  1. As many healthy players we can get entering that game the better. Cleveland will definitely give us all they've got, but we have the better roster; we just need to play like it. My hopes is with the extra time we've had after the Thursday game that we can rest and put together a gameplan to dominate.
  2. I am curious to see if Ozzie makes a play for a veteran WR or if he'll ride with our current dudes throughout the season. I'm not taking anything from our current guys' potential, but at what point do we make a move?
  3. The clock is ticking and as each week goes by it gets more crucial. SSS can only do so much. Rushing him back prematurely out of necessity could lead to us losing him for even longer. Whether it's going out via trade/free agency to find help or simplifying the offense, we need to do something before it's too late.
  4. It sucks that Steve Smith can put in that kind of game and we still lose. Whether it's lack of faith in the other receivers on the roster or lack of skill, we can't keep throwing at SSS 16 times in a game. Somethings got to give.
  5. Hopefully this dude will contribute. Quickly. We can't afford any more defensive showings like yesterday.
  6. This is rough and eye opening. I hope this loss serves as some type of motivation because this is not cool. Steve Smith hit it right on the money. We know who we play and when, we just need to show up on those days. This loss is really going to hurt later in the season.
  7. They didn't just shotgun sign this dude. They actually worked him out and liked what they saw, so obviously the coaching staff believes he can contribute, regardless of his age. And I personally think he's one of those guys that despite the age, has the heart of someone 10 years younger. I think this is a nice pickup for what we plan to use him for.
  8. First game of the year in Denver against a pretty stout defense and we still almost walked out with a win. That loss isn't on Steve's one play, but on a lack of execution on several plays. I'm unhappy with how mediocre our offense looked, but it will get better. We can't expect to be firing on all cylinders in Week 1 and the limited practice time the offseason provides. I hope Trestman can look at what worked and what didn't and adjust accordingly. We can't go into every week so complaisant on offense, but we will get better.
  9. Ouch. As much as this hurts, I think this will force us to get better.
  10. Brown has too much potential to be cut right now. The key is finding a way to get that dude on the field so he can make a significant contribution. Hopefully this is that year.
  11. Man I hate injuries this close to the regular season. Luckily this is the time that the market is flooded with veteran help if we need to go that route. And knowing Ozzie I'm sure he has already been tracking people that can make us better.
  12. I've always like Brooks' potential. Maybe this injury comeback will be motivation enough for him to show some things. We've been known to bring out extraordinary talent in players over the years, and I'm hoping Brooks can join that club.
  13. I think people are overreacting about Perriman still being out. Yes he'll lose some chemistry by not running with the first team offense an being out so long; but his ability will still be there. I'd rather him heal completely than to prematurely get on the field and potentially make things worse for a much longer time.
  14. This is an awesome move and says a lot about the strides Will Hill has made. This has success story written all over it and we have taken a huge step forward in solidifying our DBs. Now if we can get Tucker under contract things will be really awesome.
  15. Despite the final score of the game I like the reaction of the team and coaching staff, especially Will Hill.
  16. I wasn't aware that it's now the player's responsibility to keep track of the other team's injury history and to alter their playing approach accordingly to cause the least amount of damage possible. BS!!! Just like most the calls in that game.
  17. Looking at the names we have to rotate for our pass rush, I am really excited to see these guys in action.
  18. This dude was going to be a beast this year!! I know we have quite a bit of depth on the D-line, but I was seriously looking forward to this guy getting on the field and showing what he can do. Hopefully he's able to come back from his injury and start to shake the obvious "injury prone" label he has.
  19. I am so excited to see this dude in action. I still can't believe we were able to acquire him. His desire to play with us and our desire to better our secondary will produce amazing results. With our investment in our pass rush along with the secondary we should be a very stout defense.
  20. This was a very touching story. This dude has gone through things that most people wouldn't even imagine and was able to use it as motivation to succeed. That ability shows extreme heart. This is a solid pickup that I can't wait to see on the field in the purple and black.
  21. I think Joe will improve on last year's numbers. The closer the season gets the more excited I am to see the results of Trestman's spin on Kubiak's system. For the most part this will be Joe's second year in the system, which is grounds for excitement.
  22. He's still good for a few good plays a game, especially when worked into the rotation we have going on so he's not on the field to much. His experience should also pay dividends with teaching our young guys.
  23. I worry about talk of our starting CB doing one of the most brutal duties in football, which is returning punts. We're just asking for him to be injured. There has to be someone else on the roster that can do it at a high level instead.
  24. Initially I enjoyed the respect the media was finally giving us for having a great team. I am really excited about our roster this year and enjoyed the fact that the media was finally jumping on board; but now things are getting crazy. Everyone seems to be jumping on the Raven pre-season bandwagon and I'm not digging it. It seems more like a jinx than anything. We tend to do better when being doubted underdogs and I'm kinda wishing those days come back.
  25. I was excited when we drafted him and I still have hope that he can end up as we hope. As long as each year he's talented enough to make our roster, I'll keep that hope.
