Mike Wallace would not approve this hire.

Especially since literally every game is a one score game. There is no excuse to abandon the run when we're still in the game.
Product in today's nfl is garbage across the league
35 minutes ago, rmcjacket23 said:I agree in theory. The problem is... what if we finish like 5-11 or 6-10, something like that. That's back to back very bad seasons.
At that point, most teams don't just keep people because "well we don't have anybody else better to replace with him with". The reality is that even if we see moderate roster turnover, its impossible to replace or even upgrade all of those positions in a given year. When teams have consecutive seasons like that, there's no point in keeping highly paid players around when you can't win while they are here. You cut them and replace them with cheaper players in the hopes they become more talented.
If we did a moderate "roster gut", where we keep like 5-6 key veterans and we ditch guys like Webb, Dumervil, etc., that's the kind of rebuild that takes multiple seasons. We will be weaker in 2017 at some spots than we are this year... that's a foregone conclusion when you do something like that.
My guess is they offer him a short term extension for a lower cap hit and less money.
That's basically what I was trying to say. I'm not saying we should keep Webb or Doom past this season with their current salary. They need to take a pay cut this off-season, or get cut simple as that. But I'm talking about this current season, there is no reason to bench Webb for Matt Elam.
33 minutes ago, rmcjacket23 said:Yeah I don't think he's getting benched either. He hasn't been particularly good, but wouldn't say he's been particularly bad either. He's showed a lot more at the position than guys like Lewis and Elam have in the past and they had longer leashes.
Just think if things continue as is you're going to see some significant roster turnover in the offseason. A lot of veterans with low dead money and high cap numbers are going to be looked at very carefully to see whether they are worth being here on a team that could easily be looking to get younger in a hurry.
Its guaranteed we will see a big roster turnover on both sides of the ball. If Webb doesn't agree to another paycut, he's gone as well as Wright. Question is, who do we replace them with next season. Nobody on the roster is capable of replacing Webb at this point. Only thing he has done wrong to this point is fail to make a couple open field tackles on OBJ. It's not like he's blowing coverages every game.
I guess cutting Webb will solve all our problems on defense huh? By cutting him pass rush will magically form, Mosley will get healthy and play, and and Tavon won't be a rookie anymore. Yea Webbs the real issue here folks. If you thought we were giving up big plays before, just wait till we bench him for Elam lol. Last I checked, the ENTIRE DEFENSE got burned for that TD, including Weddle. Yea I don't see Webb as a problem. But he isn't worth what we are paying him, that I agree with.

Flacco doesn't even believe in Flacco anymore.
And it's just sad to watch. I hate watching one of my favorite players get pummeled week in and week out, and and slowly turn into a scared QB. He is hearing footsteps every play, and throwing the ball with horrible mechanics. It's just sad watching Flacco lose confidence man.
Well this has been a true eye opening experience. Flacco's confidence is shot. The o-line is trash. This team is at best 4-12. There is literally no hope for this garbage squad.

Yea this is just rough to watch. I am fearing for Flacco's safety at this point.

Were not righting this ship. There is no chance. Were snakebitten and I'm afraid it's gonna get worse before it gets better.
Full rebuild mode will be here before we know it. Get ready folks. Its gonna get ugly.
What are your views on Flacco at this point? I have personally given up on him.
If you think about it this is kind of interesting to watch. How will Flacco screw up this time? Lol He's the new Mark Sanchez

I don't know man. This Entire situation is a mess. The future isn't looking too bright.
Guy's, I think I'm done defending Joe. Maybe it is time to move on.
This damn team is the reason for my grey hairs.
47 minutes ago, Rav'n Maniac said:OK you are entitled to your opinion and I'm not trying to rag on you, just explaining my position. I base mine on what he has or hasn't done.
So far this season he has 1 pass defensed, has made 16 tackles and given up 1 TD where he was the primary cover. As you said not elite but ok.
As a free safety, he is suppose to be the last line of defense and to assist our corners deep. There have been 11 other passing TD's against us and only one of those where he wasn't on the field. Of those 10 he was on the field, 9 he was out of position to help on. Take the last game as example; after watching the film, there were 2 touchdowns in the right corner. 1 against Young and 1 against Davis. Both plays he was in the middle of the field covering no one and he didn't slide to help those guys. That's the kind of piss poor play we've been getting and in my opinion, he's not much better than Kendrick Lewis.
And that 9.5m we could save could go towards that CB, OLB and OL you mentioned.
Just wondering, do you know how a cover 3 works? I feel you're giving the corners a complete pass when they're the ones getting toasted for the TD. From what I've seen, Webb is only responsible for 2 maybe 3 tds so far. Wright has given up 5 alone, but Webb is the problem? I agree he is not worth the money he's making, but he is far from the problem on defense.

Lol last 3 weeks I predicted we'd lose those games and we lost. So I'm trying something new this week. THE POWER OF POSITIVITY
If Jimmy plays, I don't see the Jets scoring a TD against us at all.
PFF rated the Ravens secondary #2 in the league so far fwiw. I actually agree with the considering how they are playing without a pass rush.
With the way the Jets are stinking up the joint, I don't see how the Ravens lose this game. Our defense is better than Arizona's as long as Jimmy is healthy, and I see West having a big day against them. This should be a win. But seriously, can we please see some overload blitzing every once in a while. Part of the reason we get no pressure is because its the same blitz every time. Mix it up a little Pees.
Positives: We have 2 undrafted players killing it on defense in Orr and Pierce. Plus I fully expect Jimmy to play next week against a struggling jets offense. Say what you want about our offense but the Jets may actually be worse. Our defense should have fun against them.
What the offense is sorely lacking is a power back for those forth and inch situations. Any word on what's up with Taliaferro? His physical presence is sorely needed.

Moore's been used way less
14 minutes ago, PurpleCity5 said:I don't know if Moore's route running is cracked up to be. Don't get me wrong he's fine there but in College he didn't run the full route tree often and in the NFL some of his routes are not very sharp. His hips aren't flexible either and that's a route running issue considering that he did very well in the 3-cone in the combine. I personally think it might be that he just doesn't cut that well, it could be an issue that can be fixed within a year and we could see him as a great route runner. I'm not saying he's bad there, it's a strength of his but there's plenty to still be desired in terms of his route running.
he's no Antonio Brown, but he's currently better than Perriman in that department.

Stanley was pretty bad today. He had what, 4 penalties? Gave up 2 sacks to old man Harrison? He needs to step it up. But the defense was on another level today. Hope they can bring that intensity every week.
