  1. I've long been an apologist for Joe. I still support him and appreciate him, but it's time to be objective. Joe Flacco is not elite. For 4 incredibly well timed games he was. And that is the Joe Flacco we invested in. Can anyone argue that we've gotten a good return on that investment? Any argument about his weapons is irrelevant, we payed a premium for a Qb with the expectations and intent that we didn't need premium players to surround him. The expectations were clear and those are how he and his contract must be judged. In retrospect, it was a poor investment. It was universally mocked, and as sad as it is, for good reason. We bought a lemon, and can't afford sugar.
  2. Ironic that we wanted to run Cam Cameron out of town, and Ray Rice was largely unappreciated during his last few years here. I'd take the offense we had back then over the one we have now. Joe Flacco was far more efficient and competent when he had a strong run game and an offensive philosophy that was committed to that , almost to a fault. It's no coincidence that our only good offensive year since then came with Kubiak's offense. To go forward we must look to the past. Flacco is who he is, he can win a superbowl, he can make incredible throws when you need them. But to run a successful offense we must be absolutely committed to bringing our run game back off life support. That should be priority #1. Keep juice, keep Wagner, invest in your o line. And if Dennison becomes available get him!
  3. The factory of sadness keeps blowing steam.
  4. I'd love to see it Rice finish his career here with dignity 1st, and help our team win 2nd; but unfortunately that ship has long since sailed.
  5. Hey, we played a great 3 quarters! That 1st quarter though... wow terrible. Big credit to the players and coaches for staying cool and overcoming a 20 point deficit to get the win. Make no mistake, we won't overcome a quarter like that against Pittsburgh, Cincy, New England or even Jacksonville. Must find out what went wrong and fast.
  6. Nice job staying relevant, Kap.
  7. We have 5 receivers now, 3 of them have caught a reg season pass in their career. Of those 3, 2 of them are not coming back from a major injury. Last season Butler was promoted by necessity to #2 and he has proven he can hang. This year he's proven he has the drive to break out. Hurst is a LT in title only, I'd be as comfortable throwing a banana peel out there at tackle.
  8. So we keep Powers and Wurst over Butler/Brooks/Forsett.
  9. We'd be screwed, even if we kept 10. Over half of our unit is made up of practice squad call ups and unwanted free agents. Very possible we can find a similar quality player if we need to, even halfway through the season. Levine or Webb can stand in in a pinch. Let's not leave an actual talent off the team for an easily replaceable player.
  10. Definitely the deepest. We have 5 guys with proven ability and production, with 2 very promising guys, and that's without factoring in the TEs. The best still has to be Boldin/Torrey/Jacoby/Pitta. It didn't last long but those guys absolutely dominated in the SB run.
  11. Dallas is from Phoenix.
  12. We need to make room for Butler on the roster. Harbs talks about no more projects, guys need to step up and contribute. That's exactly what Butler has done. Improved every year he's been on the team, produced when called upon. He's not a burner, but he has nice size, hands, and he wants it.
  13. The first 3 rounds were solid, but not spectacular. Ronnie Stanley will pay dividends in the years to come, Correa was picked at an appropriate spot. Those are good picks, but I still think there were better ones on the board. They nailed the 4th round though, specifically in Henry and Dixon. I feel both of those guys are eventual starters.
  14. We don't give 2nd contracts to 2nd rounders anyway.
  15. We could have had the same draft! If we traded the pick we landed new ST ace Bronson Kaufusi at, the Cowboys would have made the trade and we would have Ramsey. Jack was right there in our laps, instead we just had to have more projects, depth, ST stalwarts and practice squad competition from the 4th round. Ramsey and freakin' Jack. The 2 odds on favorites for DROY are right there on the Jaguars roster. Nobody is gonna pass the ball on the Jags this year. "Oh but Myles Jack's knee may shorten his career." Anyone recall the last 2nd rounder we retained in FA? Jack is green to go this season. And his knee may just hold up long term after all. Ed and Ray in the same draft. Jealous. I don't think anyone would need to defend our draft if it went like this.
  16. If you guys stop and think, we could have had the draft the Jags just had if we gave up the pick we selected Bronson Kaufusi with. Ramsey and Jack. I think every single poster here would have been doing cartwheels all over town. While everyone was doing mocks, someone would be laughed at if they did a mock so ridiculous, and it could have been a reality.
  17. I can see them nicknaming him 'Artie Burnt' at sometime this year.
  18. Bosa and Ramsey were off the board, Tunsil and Jack both had issues which made them risky picks at #6. I was not a fan of taking Buckner, either. So Stanley is pretty much the logical pick in that scenario. I wasn't too keen on this pick when we made it, nothing against Stanley who is a good player, but seeing Ramsey drop to #5 got my hopes up. Anyway, I'm excited about the prospect of getting a franchise LT to protect Joe for the rest of his career.
  19. Jack's knee has to be a huge concern if he is still there. I'm not too sure I'm comfortable taking him at 36 with that.
  20. Hahaha +1
  21. Unless..... He's 2nd team all-pro and Stanley is 1st team.
  22. Carolina probably goes D here.
  23. I'm stuck watching a stream with Dameshek and all his gradeschool humor after every pick. Please shoot me.
  24. Browns get even more picks. If they could draft and develop they'd be a very talented team.
  25. Can't warm up to this pick left. Curse you, Jerry. Could have picked up an extra pick and still got Elliot.
