if this does not work for the offense and if pees continues to blow leads than bisciotti will place the call to merry maids for the cleaning of the castle. i sure hope this all works out but it is going to be interesting to see if marty and greg will get along.
well in a few years when both los angeles teams are not drawing the fans because the fans in la could care less about football than hopefully that will be the end of goodells obsession to have football in that city.
he will take over in week 4. this draft is deep with cb's and edge rushers. hope the fo trades our late rd picks to move up or grab an extra 2nd or 3rd, pierre garcon or possibly kenny britt but i wish we could develop receivers for once. still hoping perriman and chris moore get it done
Any plan to motivate Joe to play like he did before he signed his mega-contract and lost all financial incentives? If so I'm sure everyone will be extremely interested.
Not fair to imply Joe isn't giving it his best, especially given the huge injury he sustained. Have you forgotten that, even after that injury, he stayed in the game for two more plays just to try to keep the drive going? Basically with one working leg??
Instead, how about wishing for an offensive line that can give him more than 1.2 seconds to throw the ball, and that can occasionally open up running lanes? And maybe some receivers who can get open and actually catch the ball?
basically the whole off. scheme and playbook needs an overhaul. watching the gb/giants game the other day made me realize how far behind our offense is. our schemes and routes the receivers run do not even compare to gb. their receivers are spread out all over the field while ours seem to end up in the same general area. they come back to the ball and are aware of where rodgers is in case he needs to be bailed out.
matt cavanaugh? jim fassel? rick neuheisel? the suspense is killing me
#2 is so true when it comes to flacco. he has not had the chance to master a specific system like brady and manning have but he also needs to put in the work to be better.
it was nice to hear that bisciotti has noticed the crappy qb play, poor drafting in the early rnds and avg. coaching and has made them all accountable moving forward. i am going to support all the decisions that have been made thus far and see how it all plays out next season and if we miss the playoffs im sure steve will make the right moves. go ravens!!
hope this does not end up as having too many cooks in the kitchen as hey say.
it is time to do so. they at least make upgrades to benefit the fans at the stadium and it is not cheap. so glad they are installing escalators and elevators to the upper level
still early to tell with dixon but we need a back that can take it to the house. i would still focus on cb and 3 down edge rusher 1st.
still too early to tell with dixon but we need a back that can take it to the house. still feel that cb or 3 down edge rusher should be the top priority
i have a good feeling about kaufusi
i am looking forward to seeing what kc and kaufusi do next season. my gut tells me kaufusi is going to be special.
Wasn't the Steelers game disgusting. We could have tromped all over the Dolphins. If Weddle, Orr and Mosley could have stopped 185 lb Antonio Brown from reaching the endzone, or the defense would have stopped any of those plays during that last drive, we would be in the drivers seat to beat NE and head to the big dance. Even PFT in their final ranking rated the Ravens and said it was a shame as it was one of the few teams that had the pieces to make it to the super bowl. Just not the defensive scheme to do so.
What about our Offense? Were they good enough for a SB run? (Heck No!) The defense won 7 games our offense won 1 game (Dolphins). We could have won more games if we let Tucker kick every FG when in his range.
Marty & Harbaugh preferred to let Flacco turn the ball over or fail on 4th down conversions instead of the "Automatic" 3 points.
thumbs up 1313
We are a Marcus Peters/Von Miller combo away from making it to the playoffs. That is exactly what this team is missing. A premium pass rusher and a shut down corner that can stay healthy.
do not forget about receivers as well
Keep NT – Brandon Williams, and even Mallet, clear house on anyone over age 27. Draft for size and speed with speed the most important factor. Our DB's are just short and slow. Our receivers scare NO One and for gods sake find a RB. Number 9 with ALA. would be a good choice, BIg, Fast something we haven't had since 2000. Just think what might have happened it we could have killed another 3-4 minutes in the last game with the Steelers. Lost to the Raiders buy dumb coaching calls. That's was with at best a 8 & 8 Team. Don't forget that Flaaco just stinks.
i would love to see this team add a big bruiser at rb to go along with dixon and west.
im nervous about trusting pierce to fill b. williams shoes. even jernigan fizzled out after his fantastic start to the season. going to be a tough call on whether to resign him or not but it will not be cheap.
i want to see what these young guys bring to the table. they need the reps. let doom walk. i would keep pitta suggs wallace. ask zuttah for a pay cut. we need him to mentor a new center. ask webb to take a pay cut or walk and the rest can go as well. watching the packers passing game is a thing of beauty. the routes and off. passing schemes we run do not even compare. a lot of work to be done if we are to improve.
I'd like to see the FO not try and prove how clever they are with the 2nd and 3rd-rounders...Hasn't worked to well in the past. I can see them trading back from 16, and then bundling some later round pics to move up / add pics in the 2nd and 3rd. There's a lot of depth in this draft at DE/OLB and CB.
There's a lot of depth, but there are some legitimate blue chip guys on defense that could still be around also, which is why I hope we stay at #16 and draft a player who could turn out to be a real difference maker. The quanity over quality approach that the FO gambles on may have worked out in the 4th round last year - I'll withhold judgement for awhile, though it looks promising - But in other drafts has ended up hurting us. I say go for the stud DE, OLB or DB in 2017.
i agree that we should stay put or even move up. stock piling picks has not worked because we end up cutting some of these lower rd guys in camp so why not pkg them to move up and grab better rated players. sure there is no guarantee they will pan out but lets try.
leveon bell and antonio brown 2 pro bowl players getiing it done against miami. playmakers!! something this offense lacks
how many of our skill players on offense have made the pro bowl since 1996. not too many.
I agree, a quality CB is desperately needed. Jimmy is great when he is out there, but he is out with injuries more often than in it seems. Tavon Young is awesome (but he is still learning) Wright and Powers are not top tier CBs. In my humble opinion for the draft I don't think a RB is needed, and because Wagner may leave in FA maybe an O line guy. Also a WR should be on the shopping list, but if I was the Ravens I would focus on the secondary (mainly CBs) as much as possible. GO RAVENS!
cb, 3 down edge rusher, hard hitting safety whether by draft, free agency or trade. hope it all works out
This Is an offensive league so I don't really blame the defense, at the end of the day the offense needs to score points and stay on the field to protect the defense. Why pay Flacco all that money if you want the defense to protect the offense? Tell Flacco to give half of that money he got and maybe they can build a defense. And I know people will start naming all these other QB's that got paid, well look at where there teams are, at home just like the Ravens and look at where they're ranked in QB ratings. Until that happens the Ravens will always be a 8-8 team or even worse. Only a hand full a QB's should get paid that amount of money because they can actually carry a team. Ravens shot themselves in the foot again when they extended Flacco's contract which set the team back again another 4 years. Ozzie has really been slipping lately.
It's not Joe's fault Webb is paid top corner money, and is now barely serviceable as a safety. It's not his fault that the only consistently productive defensive players to be drafted since the Super Bowl are Brandon Williams, Timmy Jernigan, CJ Mosley and Tavon Young. It's not his fault that the defensive coordinator has the corners play 10-15 yards off a receiver in 3rd and 5 situations, or that he can scheme a defense to play stout for 50 minutes before inexplicably disappearing for the final 10.
but it is his fault for not elevating the game of the receivers around him and not picking apart defenses like a 39 year old up north has done for over a decade now. flacco is entering his 10th season and he is regressing. he needs to do what it takes to improve.
houston lost jj watt for the whole season and still finished #1. we lose suggs last year and fall apart and brittle jimmy for 5 1/5 games and fall apart. no player gives back $$. they would be foolish to do so but flacco needs to get his act together and do whatever it takes to elevate his game and the players around him because he is making the kind of $$ that warrants it. i would trade pees for crennel in a heartbeat. his defense plays old school smash mouth football.

i have blasted juan numerous times but as far as developing lineman he does a very good job. he is just not suited to run the offensive line as a whole. the o-line needs to get bigger and more physical. i think zuttahs time here is over with both oz and harbs saying they want a bigger and stronger line
