Not really a fan of Trestman but it is what it is.
What I find surprising is, there's no one currently on the coaching staff worthy of an interview for the OC position? I know the QB and TE coach are going to DEN, but what about the WR or RB coach? If they want the position, they at least deserve a shot at an interview.
Our Wr and Rb coach just got here. I know it's only been a year but that's really asking too much to consider them as offensive coordinator candidates.
Well they did just get hired. Where is Del Rio a coach?
Del Rio is head coach of The Raiders
So, if anyone wants to hear a little something about Gase, look at the LFW article and see what Manning, Fox, and Elway had to say about Gase.
I seen some people say it may be telling how neither Fox or Rio were quick to hire Gase as their offensive coordinator.
Thinking Jason may have some inside info on this one, since this is the first I know of that Marrone has been mentioned.

I'd be shocked if Doug Marrone was not one of the first candidates the Ravens look to as offensive coordinator. If not the 1st candidate
.
Wow didn't know he ever had offensive coordinator experience.
still can't bring yourself to criticise him. How about its awful?
I thought it wasn't bad for a receiver to catch 50 percent of their passes. A more physical receiver like Anquan Boldin only caught 54 precent of his passes in 2012 which is only 1 percent up from Torrey Smith
To put that into some perspective, that would be last among the top 33 qualified QBs in completion percentage. Lowest one was Drew Stanton at 55%. Not a very reliable number.

Wow didn't know that. I don't know what else to say. All I know is that Torrey was targeted 93 times this year and caught 49 passes
PI don't count as thrown balls, but penalties. Torrey hasn't shown much improvement in his game since his second year, so I warn he pretty much is who he is at this point. Their likely isn't going to be any more development.
He might be who he is at this point but even that's not bad. The Ravens are not going to be able to afford a true number one receiver in the free agent market unless they work some serious magic with their cap space. If The Ravens can't bring back Torrey Smith at reasonable deal then they will have no choice but to move on but I honestly like to see him back. He's only 25 years old which means there's still plenty of room for improvement especially since he most likely will be alot more comfortable in Gary Kubiak offensive scheme.
if you want reliability, bringing back Torrey isn't a great idea. He catches less than 50% of the balls thrown at him.
Torrey was targeted 93 times this year and caught 49 of his passes . 49/93= 53%. He had 11 pass interference worth 200 yards as well.
Double up. Sign him to a low risk contract and draft a guy high. Don't resign Torrey. That way, with rookie, shorts, Camp, Brown, and Aiken, we can begin to phase out Jacoby til when we cut him and prepare for Steve's retirement.
I don't really like the idea of signing a injury prone receiver then draft a rookie receiver that may or may not work out . You not only banking on a injury prone receiver but soon to be a 36 year old receiver, two receivers whom both have trouble saying healthy in Brown and Camp, and then theres Aikens. If The Ravens can re-sign Torrey Smith at a reasonable deal then I would take him over Cecil Shorts any time of the day .
Name two good plays from Elam this year...cause I can only name 1
The strip fumble against The Colts, the strip fumble against the Bengels, the interceptions he had against the steelers in the playoffs, the sack he had against big ben during our second meeting against the steelers in the regular season, the pass deflection he had while covering Antonio Brown in the slot, and that's it.
Why? Cost about the same and Mcphee is more versatile Browns have $55 million in cap space anyway..
Not sure if they would cost around the same Sheard didn't have a good year at all sack wise
I honestly really want us to make a move for Shorts
Shorts is a good player and The Ravens really liked him in the 2011 draft but staying healthy is major problem with him.
I like Jabaal Sheards as potential Pernell Mcphee replacement
I'd really like Jordan Cameron too! he'd be a beast in Kubiaks system! But I bet a lot of teams will be gunning for him and he'll probably come with a good price....
Jordan Cameron has concussion issues which is probably going to scare some teams away or atleast force him to accept less money.
Lets not Down talk Cutler because we all remember 2013 Flacco. Cutler and Flacco are very similar and we see how trestmen did with cutler
In 2013 Flacco was dealing with terrible offensive line and no run game . I think that's totally different from what Cutler was dealing with
I would add him to the staff even if Gary Kubiak stayed. It probably be great to have him as a offense consultant or something.
He was with the Bucs for 2 years and never played in a game. We sign him and in his first regular season action plays pretty well. I'd just like to know what exactly they are doing down in Tampa.
He kept getting hurt when he was with Tampa and they do have new head coach so I can understand how a new regiment of coaches could easily toss him aside and he was undrafted player as well. The same can be said of Danny Gorrer which is why I wasn't surprised to see him get hurt this season.
I believe Lardarius Webb is getting better each game.
I agree .
He only played like 10 snaps, and he played against the Jaguars 3rd WR, not much of a challenge.
I think their third wide receiver is Cecil Short whom is no slouch and pretty good especially when healthy.
Nope... Not a chance whatsoever
No offense to The Harbaugh's but having both of them on the coaching staff would probably be too much ,

Brandon Flowers is visiting the Chargers via Jason La Canfora, will re-evaluate whether to take more visits after visiting SD.
Definitely not good news, players don't usually walk out of a visit without a contract unless they have second thoughts about signing their or fail their physical. All we can do is hope that the Ravens have peaked Flowers interest and he'll want to visit after SD to weigh his options. If he get's a visit here it's a done deal, easier said then done however.
I think he's going to The Chargers. He be their number one cornerback right away, they went to the playoffs last year so it's not like he's going to a bad team, and he get some revenge against his old team.

Ravens are bringing in veteran cornerback Dominique Franks for a tryout at their minicamp, according to a source
Awesome
Chykie Brown is a press corner, he has 34 inch arms and literally said that press coverage is his biggest strength along with recovery speed. He's currently the frontrunner as our nickel corner (outside).
Even if thats true we have all seen his press coverage skills being pretty sloppy at times or non effective. I think Chykie Brown has the potentials to be a solid cornerback tho
