  1. Ok some people are arguing win this game for pride and who cares about draft position. Me personally, I say get ALL the players involved. We know what we have in Hill, we know Lewis(bum), so get Elam and Brooks back there. We know Doom, so let ABrown take all those snaps. So on and so forth..... This should be treated like a preseason game. The Bengals are fighting for a 1st rd bye. Theyll be playing hard. So send ALL of our borderline or questionable guys out there full time!!!!! If we get blown out, who gives a damn? We have nothing to play for. And IF the youngsters somehow win than ok. But pull Yanda, Jimmy, Webb, Lewis, Hill, Mosley, Doom, and a couple others that we already know their fate, be it there here or gone. Some others are def locked here but they gotta play to either get more snaps, like Aiken, or their gone and noone behind them that needs snaps like Upshaw. Lol.
  2. Im with you on that. Tbh I thought maybe using him as a 4-3 end on running downs to stuff it and lock down one side and than letting Suggs step in on passing downs, but hes even degraded there. Just dont know what the deal is. I agree, let him walk. Some team will pick him up and maybe he'll award us a decent comp pick next year. Prob not, best we can hope for is maybe the last pf the comps. Lol
  3. Oh and another thought. Buck ran for 4.4 ypc against whats graded a pretty good squeelrs D. I have full confidence in a trio of Allen, Tali and West next year and Trestmans ability to use them as needed.
  4. Kentucky runs a 4-3. Z was the DE there. Just saying.
  5. I never said throw 50 times a game. Trestman is a pass first OC. He uses passing to set up the run. This year he hasnt been allowed to use his playbook. Let him run the offense, and if passing 50 times is what he likes and wins games than great. Not up to us. But what Im saying is we have more pressing needs that 2.3M can go towards when we have all these backs on the roster. Let the younger cheaper guys handle it. Like how the rest of the league has done.
  6. As Ive said before. A new DC that runs a 4-3. Suggs and ZSmith as the starting DEs with BWill Davis inside and Jerrigan rotational. We need 1 maybe 2 4-3 olbs and I suspect ABrown gets a shot there. Maybe Orr on the strong side, well see. Joes contract MUST get done early or we'll again be picking scraps off the trash heap. But say they get it done within the next few months... WR. I really hope they dont think Sr coming back is the answer. Ive mentioned Garcon, but maybe VJax, hey who knows maybe Minn moves on from Wallace and he lands here. Hasnt done much since leaving Pitt but thats with noodle arm Tannehill and than Bridgewater in a run first offense. Opposite Perriman with Sr in the slot thats a pretty interesting combo. With Aiken spelling Sr and limiting his reps, he will be 37 yrs old give the guya little break, lol. We absolutely must figure out FS and CB. Ramsey or Vh3 cmon down. If we dont draft Ramsey than I dont know what to do there. Webb isnt the answer. Elam played decent at FS his rookie year, than all of a sudden he sucks? I dont buy it. New DC and a secondary coach that wasnt a punter or we he was, maybe with real coaching he can be serviceable for now? For those other posts: Webb isnt going anywhere next year. Not with that restructure. Monroe will be our LT unless we can find a trade partner, we wont just cut him. The cap money says no. KO is very likely gone. Some team will pay him big G money but it wont be us, we invested in Yanda, rightfully so, and Urschel can step right in. Hes getting valuable snaps at C so he's getting even more familiar with the line calls and snap count,etc... Which is great as we wont need to worry about offsides penalties from our 2 guards next year. So to sum up. We need a FA WR, NOT a draft pick. Need some experience moving forward as this really will be Sr last ride. A 4-3 OLB, possible starter, possible depth depending on what the new DC sees on film of our whole LB corps. A FS and a CB. One of these 2 must be a playmaking starter. Right now. Not 3 years from now. Figure out LT. Monroe is a man. Ask him straight up. Do you want to be on this team? Cause you fake another injury and we'll leave you in we city were in. Sometimes guys need a gutcheck. He needs one this offseason. In or out. If out, fine well get a 6th rd pick from someone for him. Out, than we gotta use our 2nd rd pick on the best available T. Or maybe forced to pay KO and say bye bye to a couple guys we wanted to keep and even more next year. Sucks but thats really the bottom line.
  7. You said not many RBs are getting that production for 2.3m. Hence my point. He isnt getting paid that, he's getting close to 4m. 2.3 is just the savings. As for only 4 RB's hitting over 1000 yards, how many are in a system where theyre getting fed the ball? Lets just say for arguments sake that he finsihed with a 4.2 ypc avg. That would put him 11th in the league. Right now were graded 24th in rushing ypc at 3.9! .3 ypc is the difference between 11 and 24. Just my opinion but further points out that he is a,luxury we just dont need.
  8. Sigh, its still a 4 man front utilizing the exact players weve been talking aboit for a 4-3. And what happens? We stuff the hottest offense in the league. This isnt rocket science. Dont know why youre makong this difficult. Are you related to Peas?
  9. Until his injury he was having his 2nd worst year in ypc since hes been in the NFL. Sorry, but hes done. He's not a #1 3 down, or even 2 down back anymore. Dont care about total carries or any of that stuff. Father time effects the body regardless. What team currently in the playoffs relies on a heavy running game with a monster back? Minn and AP, and KC with Charles but he got hurt and their still winning with no names. Well the Skins, but thats more a combo of a pathetic division and backing into the playoffs. Sorry but 2.3m in cap relief can go to adding a WR, CB or passrusher that actually matters in todays NFL.
  10. Well agree to disagree, he'll be coming into his second year, with guys another year and 2 rotating through also with Tali and West. If they cant get it done than they shouldnt be in the league. RB isnt a hard job, no use spending money there.
  11. Ummm 2.3m is the cap relief we would receive from cutting him. Not what he would cost as a cap hit next year, which I belive is about 6m. Gotta double check. Youre point is moot.
  12. Plenty of rookies are starters, and certainly by their second year. This isnt like corner where the transition to the NFL speed takes a bit. RB is a dime a dozen position. 2.3M is a relief we could use. Buck, Tali and West will be just fine.
  13. Forsett and his 2.3M is the odd man out. Sorry, about time we started cutting ties with aging guys costing too much for production.
  14. I dunno, we'll see. I still say Garcon gets cut and thats who we should target. A inexpensive guy on a 2 year deal trying to prove himself again. Matthews will be in the mix, along with Waller. Well prob keep one and cut, ps the other. Camp is gone, along with MamaBrown. If Perriman cant get on the field or produce a 1000 yd season itll go down as one of the worst draft picks in Ravens history. BUT for the sake of argument lets say he performs. Perriman and Sr are both locks, provided he comes back. In any case I wouldnt put any stock or let Sr coming back adjust anything I want to do as a FO. Hes a luxury at this point. So.... Go get Garcon. I think Givens is a lock also. Im looking at it like: Perriman Garcon Givens Aiken Than Matthews, Waller, Butler, DBrown and a 3rd rd draft pick all get to fight for the final spots. And IF Sr does come back that drops someone onto the PS or cut, like in the final cutdown. Cant play around with BS this year. No more favorites or give the guy a chance. Perform or go away.
  15. Just a note. Yesterday we used a 4 man frint almost exclusively. And ZSmith showed what he can do as a 4-3 DE. Just saying.
  16. Its setting up to be a good schedule. But of course alot can change. The travel is whats really gonna help us. Last time we didnt even have to travel past the mississippi river, we won the SB. Next year we only cross it once, JerryLand.
  17. Please don't make obviously intoxicated posts right after a big win. Its just well, silly.
  18. Were still 5-10, soon to be 5-11, nothing to play for next week and really dont want to win and drop more draft positions. Beating the Steelers was different. Anyways 1 game doesnt make up for his ineptitude as our DC. I dont think he called a great game as some have said, I d2d say its more of a hated team rivalry getting the guys fired up and a very very familiar opponent so guys werent quite as lost.
  19. He said Webb is less worse, ala Webb is playing better than Jimmy. Honestly its true. But they both look lost tbh.
  20. Yeah and people still think our DB coach isnt horrible. They handed Jimmy a contract to be a #1 after he proved himself. Now he looks lost. Same with career guys like Webb and Arrington. The entire year the secondary looks lost. Thats your DC and Secondary guy not being on the same page. Actually feel kinda bad for those guys.
  21. Not to play that role. Ramsey is a roaming FS that uses instincts, speed and a solid technique. Hill would be better at that assignment. But you could run a 4-3 single high and leave Ramsey back as the lone "safety" and bring Hill up to the line to cover the TE.
  22. Honestly youre correct. We need to bring in the assistants from Minn, Az and KC. They all have poachable ones. And all top 6 Defenses. And say this is what we got, most of them have studied game film on our players anyway, and say what can ya do? Minn runs a base 4-3 under similar to what we run most of the time anyway. BUT maybe someone from Az or KC can say [profanity deleted] Id change this and this and the talent is here for a top 5 gimme a shot while drafting x person and picking up y FA and letting go this or that. Dunno Im all for suggestions. I say interview them all and see whatcha got. We know with Pees theres a disconnect. He cant coach this style. And its not his fault. He just needs to go to a system that runs it, or produces it. Tbh Id rather he move to college and boost up a 3-4 program, because if you look at things, most guys coming out at the top of the boards are from 4-3 style schools.
  23. You said Fouts and Gibbs. That was only the 79 and 80 seasons. Lol. Thats what I checked bub. I was born in 79, I obviously dont remember back that far. Lmao. Get on your laptop or tablet or we, and send me a pm as to where to look. But nfl.com is decent. Or even better is ProFootballReference.com. google or yahoo or we your search is it. Wealth of knowledge bro. Ill help, its all good, I hate this internet [profanity deleted] too, but dont know what youre looking for. Ya gotta give me specifics, hell I found fouts and gibbs that were only 79 and 80 by a search. But give me what youre looking for exactly and Ill help look it up. But gotta tell me what ya need.
  24. Another tidbit, since you made me look at nfl.com. EVERY team in the top 10 on D in ppg is in the playoffs as of right now. And not a single team in the bottom 10 even has a remote chance. Most have been eliminated already. 1 team has to win out and another team lose out to get in, the cluster that is called the NFC East. Thats it. But only 5 of the top 10 offenses are in the playoffs right now. Now a couple of those 5 are also in that top 10 category on D. And guess how many have offenses i m the bottom 10 of the league? Yep 3 of them. 3 teams are in the playoffs, if the season ended today. With a top 10D and a bottom 10 O. And the team with the #1 D in the league, and the 28th ranked O. So keep thinking the league is changing to all offense and the Arena league if you want. But the past 2 SB winners( Seattle won IDC what the trophy says, that team won but they decided to let Marsha Brady have another ring, bet they got kickbacks) were based on a monster top 3 D and a top 3 run game. Period. What WE used to be.
  25. The 1980 Chargers were ranked 8th in ypg, per nfl.com, 1979 they were 24th in ypg. Kinda a odd change. 24th in ypg and 3rd in ppg, tightened up the ypg to 8th and bumped them 1 slot to 2nd in ppg. The 99 Rams were 26th in ypg, sigh the Ravens 30th. Edit: BUT while being 26th and 30th the Rams were 4th in ppg and the Ravens 6th. Very different times back than for sure. But really I could care less how many yards a D gives up. Im worried about points, 3rd down % and Turnovers. In that order. Who cares about yards? They dont win the games. Points do. Turnovers do.
