I think your team was definitely among the best. My team was extremely well rounded though with Rondo, LA, Klay Thompson, Kyle Lowry, Jimmy Butler, and Marcin Gortat. I also had excellent depth.
That's a fantastic team. It doesn't have the star power mine did but it's considerably deeper. Dudley was my 5th starter but probably would have ceded his job to Brandon Knight. Ilyasova struggled last year and was supposed to be my top sub but I'll chalk that up injuries and playing on a horrible team.
.., are we really arguing Kevin Durant lebron
Not arguing who is better, arguing who you'd build around long term. It's a legitimate question given the age difference and the enormous leap Durant took this year.
Stm85 is laughing at all of us right now
I am and I was hoping he'd make it to me even though I knew it would never happen. It's a great pick. He's 21 and already a top 5 player. He'll be a perennial MVP candidate sooner rather than later.
Btw, think my core of Melo, Davis, Duncan, and Conley would have won it all last year?
I was actually considering it last year. The one thing that puts James slightly over the top is his ability as a passer and defender. Durant is one of the best pure shooters in the NBA, but James is arguably the more complete package. When you're starting out, a complete package is always a major plus.
That's a very good point. I would have taken James last year but this year I think Durant took his game to another level. His offensive numbers don't even seem possible and he's quickly improving other aspects of his game, especially on defense. He took quite a leap there imo. James is still the more complete player but Durant is 4 years younger. I think, all things considered, I'd rather have 10-12 years of Durant than 6-8 of Lebron, but that may just be my preference.
LeBron is a more complete player than Durant and I consider him to be the best player in the NBA, hence the choice.
I'm going to be in the (very) small minority here, but I probably would have taken Durant first...

Thanks to everyone who took the time to make this run smoothly. This was definitely the best mock offseason yet. Everything was smooth, efficient, no major controversies, and despite all of that this was the most detailed and realistic so far. Well done everyone, see y'all in DaF.
Since SAM is so busy, who's going to evaluate what people did? I'm tempted to take up the reins, but I'm a lot meaner than he is.
I may whip some rankings up but I don't have the time to go into the detail I did last year with schedule evaluations and detailed writeups and what not
I'm done with UDFA, I have no idea who any of the players are anymore.
Are the Packers up or have they been skipped? I have my 3 ready.
Nice picks, Guiton is certainly an interesting prospect at QB
Thanks. It's doubtful he makes the roster with Foles, Pryor, and Dysert already around but he showed some great flashes this year and has a skill set that fits my offensive system. Certainly worth taking a shot on.
You are now up lol
Picks are in. 1 more round and I'm done
I'll be around until late, if you don't think you'll be on. If you want, you can send me the list of three and if they're available, I can post the picks for you.
Sounds good. I have a late start for work tomorrow so I'll be up a bit later than normal but if Tennessee hasn't picked before I got to bed I'll shoot you a PM.
Got my guys picked out. I think I'll do one more round after this one so don't cross me off the list just yet.
So due to skips are we all the way at the Eagles now?!!?!?!
Wait scratch that, Titans are up lol but we do go to the Eagles after the Titans unless some of the skips make their picks which a couple could depending on how long it takes the Titans to choose
Wait I'm about to be up again? I gotta do some research. I think this round of UDFA will be my last.
Good question. We're wrapping up the FM process, more or less, so I would like to say sometime soon.
We might as well get sign ups rolling this week and start some time after the NFL Draft
I'm happy with my UDFA haul this round. Bowanko is getting some pre-draft interest, Bennett was projected as a mid-rounder before his injuries, and I think Pierre Warren is a very good small school sleeper who can provide some very good depth and special teams play; he could challenge Giordano for a roster spot.
I counted and you have 52 players that count (and a few UDFAs who don't count obviously lol) so you are good to sign a guy every 24 hours or right now if you have yet to sign someone
I just counted exactly 51 (Long and Kruger were crossed out on spotrac) so I should be good to go
1. I wouldn't see why not.
2. All remaining free agents are free if you are over 51 players, or 0.5 stars if you're not. The second part doesn't even really matter since there's pretty much no other way to spend money at this point.
It matters if you have 0 cap space lol. Ill post my one guy now and pick out 2 more after work.
2 questions:
1. I'm on the clock right now in UDFA, but I'm at work and only know 1 guy I want. Can I just post him and add the other 2 later?
2. Does the rule of 51 apply to the remaining FA or do we have to pay for them?
Sorry if these have already been asked and answered, I'm not really able to go back and look right now
Dayonne Nunley is reunited with college teammate Zac Dysert and fellow Miami alum Tom Crabtree. Not sure I should be this happy about having 3 guys from a school who's team went 0-12 last year but I am. He has some potential as a backup slot CB and KR/PR.
Picks are in
Sorry guys, I was at my cousin's birthday. Pick will be up very shortly.
I don't think we're doing a free-for-all, like last season. Here's a random idea. Can we maybe tack on an FA to the UDFA signings starting from now or next round or so? Just a thought.
How about we do it like this: Any player can be signed for the minimum but any team has 24 hours to make a better offer. After 24 hours the player goes to the team making the bid.

That's a fair point, I wasn't really looking at it in terms of max contract length, more in the sense of 10-12 years of Durant vs 6-8 of LeBron. In that scenario I'd rather have Durant by a very slim margin, in the one you mentioned LeBron gets it running away.
