i have numbers in my head already for brandon williams but what does everyone think it will cost to bring wagner back - i dont know what sort of contract he would get in free agency and what it would be "fair" to pay him - anyone got any ideas?

Barksdale in SD just signed a 4yr 22M. Gilbert 2 years ago signed a 5 yr 30m. Basically around 5.5- 6m per year. I'd like to see something like 5 yr for 27m.

Btw Garçon apparently wants more than or the same as what he got this year so we're talking around or north of $7.5M.

I also really like the idea of signing Kendall Wright. I may be alone but I liked him coming out and while he never did anything I would sign him on a cheap prove it deal.

He's not gonna get it. Cmon we're talking about releasing Wallace who also hit 1000 yards at 8M. And let's see, where are both teams? Out of the playoffs. Hell Washington had 2 1k receivers and still missed the playoffs. His "value" is dirt right now.

    Sigh..........

Once again with upgrades available we decide to stay mediocre. Could try to get Norv, could try to get Mike McCoy, maybe some new RB or WR Coach, a fresh college position coach, etc. Yet we stay the course and once again fail to upgrade when we have the chance to. Harbs just laid the ground work for his final season with the team.

Billick's last year was 2007, and it looks like 10 years later Harbaugh's last year will be 2017.

More interesting stats. Billick was in his 2nd year when we won the SB. Harbs took 5.

Well, in their defense, that's not necessarily true.

We know Dean Pees can lead a defense that can win a SB and make the playoffs, so its not as if we won't win until we fire him, because we've won plenty with him.

And in a round about good way, fans have also now learned that firing your OC in the offseason or even midseason doesn't guarantee that you will start winning again either. Fans used the "fire the OC and we will start doing well again" crutch for too long after we fired Cam Cameron, and now that crutch is permanently broken and can't be used anymore.

So while I wouldn't have retained Marty, its certainly not a death blow to our 2017 outlook. As usual, the personnel on the field matters a whole lot more than the coaches on the sidelines, and they are always the one's who dictate the success or failure of a team.

Sure when he had 2 once in a lifetime players, and 2 or 3 more that were top 2 or 3 at their position. And we STILL collapsed in the 4th in many games, to include the SB.

    Not this again....

Hey it's a high profile name that people are throwing around. Is it realistic? Prob not. However you can bet his name has been mentioned among the brass. Personally I'd stick with Wallace, Garçon/Britt, BP, Moore/Camp, Reynolds, mid round draft pick, Bell, later round draft pick, going into the 75.

  6. There MUST be another Vet alongside Perriman. I'm sorry but from what we've seen hasn't impressed. I swear he's a Taylor reincarnate. He's basically like a guy coming from a no name HS JV squad and suddenly playing against Alabama. Next year he could prove to be a legit #2 but you still need to have him 3rd in the pecking order from the start. Personally I'd extend and restructure Wallace and bring in a guy like Garçon or Britt, if available, as your chain mover on a 2 or 3 year deal, whatever the cost. I can equally see the release of Wallace if they grab Alshon but with the contract needed I'd say that's gonna force BP into more of the spotlight than he's ready for. Maybe I'm wrong and that's the combo Joe needs and he throws for 4000+ again only this time with 35+ TDs.

  7. I can kinda see the reasoning behind keeping Marty on for continuity and not having a 5th new OC in Joes career. But why Pees? What's the excuse of having the #1 D until mid season and than sliding week after week back? Jimmy was hurt? You can't say Doom because he was out when we were ranked 1st. The only player we lost to significant time on the back end of the season in which we looked horrible was Jimmy. The vaunted run D got shredded for over 100 the last 4 games. With the same front 7. Sorry but that's not the players, that's he scheme that failed.

It's not going to be Dennison. Elway already said as much. They already have it narrowed down to 3 or 4 candidates, all of which are outside of the organization.

True, they're looking at Kyle. Given Kubes was a Shannahan decouple, along with Dennison, but I bet he stays on as their OC.

Rick Dennison. Kubiak is retiring so he won't necessarily stay in Denver and we need our 2014 offense back.

And WHO do you think is gonna become their HC? Cmon Dennison is from Denver. He's gonna get their HC gig, Kubes will make sure of that.

  10. From a OL standpoint. I have a feeling that Lewis gets moved to RG and Yanda stays at LG. Ducasse gets retained cheap as a back up. Wagner becomes the priority and gets resigned. Zuttah gets cut and we use our 2nd  for a starting C, honestly I think Zuttah retires, you can tell his heart just isn't in it anymore.

Wallace really depends on IF they keep Marty, or go a different direction. But I'm 100% certain he doesn't play under a 8m cap hit next year. He'll be restructured and extended or cut and resigned. Depending on WHO they go after. But the problem is we're not in a position to get, say a Garçon cheap for a chance at a ring. Or a Alshon. Anyone who comes here will want to be paid, albeit maybe they'll except less than someone like Cleve would spend, But if a team like the Packers or someone is also calling they'll answer that phone first.

Defensively.  I don't think anything really matters if they don't get rid of Pees.

But let's just invision they do. BWill is gone, I think his price tag took a huge hit, and honestly I still don't want him. Doom is gone, notice how our severe drop in run D coinicided with his "return". I have a feeling he'll be cut and come back under a very cheap deal to prove he's not done just so he can leach onto another playoff ready team. Wright is gone, along with Powers. My guess is Arrington stays, because without injury he's one of the better slot CBS in he league(with a competent DC). Speaking of corners no ones talking about Jimmy, again. He'll be restructured. He hasn't lived up to his contract because he can't stay on the field.

The best part of all this. We can truly stick to BPA in the draft and still fill a need.

DL looks gassed and as bad as it is, Pees has done really well with the DL in terms of pinches and gap attacks. I personally think they should be playing less snaps, offense does nothing what so ever to help this defense out.

No sorry. He got butt slammed early, which is typically his forte in having a great first half and than not adjusting,
