  1. Lemme see if I can find it. I pulled those stats from Pro Football Reference just because they keep every silly stat going back to the start of the NFL lol. And they rank D on ppg. Ill see if nfl.com goes back that far as they do ypg.
  2. Charles, not sure when those other kickers contracts were signed, but for a kicker I dont see inflation as much. WR and CB seem to have the largest inflation, while RB jas fallen considerably. Not sure where kickers fall tbh. As for Camp, man the dude os great, for the 2 games a year hes available. If they waste their time in keeping him Ill honestly be speechless.
  3. Ive been saying this. It makes the most sense, money wise and skill wise. Honestly KO hasnt played a full season in his career. Thats who you want as your starting LT, who wasnt even projected coming into the draft of being a LT to begin with? Sorry but Im gonna go with the experts that said he's a decent starting RT but even better suited for G. And hes had a banged up rookie contract not even playing every game. Its just a big NO. If you think Monroe is a bum than OK draft Tunsil or Stanley. We could move back up a few spots and still land one. And move on from there.
  4. Gonna have to double check now. Lol. But hey thats what a forum is for. Pff should have those stats. BrbEdit: nope just checked. The 99 Rams were 4th in D on ppg. Hmmmm a top 5 D along with that offense that everyone talks about. Actually checked the whole era of the "Greatest show on turf" their D never ranked worse than 12th. Edit 2: Again incorrect. The 1979 and 80 seasons of the Chargers yoire talking aboit they were 2nd in ppg on D and 3rd.
  5. The 2000 and 2012 Ravens would disagree, the Seahawks would disagree, the Pats(back when they won SBs and dont say last year as Seattle handed them the win) would disagree, the Giants would disagree, and even ignoring the past and just looking at this year...who are the Dominant teams? Carolina, whats their D ranked? Minn, again #1D, Denver because of D, Arizona again higher ranked D than O, so on and so forth....the abbirition is NE and I bet they get smoked in the WC round at home just like the last time they were in this position, ahem Ravens knocking them out with a damn good D and a running game. Just look at history. Take the past 5 years of playoff teams. Most had a D ranked higher than their O. Or they were really close to each other. NO team with a top 5 offense and a bottom 5 D has EVER made the postseason past the WC round, as far as I know.
  6. But heres the point. The DISCONNECT. Yes we run a 4-3 under far more than a traditional 3-4. Because thats the horses we have. But Pees is a straight up 3-4 guy. He doesnt know HOW to call this D. And doesnt know how to use the personnel. Hey I give the guy credit, he's out of his comfort zone and still at least trying. But like I said, everyone has to be on the same page. And for the past couple years, they haven't been. As for leadership. Someone else touched on it. There will never be another Ray. BUT their are plenty of leader type guys out there and we need some, lol.
  7. Hence why we've been drafting more 4-3 style personnel. We just need a coach that knows how to play it. Again a disconnect between FO, Coaches, and scouts. Everyones gotta get on the same train. This isnt simply fire Pees or we. This is, they all need to get on the same page. And we havent been, for years. Look, think Pees os a good DC? Thats fine, but get the scouts and Oz on board and find who he needs. But weve been drafting for a 4-3 and fitting into a 3-4 minded guy playing in a nickle with a 4-3 base almost half the time. The conduit is broken. Thats all Im saying.
  8. THIS is exactly the reply I was hoping for. Punching holes in the idea, but than we need to find ideas to fill those. But ty for a honest post. Youre correct. Ed was the SS and played their first, BUT check his draft profile. Theyres a few out there that say his athleticism and ball skills say FS. Check nfldraftscout. But all in all yes. Jerrigan was a substandard NT who really lacked the weight. He was projected better as a 4-3 dt. Again. Check draft history. And really they said he would be great as a sub but needed things before being a starter, hence why I have him listed as a rotational guy. NOT a starter. As for BWill and where and when he plays, thats on Pees. Who maybe you take some cred in, but given our stats and play, I dont. I dont feel he has the slightest idea how to use guys. BWill was a NT and played 5tech in college, and every single scouting report on him says he can play either. Ill trust profeesionals over Pees as a failed DC everywhere hes been. You can say personal bias. I choose facts. Again. Hes failed everywhere and gets zero cred. But true. We have many holes on D. But fact remains, we have less holes in a 4-3 under, which we actually play the majority of the time, than a 3-4 next year. In a 3-4 we have 2 olbs that are older, one a season ending injury, the other the worst stats of his career, and noone behind them. We have 1 MLB and a big maybe next to him. We have a Dline with a bunch of rotation and guys playing out of position. Last year we played the nickle, which is a extension of the 4-3 34% of the time. This year its 41% . again those are facts. We dont have the horses to play the 3-4. We just dont. Far more holes.
  9. It was a joke. Cmon man. You read the rest, just couldnt find a fault. You post on 105.7 I bet. Lol. Kidding. Again.
  10. No the problem was they brought in Schlub to help Trestman with the offense and keep that continous for Joe. Instead of saying let Marc run his own. Ya couldve gotten a bum of the street and handed him the playbook. Thats dumb. You bring a guy in, let him run HIS offense. You had the whole offseason to work on language and plays and so on. Its not like Caldwell after Cam in the middle of the season. THIS is why we were graded as front runners. New guy in, new offense. But no we played cute and handed the playbook to Trestman and told him to learn it. Thats arsebackwards.
  11. Honestly heres the prob I have with Pags. His players love him. Sure he's gonna get fired. BUT it isnt like he failed as a HC. TBH this seems like another Kubiak situation. Sure he comes back here. Turns everything around and boom gets HC offers again. Maybe hes here for a year, maybe 2. Thats it. Id rather have Petine tbh. Hes never gonna get another HC gig if he gets the can. Unless he gets offers this year once Cle cans him, if they do. If so teams can say hey its Cle who cares and offer HC gigs. Kinda like Rex. Otherwise IF he takes a DC job thats where hes stuck for a while. The Cle stink will settle in and a year or 2 of turning a D around isnt gonna be enough to wear it off. All the drama going on there in Cle. Nope hed at least be here for a while. But honestly both run a 3-4. Which is so called our base. But our personnel says 4-3 so like another poster said we run alot of 4-3 under and transition to nickle frequently. We have for the past 2 years. We really really need a 4-3 guy. Ive suggested the assistant DC out of Minn honestly. Since hes been there that D has gone from 32nd in ppg, to 17th, to 11th, to this year 1st!
  12. ^Think that might have something to do with the line? The entire left side playing out of position and a C thats a rook there. ? Just saying. Buck has done well considering what hes working with. And look at West, against a damn good run D. I think those 2 need to split carries the next 2 weeks against some of the best in the biz with our makeshift line. BUT from what Ive seen, I dont think Forsett would turn in a better perf. After all you brought up his 2 best games, yes arguably the one being the final game of the offseason. BUT cointering that the other 4 games he averaged under 3.2 ypc. Everyone was talking that he looked worn out. Than he busts a great game at the end in a losing battle and suddenly fans forget that he didnt do squat the 2 games before, had a ok game before that, and 3 games before the ok game averaging less than 3 ypc. Seems we have short memories. Sorry Imma go with the youngins that are cheap and want to make a point and earn their one payday.
  13. Aiken isnt getting a long term deal. Hell be tendered maybe a 2nd rounder. Think thats 1.6m if Im correct. Tucker should get 3.6M. The average of the top 5 kickers. With how bad he is at home Id say his agent would be a fool to ask to make him the highest paid kicker in the league. Honestly if that was even the starting point Id kick, haha see what I did there?, them right out of the office and say dont bother coming back. I agree Schaub should be gone. Tbh Id rather keep Claussen cheap. He can be Joes backup. Next year when they actually run Trestmans system at least he knows the language. MBrown Im eating huge crow on. What a disapointing pile he is. I wouldnt even tender him. Let him boast to his fellow fry makers at McDs about his awesome rookie year. With that the WR core needs some help, so keep Givens no reason not to. Hope Sr comes back. Hope theres a alien sighting of Perriman, keep Aiken like I said above as the 3 or 4 depending on spread. BUT bring in Garcon once Wash cuts him. 2 year deal at 2 money. Hell take it and wont be in any bidding wars. As weve discussed before. Perriman, Sr, Garcon, Aiken, Givens, Waller and finally a mid round draft pick to round it all out.
  14. Rmc damn good post. Honestly I dont see us cutting anyone early, except Canty, and Lewis, and Forsett honestly. None have a future here. As much as fans love Forsett, this year, last year in the pkayoffs and even towards the end of the season he just didnt have the legs. He doesnt have the wear and tear people say, true but father time gets everyone. Doesnt matter if youre a construction worker or sit in a office, after 30 well things just start going downhill, lol. Webb, with his restructure, he'll be here next year. If we dont draft Ramsey than maybe he moves there, like fans have begged for, or maybe the new DC brings in his own guy. Maybe the new DC can get something out of Brooks or Elam and make them a serviceable FS. Who knows. Elam didnt look bad there. Minus Ramsey may be our best bet tbh. Brooks was projected as a robber and backup and contribute on ST coming out. Hes NOT our FSof the future. Again square peg round hole. Monroe also will be here. Unless they draft Tunsil or Stanley. Maybe hes not a Raven. Maybe hes punked out like some pundits and writers suspect. BUT when he plays, hes better than KO by a large margin. Better than Hurst by so much I think he could go out in a cast and one arm tied behind his back and still be better. Those few fellows will be based upon who we draft and be post june 1 cuts, which isnt a bad thing. Forgot DSmith. Sorry. He gone. Pre June1. Pitta, retired and prob use the single post June 1, prior to June 1 designator teams are allowed. Spread that 6.6 over 2 years. Prob one of the worst contracts weve ever signed. Despite fan "feelings" his stats said "average" TE that we signed coming off a major surgery to Davis, Graham, Gronk type of money. So stupid.
  15. There are a ton. Google it. Unfortunatly even scientists cant agree. One study shows a significant jump in lower leg injuries, than another group counters saying its nill. However all things considered there is a chart out there, lower leg injuries for the Ravens have INCREASED since we switched to the turf. All things considered, not to mention the players voted on it and thats good enough for me.
  16. Ahhh apologies. I knew he signed a 2 year deal in 14, but it was a 2 yr extension. Your right, my mistake.
  17. Honestly I think we need Ramsey moreso than Bosa. Yes Bosa is prob the best player on the board. Tenn would be foolish not to take him. That said next year we have no FS. Lewis is horrible. Brooks, who knows whats up with him. Ramsey is a playmaker that we desperately need to produce turnovers and be put in a single high look to roam, sorta like what Seattle does.
  18. The 4-3 is what we need to switch to. ZSmith, graded and played as a DE. Urban was a DT but played all along the line. Size for a DE, especially those long arms and ht to stop and screens or passes into the flat on his side. BWill was a NT in a 4-3. Upshaw was graded best for a 4-3. Carl Davis played in a 4-3. Jerrigan was a undersized dt in a 3-4 but could rotate in a 4-3. Bama and Mosley. Again 4-3. ABrown 4-3 backer. No wonder they all play subpar in a 3-4. Most have never played in one till they got here.
  19. Id like Smith if were picking say 7-10 with the 3rd? No. I talked about JSmith back when I thought we would be in the teens picking. But 3rd, no. Id rather get Scooby Wright with the 36th pick tbh. Tunsil, or Ramsey with the 3rd. A draft of Ramsey, Wright, a WR, than bpa including a couple more OL.
  20. KC has a pretty good D, and while Hali may not be the player he was hes still damn good. KO held his own, Ill give him that. Jensen is horrible at G and proved hes a backup and nothing more. Now we can argue till were blue in the face. Should we resign KO and tell Monroe to take a hike, or draft Tunsil to play LG until Monroe goes down, again and than move him to LT the following year? All legit questions. However, we need to retain a few other guys also BWill for one will be the biggest contract. Tucker has to be paid along with Hill. I just dont see the cap space to keep KO, Bwill, Hill and Tuck. Tuck being the cheapest prob. Were gonna have to sacrifice one of these guys. Period. Personally I choose KO, just because Urschel can step in at LG and I think will do well.
  21. IF we win and the Jets win the Steelers are out. Well unless KC and Buffalo both dont lose out. Theyre a game and a half out of the playoffs right now. Ill give up a couple spots to knock them out of the playoffs.
  22. Dream away bro lol. Id certainly be ecstatic also. As for scheme Id like us to switch to the 4-3 thats the horses we have. We need a Will backer and thats it, but that was where ABrown was toted to be best at coming out of college. We need to stop trying to fit square pegs into round holes. Think thats part of our defensive problems.
  23. Ditto on the pants. Please never use them again. The good: The Steelers are still a game out of the playoffs, we moved up to tje 3rd pick with Sd winning so all in all ot couldve been worse. Lol. Gotta look on we bright side we can.
  24. Maybe Jeff Howard. Hes the Defensive Assistant in Minn. Been there 3 years theyve gone from 32nd ranked to 17th to 11th and this year 1st. Theyre doing something right over there.
  25. Venables is the guy youre talking aboit. Not gonna happen, might as well hope for Munchack lol. Id kill to get him here however he's the highest paid DC in history right now. Id like to poach from AZ. But they run a 3-4. Maybe grab from Minn. They run a 4-3 and lead the league in ppg. Withnot a ton of talent either.
