I've long been an apologist for Joe. I still support him and appreciate him, but it's time to be objective. Joe Flacco is not elite. For 4 incredibly well timed games he was. And that is the Joe Flacco we invested in. Can anyone argue that we've gotten a good return on that investment? Any argument about his weapons is irrelevant, we payed a premium for a Qb with the expectations and intent that we didn't need premium players to surround him. The expectations were clear and those are how he and his contract must be judged. In retrospect, it was a poor investment. It was universally mocked, and as sad as it is, for good reason. We bought a lemon, and can't afford sugar.
