Its not over but I dont see anything that points to this team winning if we made the playoffs. Shaky secondary, nonexistent pass rush and lack of weapons would not beat the elite AFC contenders.
Buck played well last week but where does he fit in with Tali coming back? I'd like to see both of them get work somehow
Games like these are why non Americans hate football. After every play the game is stopped for 2 minutes. smh
Perry to ps,
I hope not, he has way more upside than Trawick and Levine
Wasn't there a report about us looking at Chris Cook? If webby has an injury I think we should be looking to bring him in.
If its just a pulled hammy the signing won't be worth the couple weeks Webb is out, especially with the amount of cuts we have to make.
Good depth at CB and WR, our most banged up positions. If we can get consistent play from there I'm very confident going into the season.
For returns, is there actually a statistic to prove players get hurt at a higher rate than at any other point in the game? I know the hits can be bigger and more dangerous, but that's rarely the case, or so it seems. I just don't view it as this mega risk.
This, what are KRs on the field for 4-6 more plays a game? Half will end up touchbacks. Seems like something people make a lot bigger deal about.
Probably due to the sheer depth of the position and the system he's coming out of.
I get that, but with his rare combo of soft hands, an elite frame and feet for his size. What would make you take 25 other WRs in the draft before him. Oh well, Im fine with it! lol
I hate getting excited about late picks especially WRs when it comes to us, but how did a player like this fall to us?
I think these next couple seasons will be new to us as fans. We finally had our offensive draft we've been yearning for in who knows how long. This was probably the best year for Oz to do it as well. Young guys that can grow with Flacco as he enters his prime in Perriman and Williams then hopefully Allen and Waller. Then you add the potential Camp, Aiken and Marlon Brown still have. I think the days are over where we have to bring in aging wideouts to compete for our number 1 spot and we'll have some solid franchise pieces for years to come.
ok all I'm saying is next year if this guy is a starter expect to be unhappy if you expect better than pollard or ihedigbo but delighted if better than mr eat greedy..mr 17th best player on our board matt elam
Def respect your opinion but could you give a bit more detail since you know so much about him. Pollard was our heavy hitter but not very solid in coverage. Ihedigbo was better, but also not known for his coverage skills. You say these guys were that much better than him, how so?

Ravens' interest in Scott Chandler was there, but not as intense as interest he drew from Patritos, though, sources say
This may explain his decision a little more.
Confidence in Gilmore progressing, or confidence in Pitta returning? What do yall think?
So glad to have Forsett back, we still may draft an RB early if there's one we like but this gives us continuity after losing some offensive skill starters. Pretty cheap, too.
Consider that Ryan Matthews was reported 3 yr $12M, Frank Gore was the same, and Shane Vereen was 3 yrs $12.35M.
With Forsett back Id be very upset if we went RB in the first 3/4 rounds. Him and Tali should handle the bulk of the workload this year. Hopefully now we go after a WR early, even if we have to trade a pick to make sure we land a guy.
if you look at the rushing attack of trestmans teams..they have been pretty crap.
This is not a good hire..
whatever
The way the league is going passing the ball more could be a good thing, of course there should still be some balance but I don't see how that's the basis for this being a bad hire.
Not trying to insult you by any means but do you have video link of him '' plucking the ball out " And honestly, i think he may have one strip but ill be honest, i have no reculation at all. And even if he has multiple strips, they are way way too far and thin.
Elam gets targeted more than anyone and for good reason, im sorry but when i see him run, it looks like i have my tv on slow motion and he is a cb, he plays one of the fastest positions. I think the only reason he is playing is because we literally do not have anyone else.
Nah, no video. But I know a couple weren't recovered so he wasn't credited, another was given to Mosley I believe. He also had one yesterday going out of bounds. Elam was one of my favorites coming out of college but trust me my patience is running thin on him, thats one of the few good things I really collected from his season.
Yea he's definitely slow for where Pees plays him, lack of length doesn't help at all if you're a slow DB too. I wanna give him one more year though if not we have Brooks and Will Hill is a MUST resign.
Terrible tackling skills+Bad coverage skills+5'9+being a strong safety yet somehow the worst tackler on the field=bust.
His coverage isnt as bad as people like to make it seem, a lot of the time he's there just needed a little extra jump to make the play. And something people really overlook about Elam is his playmaking ability. Granted he's not getting many picks, he has a knack for plucking the ball out. Not many DBs in the league are getting as many strips as he does.
I think he played well. He also made it through a whole game without getting hurt, so that's a plus.
Hope we can still get Coleman
Its not like we dont have a awful oline or WR core.. that half of them wouldnt start on a top 10 team.
Awful? Alright man, relax a little.
People really wanted another Matt Elam? I would've liked us to trade back cus we're sitting pretty but I'm fine with the pick. Good duo for the future.
The season is 5 months away...
Fix the line and draft him another weapon and his margin for error will be very thin if he has any sort of season similar to last year. but thats the last thing i see right now as long as Kubes is here. He and Dennison will not only fix the scheme, but fix Flacco as well.
Who do you like in this draft.
With Jacoby and Torrey using their speed on the outside, Steve Smith in the slot and Pitta working the middle, Flacco has no excuses
Addressing the 35 yo wr post, Steve Smith doesn't play like a 35 yo. He takes care of himself and is one of the toughest, smartest wrs in the game. If he comes in he is probably our number 1 wr immediately.

It would be smart, but it won't happen. Which means we probably will finish with 7 or 8 wins and still miss the playoffs. It sucks cus we never really go after big name free agents and I don't expect it to change.
