I went with one of my favorite college players ever with Draymond Green. He has an uncanny ability to make his teammates better and he's got great value as a role player at this point in the draft.
Who wants my pick?
Fixed the downvote on Ilyasova. Anyone who played last year knows I'm a big fan of his game. I know he's coming off a down year but I'd chalk that up to injuries and playing on an awful team more than anything else. He is an ideal 3rd big man coming off the bench and has a very unique game that is strong in rebounding and 3 point shooting. He's a steal here if he stays healthy.
I'm almost positive Henson was picked
Kinda ehh on Davis... Such an annoying player to watch..
He had quite a few opportunities this year but was outplayed by a few other players and he doesn't match up well against a handful of Memphis' main opponents
With that being said, he does have the talent to be a productive player
I don't really disagree with any of this. However, one aspect of his game that is already very good is his rim protection which neither of my starting bigs really offer. He's a solid rebounder and should develop as a scorer, especially learning behind Bosh and Monroe. This pick was definitely more about filling a need than finding great value.
Ed Davis is a head scratcher
Ed Davis isn't the value I want in this round but he's basically the last true rim protector available which is something I sorely needed behind Monroe and Bosh in my frontcourt. After missing out on Noel and Lopez I couldn't risk losing him and I didn't expect him to be there coming back. He's been buried behind Gasol and Randolph in Memphis but he's still a very promising player and he's only 25. He fits well with my squad.
Does anyone have Truth's pick?
Crawford is a good pick at this point. He's a versatile guard who can really transform a team's 2nd unit.
My board is decimated. I really thought Lopez or Noel would be there coming back
Sorry for the hold up everyone. I didn't have a chance to check the boards yesterday so I had no idea that I was up. Glad to get Danny Green here. He's a great shooter and defender and should thrive in a 6th man role.
Solid pick. He does have a bit of experience at the four, as mentioned.
Thanks. I think he fits well with the rest of my lineup and makes it a well balanced group. I'm a little worried that CP3 is the only guy who can be the main ballhandler but he's so good it may not matter and I always have Monroe to distribute out of the high post if necessary.
Pick is in. After some serious deliberation I decided to go with Tobias Harris. He slides in perfectly at SF in my starting 5 but can play some PF in other lineups. Great rebounder for the spot and a good cutter and finisher to take advantage of CP3's passing. His shooting is streaky and he needs to improve his on-ball defense but the potential is there. Best part is he's only 21.
Top 3 gone. I'm too busy to look up players so the pick will be up after work. Sorry guys
I hate you for taking Jabari.
LeBron
KD
CP3
Davis
Melo
Curry
Westbrook
Love
Harden
George
Sorry for the brief delay I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. Ended up going with Butler, who's still pretty young and is one of the better 3 and D guys in the league. I think he fits well with the rest of my squad.
Steal with Lopez. He'd easily be a top 25 pick if not for his injury. Although his defense leaves a bit to be desired you're still getting an elite offensive center. Great value here.
I'd pause before calling Chris Bosh a pretty good defender. That's coming from somebody who's been watching Miami at a very high volume. I think he's highly underrated in P&R situations, but his post defense hasn't been there, and he's failed to close out on spot up shooters more than I could count. His defense is so-so.
That's fair, although I'd think he'd be a better post defender playing against 4s than 5s. Monroe is considerably better at C so I plan on keeping Bosh mostly at PF where his athletic but lean frame will match up better.
Regardless, I'm excited about the possibilties that Monroe's passing opens up. With him and CP3 there will be a lot of cutters found for easy baskets. CP3, as well as the rest of my players, can become a weapon on frequent backdoor cuts, which only adds to the already nightmarish task of defending him.
Solid pick in Greg Monroe, stm85.
Thanks. I think he pairs well with Bosh in my front court. Neither is fantastic rim protector so that's something I'll have to take care of later but at the end of the day Bosh is a pretty good defender and Monroe is improving there. What I really like is his ability to pass the ball out of the high post, something the Pistons didn't take advantage of enough this past year. He is one of the best passing big men in the NBA so it could give Chris Paul a sorely needed chance to work off the ball every now and again and attack defenses from another angle. Plus he's a gifted offensive player and a great rebounder. With Monroe, CP3, and Bosh, I should have one of the best passing teams out there.
Great pick in Klay. It was between him and another player for my next selection. Hopefully the other guy is still there when it comes back to my pick.
Like the pick, love the picture
I hate Bosh for honestly no real reason other than I hate the Heat, but he's a good player. He never gets credit for being extremely clutch either.....he's got to get back to being a competent rebounder though
Agreed, although I plan on playing him at the 4 so his deficiencies on the boards should be less pronounced. I think he pairs well with CP3 as a strong shooter with good range that can still get it done near the basket. His defense has quietly become very good as well and he offers some underrated rim protection.
I can
Cool, I'll send it over after the game
I'll be online until the UVA Vandy baseball game is over, but if I'm not up by then can someone take my top 3?
John Wall??? Oh boy
The only issue I have is that he didn't use this:
