draft a Running back at all this upcoming draft maybe a mid round qb instead
Dede Westbrook Corey Davis or Mike Williams
On 10/18/2016 at 8:04 PM, Cillmatic said:Marlon Humphrey's the best CB of this class, no debate. He's like Jimmy Smith on steroids.
So you're saying he won't pass a Random urinalysis ?

If Ozzie and the crew are still here he's not going 2 be a Raven no matter where we fall
On 10/25/2016 at 11:38 AM, ravensnick said:You really think we are going to let Williams walk? He's by far the best player on our defense, I'd be pretty disappointed if they let him go.
Can't hold him hostage and tagging him would destroy any cap space we would have so we have basically no pull
On 11/5/2016 at 0:27 AM, JoeyFlex5 said:Tim Williams, the ultimate upside pass rusher. This kid ballooned 22 pounds in one year to go from a little known player to a top 3 sack artist in the nation. Tim Williams averages 1 sack every 10 TEAM snaps(not accounting for snaps when he isnt on the field, which isnt much as he is a 3 down player, but worth mentioning). After the all-time prospect myles garrett, tim williams has easily the highest ceiling of any pass rusher in this class, far more potential than derek barnett, and i even think hes a better all around player as well. So, what about tim williams makes him such an attractive prospect for us...
Need: there are many positions that could make a world of difference for this team. a Center could make our run game actually function thus allowing us to pass more efficiently as well, a corner could take weight off of our pass rush and we could stop giving up long touchdowns, a wide receiver could bail out joe when hes flustered... but a top flight edge rusher, is something we desperately need. our entire pass rush hinges on; terrell suggs and dumervil staying healthy and actually playing at a decent level(something they just cant do anymore) and the rest of our pass rush hangs on our DTs and matt judon, and while judon looks good so far, he is far from an explosive edge rusher, hes more a tactician, we lack that threat of getting in the backfield very quickly and scaring the bejeezus out of qb's on every passing down. our explosiveness in the pass rush is easily the worst in the league.
Fit: the guy is an OLB, he can play it in both 34 and 43, he has the power for it, he began the season at 252, which is reasonably adequate, but his functional strength is outstanding, he brings the heat on every snap, he has the punch of a DE, and the speed to power conversion of an elite 34OLB. he has the explosiveness to beat the tackle around the corner often or at least make his job very difficult, he has the agility to take a wide lane and stop and cut back in, he would be lethal on blitzes, and he has the hustle and through the roof athleticism to make plays in coverage as well, but that would just be a waste.
Ceiling/Floor: Tim Williams does need some work, he lacks refinement, but isnt totally deficient there either. He has a spin move that he uses well and combines it with a elbow swing afterwards to prevent the tackle from recovering, power-to-speed conversion alone shows a solid conceptual grasp and some know-how considering many fast edge rushers in college try to win the corner every time, but the ability to take a loss on the corner and still manage to get the tackle on their heels by adjusting on the fly and using that speed to bull rush to set up your next move suggests the possibility that he is far from finished in his development. He is a possibly 10 sack rookie and is the type of guy you can realistically hope for 16+ sacks from in some years.
Hustle: After playing sparingly for 2 years, Tim knew he needed to bulk up to be the player he wanted to be. he hit the weight room and gained 22 pounds of raw muscle, the kid is a muscled out freak, supreme fitness to put it simply. he has that hunger, and after his incident with the gun, and the talk of him being too incomplete to take past a certain point, i think he would pick up that phone call from ozzie and be JACKED and ready to go to work. plus the kid has a lot of hustle on the field as well, he initiates a ton of big plays through his incredible talent but has also made plays on pure effort, him and jonathan allen split the set-up and the clean-up often, theyre an incredibly fun tandem to watch.
i would take myles garrett, jonathan allen, and nobody else over tim williams, i think this guy is a future stud, and the lack of attention he gets around here is insane, he looks like a prospect these boards would drool over.
Courtney Upshaw ?????? Lol
Mike Williams we need to go grab him
On 11/15/2016 at 4:40 PM, BmoreBird22 said:I just don't think Tim Williams makes it that far.
If u want ur guy U have to go get him instead of always taking what drops in our laps and trying to justify them as bpa has anyone heard from our 2nd rd pick the lb guy ??????
So nobody is on the ju ju Smith bandwagon ????
They didn't draft a single player I wanted except maybe dixon but we are so deep @ Rb there was a very slim chance they would take him from my standpoint he might be the best pick out of the 11 guys they took SMH

I guarantee we didn't wanna move on from Monroe by taking a tackle who never played a full season and wore 2 knee braces and had an injury history. I began having doubts about Tunsil a while week prior. I didn't expect Stanley though.
But they are still going to keep Monroe guarantee that

My thoughts exactly the front office kept selling us playmakers game changer and drafted a bunch of development guys and backups

However I had to change my pick in the poll, as I don't think he'd be a good fit in Baltimore; he lacks the ideal bending and speed to be a 3-4 OLB.
I don't see the comparison with Za'Darius/Dupree though.. they were both much more agile, our 4th rounder used a ton of swim moves and Dupree was just a freaking fast/unpolished edge-rusher, more similar to Floyd.
I'd say he's the next Robert Ayers.
Now, it's not that I have to pull for Lawson at any cost; I'm not his mom nor I'd take him at #6 overall, but I don't know if you've ever seen Upshaw spinning or using the hands like he does.
Even the "good when unblocked" tag sounds unfair imo:
(I don't want to fill an entire forum's page with gifs, so I'll just highlight his spin)
(spins against Stanley)
I don't have enough time to dig into vids now, but he will fare well as a base 4-3 DE and when coaches don't ask him to 'spy'.
And they say Stanley destroyed him who are they trying to fool ?
