I hope when DeCosta takes over next year he cleans house. The ravens will try to bandaid this team but in the end 5-11 or 4-12 next year. Team lacks Playmakers and we aren't buying any so this team looks bad next year. I use to be a Flacco supporter but he is killing the team with his cap number.
not sure i trust decosta as much any longer because he has been a top aide to oz when these crappy picks have been made early in the draft.
nfl.com has an article on wagner saying he will be the prize RT on the market and will get more than 8 million per season so see u later wagner. there will be some vets we can sign and plug in there unless we have someone in house that may be ready for a shot. maybe we sign guard dj fluker and bump lewis outside. i could care less if we lose juice. we do not utilize him properly plus his blocking has not impressed me on short yardage. he is no vonta leach. b williams sets the tone for our lb's to have clear lanes to the rb's so he should be the priority but i fear his cost will make me sick to my stomach
need a receivers coach that will get these guys to run crisp routes and improve their overall technique. the team needs to start developing its own receivers instead of leaning on cap casualties or trades
I still see Garcon as a pipe dream - if he receives an offer from ozzie at all, he'll be offered much more money elswhere, of that I'm, sure. I'm afraid the same applies to Brandon Marshall.
The only free agent linked to the Ravens I think is really worth reaching deep into the pocket for, is Nick Mangold. Without a quality C the best we can hope for from, the O is something similar to what we saw last season...So, unless a cap-happy organization throws fool's money at him, I think Ozzie should make signing Mangold our free agent priority.I agree that we need a better Center and that is a position that you need veteran experience. Mangold if healthy would really help solidify our line but I just worry about that ankle. He missed 8 games was placed on IR and said he needed surgery and now he is saying that he does not need the surgery because rehab went well. That concerns me.
i am all for signing mangold but if that happens the fo really needs to draft a center to learn from him for a year or 2. they blew it when birk was here and they drafted an undersized gradkowski that got man handled on every play
i do not see us retaining wagner or williams. years of crappy contracts and extensions have caught up to us. hoping we can keep one of them
these articles are premature. should wait until after free agency so we have a better sense of what the target positions will be the 1st few rounds. also please do not write anymore articles about flacco needing to do this or wanting to do that. we have read every possible article about flacco these past several years. how about doing articles about the scouts and the inner workings of building the draft board and what is discussed in pre draft meetings etc..etc..
DeSean Jackson, if he doesn't command an outrageous salary. Worked great with Marty when they were both with the Eagles, proven veteran, all around solid receiver.
another one dimensional receiver. we already have 2 burners on the team and desean has had injury issues the past few years as well
30 minutes ago, Raven in ATL said:we draft WRs about as well as Cleveland does QBs
very true
I would like to add Kendall Wright. Low cost, longevity, proven possession receiver that can get open. We need players that can keep us from consistently going 3 and out, allowing us to score on any drive.
TY Tucker!
i like kendall as well and he has youth on his side but can marty utilize him properly?
the team needs to figure out why they cannot develop receivers. i hate seeing teams draft receivers in the later rounds that become pro bowlers while we draft projects like reynolds, ron johnson, javin hunter, devard darling, clarence moore, derek abney, demetrius williams, yamon figurs, marcus smith, justin harper, david reed, tandon doss, tommy streeter, aaron mellette, camponaro(go figure always injured), darren waller, chris moore(we shall see), jermaine lewis was a solid return guy but this list does not even include the 1st and 2nd rnd guys that did not pan out like patrick johnson, travis taylor, mark clayton, torrey was one dimensional for a 2nd rnd pick, perriman(important year for him). we need to hit a homerun one of these drafts on a receiver
maybe ozzie and eric will agree it would be best to draft a kicker at #16 to challenge tucker since he missed 1 kick all season.
may be tough to keep mallett at a reasonable cost especially after looking at that list above. gabbert or hoyer?
flacco is good enough with a strong d as long as pees does not go into prevent and blows it which has happened enough to get him fired imo), he needs a consistent running game and some time to throw. if he has all 3 than the offense will be successful but still not worth $24 million.
manziel time baby!! hehehehe
the new o-line coach may be able to get more out of guys like jensen, urschel, nembot, hurst, ducasse with a few tweaks but it would be a risk to take that chance so hopefully wagner isnt just all about the $$ and signs for a fair cost that will allow us to sign talented players to the roster
Our wrs next year-
Mike Wallace
Brandon Marshall
Breshad Perriman
Chris Moore
Campanaro (get healthy somehow man!)
+ 1 or 2 rookies
Seems like we say it every season now......and it's mainly because he's never had great wrs. But imo that would be the best wr core Flacco's ever had
that would be a solid group if they stay healthy and the o-line stays healthy than no more excuses for flacco can be made
because we only have 7 picks it would not surprise me if ozzie trades back in either the 1st or 2nd to hoard more picks.
not completely sold on mangold. he had his struggles with injuries this past season which scares me at his age but we do need a mauler that does not get pushed back in short yardage situations
need to use some of those 4-7th rd picks to move up and get better players
An extra 3rd round pick in this years draft is a big deal of us. DBs
not unless they draft another gilmore or cousins
bryn renner baby!!
i would love to see us take Marcus Williams if he's there in the 2nd round or Obi Melifonwu both guys look to have a flash that could indicate them being playmakers
have to agree with you if they are still on the board in the 2nd.
not sold on any of these guys at 16 but definitely in the 2nd rd aside from tim williams who allegedly failed multiple drug tests. if he indeed fail them than i wouldnt touch him unless he falls to the 3rd or 4th which i highly doubt that will happen especially with jerry jones in the mix. i still feel cb, a menacing safety or receiver should be our pick at 16
going to be a tough call on wagner/williams. they will probably both be priced out of our range.

i agree it would make for a nice gesture and show how much he wants another ring by taking a pay cut but i will not hold my breath on that happening
