Dunno if anyone else saw this, it's the trailer for The Wolverine.
HBO has a good slate of older movies right now. I finally saw Superman and Rocky for the first time.
Just watched Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel and it was great. The ( profanity deleted) generally does good work. It has the cop from Bridesmaids.
Argo is definitely better than TDKR, just saying. Stranger than fiction!
Blasphemy, Argo was a good movie. TDKR was better.
Just watched L.A. Confidential for the first time. What a fantastic movie, with three strong performances from Pierce, Crowe, and Spacey. That might be my favorite cop movie.
I don't think Nolan is worried about an award with the cheddar he pulled in from those movie flicks
It's more about the respect of his peers. He is clearly the greatest filmmaker of this generation, he just needs to pull a Spielberg and make his Schindler's List.
The Dark Knight Rises and the Dark Knight were very artsy and very good... But neither won best picture. The Dark Knight especially should have won. But you can't have a superhero movie winning best picture.
Those weren't artsy movies, Nolan hasn't made something artsy since Memento.
It wasn't nominated.
That's because the Academy doesn't appreciate good movies, they like artsy crap.
I would leave Con Air and Face Off off that list. Real ugly is an understatement. Also no Wild at Heart?
Con Air is the greatest film ever made. It's got everything. Malkovich for your acting chops, Nicky Cage for action, Buscemi for comedy, John Cusack for the gals. It's a smorgasbord.
Ah, The Rock. One of Michael Bay's two good movies.
He's also a terrible actor.
He's an effective actor when used correctly.
Wicker Man. Oh Nick Cage why are you such a terrible actor?
Hey man, he's an Oscar winner.

Classic.
Just watched Argo, and I feel kinda the way I did when The King's Speech won Best Picture. They're good movies, but not Best Picture worthy. I maintain that The Avengers was this year's true Best Picture.
anyone see Serenity yet?
The Firefly movie? Classic.
Who?
He was some guy from the Administration, I don't remember the character name. I was waiting for him to tell them that the night is dark and full of terrors.
maybe it was just my viewing conditions, with a glare or something, but was it really dark for you, i didnt know if they were just making it that way or if i just couldnt see anything because of my setup
I had to turn the lights off in the room and change my TV's brightness. Do you have a plasma? They're notoriously bad at differentiating between blacks, and that's what mine is at home.
Zero Dark Thirty was powerful, the final sequence in particular.
Totally knew that one guy in it was Stannis Baratheon.
What are you talking about?
I was surprised Argo was in the Redbox already, I thought it was delayed further.
my spelling is way off, im hungover or still drunk, one or the other
There's a movie clip for that:
Just picked up Zero Dark Thirty from the Redbox, I'll be watching that tonight and Argo later in the week. I had no idea they finally got that in the machine.
I went far over the Misty Mountains cold again. As a fan it's still an enjoyable movie to watch, but I can't believe they made three of these things.
The Two Towers is on TV right now. I just wanted to use this opportunity to point out that one of the best casting calls of all time was Ian McKellan as Gandalf. Perfect for the role, I don't think anyone could have played it better.
I didn't know Harrison Ford was in the Jackie Robinson movie.
I wanna see that Olympus Has Fallen movie with him and Gerard Butler. When I first saw the trailer, I thought it was GI Joe 2 only to find out it was a good movie with better actors in it.
I dunno, GI Joe 2 could be a lot better than GI Joe 1.
Didn't watch the movie, but my friend would get the reference.
Seven is a good movie, why didn't you watch it?

It can't be worse than Origins.
