You have to dig his enthusiasm. I'm excited to see how we evolve in the last stages of our evolution before the season starts.

What we're doing with our DBs this year seems so unorthodox, especially with the perceived overabundance of people at the safety position, but with the amount of talent we have to choose from it's hard not to be excited about this upcoming year.

I love Joe's work ethic and cautious approach.

After what we went through last season with DBs, the more solid ones we have going in the better; especially young talent like Canady with a lot of potential.

Weddle will still be able to give input and project his influence with our without the headset. It makes sense to let C.J. continue to rock it, especially since he has been moving along progressively the past few years.

It will be interesting to see how we utilize our WRs and TEs this year. Wallace obviously still has gas in the tank. We also introduced some new WR talent this year along with our existing talented TEs. Add that with year 2 of running Trestman's offense and, as a fan, I'm really excited.

This is a good low risk, high reward signing. If this dude plays to his potential then we got a steal (even though the details of the deal aren't out yet, I doubt we overpaid). There's definitely no shortage of talent in the backfield right now.

I believe with the Rams almost certain to take a QB, we will be able to scoop a defensive playmaker in the 1st and address an OT in the 2nd or 3rd round.

This isn't anything new for us. We lost a player early in free agency to a team with a ton of cap room. It happens. I'm sure KO was misquoted in some way, but to be honest it really doesn't matter. He chased the money and he's no longer on our team, and he won't be the last to do so. Time to add more solid talent in move on.

The possibility exists that Perriman can be a bust, but he can also be dominate this year. Granted we were banking on him to do that last year, but injuries happen. If this kid shows up as fresh and hungry to prove himself as we think he will, it should translate into immediate positive impacts.

Smart move. If you have to franchise tag someone, a kicker is the most financially beneficial position to do so. And Tucker is a heck of a kicker. Hopefully they will be able to come to a long-term agreement before the start of the season. 

We've done an awesome job over the years putting together a group of lineman that are versatile enough to operate in multiple positions. As we've seen, injuries sometimes makes people play out of their comfort zone. KO is a success story. Kudos on Ozzie and them making a statement at trying to keep him. If we're fortunate enough to do so, our O-line will get that much stronger. It may even seriously sway our draft strategy.

1. Low Risk/High Reward move. I dig it. If this kid shows the potential he showed in college then we get a bargain. If not then he won't even make the team. No harm no foul. But I definitely think it's worth a shot. Some people take a while to reach their full potential. If it works out he can serve the "Big Bruiser" role that Ricky Williams played several years ago.

If this dude lives up to the potential that caused us to draft him where we did, I can't wait to see him healthy and catching passes from Joe.

It would be a valid and logical franchise move, but unnecessary. This deal should get done with no problem.

I'm not sure what the substance is and what the circumstances are, but regardless this is very disappointing. Such talent that we will be without for more than half the season. Hopefully this dude will be able to learn from his mistakes and realize the subsequent roster moves the team has to make as a result.

This is a very knowledgeable dude and I think we are very fortunate to have him on our staff.  I think adding his mindset and abilities will add some aggression to our defense.

I agree that quality picks like a LT aren't very popular, but they are usually ones that pay dividends for years to come. If a tackle is the Best Player Available at the #6 spot and he fills a need than why not. However, whose to say we can't address LT later in the draft and address another position early? We were able to scoop KO in the 2nd round at pick 60 so why couldn't we do that again?  I think the draft board will make all the difference.

There's obviously a lot of talent that will be available at #6, the bigger question is which talented player will be snatched up. As usual I think you would have an easier time correctly guessing the Powerball numbers than figuring out this early what Ozzie an them will do. But it is looking more likely that we will pick someone, which regardless of who that is they should improve our team significantly. I think we are in a very good position right now.

Tucker would be a solid, cost-effective tag, but I have faith that we will be able to reach a long-term deal before it comes to that.

It amazes me that people are downplaying a #6 pick as if it will be impossible to improve our team with it, either by trading it for more picks or picking someone. I think we are in a very good position and I am excited to see what opportunities will present themselves come draft day.

Forte is definitely not a need that we should spend anything on. Don't get me wrong, Forte still has a lot to offer a team, it's just at a position that we are sitting pretty at right now. That cap money can go to filling other holes.

I like our FA outlook this year. I agree that keeping KO might be difficult, but it's doable. As for our draft prospects at #6, whether we trade down or pick at that spot I like our odds to end up on top.

Looking at all the quality Free Agents available out there, I'm now less excited in making a splash and more excited at the opportunities we have to get better; especially when you consider the salary cap casualties that will be out there. Despite a promising last season that fell well short of what was expected, I think the resilience of our organization will attract a lot of people.

When I read this story it immediately reminded me of JJ as well. If Pees and them find Upshaw's abilities as useful, him not having a good season may allow us to keep him for a good price. Also, for all we know in the next few years Upshaw could live up to the potential that caused us to draft him. Either way, as you said, keeping him for a fair price can't hurt.
