  1. wonder what jamaal charles asking price is. yes he is as brittle as they come but he has skills and if he were to accept a 1 year deal that worked with our cap space and with performance bonuses would it make sense for us being that dixon is out for 4 games and will have to earn himself playing time. taliafero is a ? as well and west is not someone that can carry the load himself. im sure it will also depend on whether we add anyone in the draft

  2. it all comes down to the draft we need 4 starters out of this draft class or we will not make the playoffs and we will have a new coach

if we end up with a new coach than i hope we end up with a new gm as well. years of bad picks, bad luck, bad contracts and bad personnel moves have taken a toll but i hope things are turning around for the better. last years draft seems like it was solid and hopefully kc and kaufusi make that draft class solid by contributing this season

I agree with everything you say about building the team, except your assessment of Dean Pees compared to Gus Bradley.  Dean Pees runs an amazing defensive scheme.  It has so many checks and options that in 2013 Manning and Brady just lined up and ran plays otherwise they would be playing chess with Ray Lewis and Ed Reed in Dean Peas Defense.   Dan Quinn runs the same defense as Gus Bradley.  The fatal flaw in the defense is you can always determine if the defense is in zone or man.  That's how the Pats Isolated Atlanta's 4th corner and threw at him almost every play to come back and win.  Dean Pees couldn't make Sharice Wright or the other corners besides Smith run faster.  Dean Peas can only call the plays the players have to execute them.   And I think we are all ready better just by replacing Wright with Carr.  I'd like to add the 4.3 speed of Justin Gilbert for a veterans minimum contract.  He could be the difference in winning a Super Bowl  But as someone who played in a version of the Tampa 2 before it was the Tampa 2, I would much rather play in a scheme like dean Pees. The Tampa 2 was a Monty Kiffin defense right?    Well he was a complex 3-4 scheme in New Orleans but he used to come over the state line just to watch Texas high school games.  Quite a few of us played version of a 2 deep safety base look.  When Kiffin went to Tampa the team was so bad instead of trying to install his defense he put in a version of this 4-3 One gap rush, Two deep safety zone.  He tinkered with it and Rick McKay drafted for him and that'show a relatively common Texas high school and college defense became the Tampa 2.   Sorry I got off topic I hope it was ok I shared the story.

thank you for sharing but i just do not feel pees is creative enough to disguise blitzes like marvin, rex and chuck were pretty good at doing when the pass rush needed a boost and i feel his age keeps him from being too aggressive at times because he has the old school mentality. he is also slow when adjustments need to me made but he is definitely better than greg mattison but i will wait and see what he does with the roster he will have this season.

This is related to Jernigan...and I know people will disagree with this, but just putting it out there.
Having said all that about Tabor as a possible 2nd round pick in the comment below.......
I 100% believe that Brandon Carr is a great addition. And I think he'll be with us for at least 2 years....In which case it's tough to spend a 2nd round pick on a corner when you have Jimmy, Tavon, and Brandon. Their styles all compliment each other so well too. Imo, this draft is too loaded to not fill large needs with the first few picks, because we can do so without really straying from bpa at the same time.
Imo, in addition to reading a lot of our comments all the time, I would say that at least 2/3 of our die hard fans are looking for a Pass Rusher very early for sure, then we're all also looking for a WR and Olineman. With some sprinkled cries for a RB. Which makes sense. Then we all want a cb, and the reasons for that are obvious. We don't even need to go there, but I think the addition of Carr has pushed that need down the line a little for some..SO, what am I getting at with all of this???? Combine those needs, with this Loaded draft, with this- I know a lot of fans don't agree, but I think we are right there with anyone. Roster wise at least. Our coaches- if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all right? So after this draft, I think our Roster will be just as talented as the Patriots, if not a hair more- we need to Land Ross or Davis for the more to happen.
So with all these needs, and being so close, if we moved Timmy for a 2nd or 3rd, we could fill an immediate need, for cheap, for now and years. Without creating a need as well. We have so many awesome bodies up front that need to be on the field. I like Timmy, but I also want to see Carl Davis, Urban, Pierce for sure, Willie Henry, Kufasi, and then of course BWill is holding down the middle. That's a ton of bodies. And in all honesty, I like Timmy as a player. but I think he's a little overrated. And I'm not even sure if there'd be a drop off from him, to the rest of the guys I listed- again, just my opinion. We have 4 picks in the first 3 rounds right now. If we added another low 2, or high 3 to that, we really could fill all our needs. I would bet anything that at least a handful of pro bowl players go in the 3rd this year. People that would normally go at the top of the 2nd.
So all in all, the chances are he stays with us. But I definitely think there plenty of reasons to trade him. If, we could get a second or a 3rd, I don't think a 4th would be worth it.

So, if you read all of that, here's my take quick take on how we could "fill all our of needs", with our 5 picks in the first 3 rounds ( 1 from Timmy).
Round 1- Barnett- Edge Rusher, and potential future Sizzle replacement
Round 2 D'Onta Foreman- 234lb rb that just ran a 4.5. Him paired with Dixon for Years would be a thing of beauty.
Round 2/3-Tiimy Pick- Ju Ju Smith- WR- the Ravens better draft this guy, he's exactly what we need
Round 3- Pat Elfein- Our awesome Center for the next 10 years
Round 3- I'll let Ozzie pick the Right Tackle ( wink emoji)

Again just throwing this out there. This draft is nuts

i do not see barnett falling that far but i like that draft if it panned out that way. donta foreman is what we need in the backfield.

Awuzie looks really versatile and underrated. Tough kid that can play inside and outside. I think that would be a terrific 2nd round pick if he's still there. Though I'm really hoping we Ju Ju Smith in the 2nd if we don't take a wr in the first.
There are about 4 positions I wish we would go between the first and second round which is tough- Pass Rush, Wr, CB, and Center
I would love it if we traded up in the second round to take at least 2 2nd round picks. Especially considering at least half of the second rounders this year would normally go in the first in most drafts. I really don't think there's much of a drop off between picks 20-50 or 60 this year.
Here are 4 names. I really hope we draft at least 2 of them
    Ju Ju Smith
    Chidobe Awuzie
    Ethan Pocic
    Barnett

unfortunately i see ozzie trading back to hoard more picks but it would be nice to see him stay put

I can't see how you trade Zuttah to let Urschel or Skura take over. As for RT I think Nemot and Wesley have potential. I really think we need to bring back Doom at a reasonable salary and have him as a 3rd down pass rusher.

i like the idea of bringing doom back to push the younger guys. i think they will draft a big center and trade for a vet to cover us for a year or 2 while the rook adjusts

I don't get why they are not interested in Zach Brown. He could fill the void and perfect replacement for Orr and even a upgrade. If it because the compensatory pick then smh. He won't be that expensive to sign. Hurry up because the Dolphins and now Bills are interested. Zach Brown would make our defense even more scary.

i like brown as well but he is out of our price range with what we have left in cap space. still have to pay the rookies and have emergency $$ for in season signings when injuries occur. imo if correia does not step up than ozzie and the scouts will have dropped the ball on an early round pick yet again. hoping he is the real deal.
