  1. that seems really doubtful. Oakland could easily just offer Monroe the money they were giving Saffold.
  2. That's honestly only amillion more than planned. With the raise cap I'm fine with that. A little higher but I think it won't bother us in the long run.
  3. I did a twitter search and may have been a mistake. The raiders beat meant "Ravens"
  4. Aaron Wilson is probably the most credible source for ravens information outside the team announcements. I think we're all seeing that the market has changed, if this is true.
  5. I hate to say this, but Al Davis being gone has really changed the NFL.
  6. I'm really comfortable with that range. Feels fair to both sides.
  7. From the sounds of it if it is more it's very little. The market was cooler than we thought.
  8. Oakland is a rebuilding project for sure, but miami is rotten at the top. Not the core.
  9. the Cardinals don't have the ludicrous cap space as Miami. So it might work out. Here's hoping.
  10. So that cap hit is not one to one. So if he's getting 10 a year he's not necessarily going to be 10 million against this cap.
  11. Honestly 10 millions inst that much anymore. the cap could be 160 by 2016 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/03/07/cap-could-hit-160-million-in-2016/ so it won't be that cumberson a contract.
  12. I never though Veldheer would get that money. Thats crazy money.
  13. Usually that'd be true, but remember the raiders have 70 million in cap space. So their numbers are going to be bigger, really the worry is miami. The market on the NFL will not be the same as in Oakland, oakland could pay 25 million this season and still lead the NFL in cap space.
  14. If Taylor Lewin is there I'd take him, but I don't think Zach martin is worthy of a top 20 pick.
  15. i'll admit you've changed my opinion on where they've been drafted, but LTs are still one of the 4 highest drafted positions. If you look at the average starting LT his draft position will be higher than any position besides QB certainly
  16. So Castonzo was awful for years, Cordy Glenn may be replaced at LT, and has been less than Ideal. Soldier is 17th, so still a higher pick. And if they're not polished enough they often times take years to develope. Many LTs need to be replaced, also Veldheer had one good year. Anthony Collins hasn't played a full season, and Donald Stephenson is also going to get flipped next year. There have been 3 starting lts that were on the board since 2008 that are playing well enough that we should have drafted them. Bass Veldheer and Cordy Glenn. And all three of them may not be LTs much longer.
  17. Well I should say top 15. Bryan Bulaga never actually played LT, since he tore his ACL.. Either way, there's very few outside the first round. where as good receivers are drafted sporadically through the draft. Lewan Certainly will not fall past pittsburg.
  18. It's more than that, you also have to think of state income tax. Florida has no state income tax. So 45 Florida compared to 35 in MD is more like 45 to 28
  19. it's only 16 mil guaranteed. With the rising salary cap that's fine. Really I think we wanted to make sure we didn't have a tag or free agency. Wanted to get it over with.
  20. I do object that we paid Pitta based on Future production and Monroe, who has hardly ever missed a game, is going to hit market. Seems like the wrong priorities
  21. It's not really a big secret. Everyone knows needs and teams, spending habits, Cape Space and ETC.
  22. At least you know he'll work up the money. He's a really hard working guy.
  23. Tackles are probably one of the highest drafted positions... Especially LTs almost never go outside the top 10
  24. If it's an ellerbe situation where Miami just backs the brinks truck up he's not going to turn it down
  25. If we were willing to spend 10 million a year on him we'd probably have tagged him.
