  1. Same here. I saw it over Christmas break when it was in theaters and none of my friends did, so I had to convince them to go see it and experience the awesomeness of 3D. The movie itself was just average.
  2. You must not have seen The Avengers. I don't watch movies in 3D anymore, most are upconverted and add nothing to the movie. The only movie I felt was worth seeing in 3D was Avatar, and that's because James Cameron specifically designed the cameras and everything else about the movie to be 3D. If the technology was utilized correctly all the time, as it was in that movie, I might not consider it a waste of money. Regardless, movies are about story and should stand on their own. I checked out Silver Linings Playbook, I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars. Quite good, Jennifer Lawrence was excellent as she always is. I'd call her the best actress of her generation, but that's really an insult considering she's going against people like Kristen Stewart. On the movie, it was the best mental illness I've seen in a very very long time. If you're put off by the dance thing, that's actually a rather small part of the movies. It's more about this dude's relationships with people. And it was good to see Chris Tucker again.
  3. I'll post more on it later, but even without seeing anything else I'm confident in saying that Star Trek Into Darkness will be the best movie of the summer. It was incredible throughout, Benedict Cumberbatch was a revelation. It surpassed the first in the rebooted series in quality somehow while still maintaining respect for the original series/movies. Just a warning, do not read the reviews. The reviews are not bad, critics seem to be raving about it, but some idiot spoiled the actual identity of the villain for me. That didn't lessen the impact of the revelation or the quality of the movie for me, but I was a little upset about it.
  4. I wonder how big a role Spock Prime will play in Into Darkness. I just found out Leonard Nimoy was going to be in this movie as well, I thought he was done.
  5. Interesting shows for the fall: Almost Human - Karl Urban is the man. It's got some Fringe writers and some Lost producers, including Abrams. Crazy Ones - Robin Williams back on TV? Yes please. Marvel's Agents of SHIELD Yeah I'm not seeing a lot for next fall. So many derivative and cliched looking shows.
  6. I don't remember anything good being cancelled outside of Happy Endings, and that is supposedly being picked up by USA.
  7. Wow, just wow. I just watched Warrior and I can't find the words to describe just how amazing this movie is. It got overlooked because it came out around the time The Fighter did, but it is so much more. It's everything I wanted The Fighter to be. It's better than the original Rocky, this is one of my favorite movies of all time. Incredible movie, it had an emotionally stirring and relatable plot and the fight scenes were some of the best I've seen staged on film. If you haven't seen this movie yet, you need to. It's on Netflix streaming.
  8. It was enjoyable, but it could have been more.
  9. On the first watch yes, but I need to watch it again to rank it further in the hierarchy. I thoroughly enjoyed it, in the end that's all that matters.
  10. If that is the case, the general public is wrong.
  11. I see everything.
  12. I'm hoping next season involves her relationship developing over at least half of it. The last two seasons, at least, have been pretty bad and I've only been watching out of habit. They need something new to close it out.
  13. Just because it's a sequel or a franchise doesn't mean it's a bad movie. Oh I think we all are.
  14. Yes. I was hoping for someone more well known. The only thing she's really done was play Birbiglia's sister in Sleepwalk With Me.
  15. 2 Fast 2 Furious wasn't that bad. The order is 5, 4, 1, 2, 3. I'm disappointed they brought Letty back for 6.
  16. No, no it's not. I'm definitely going to see it, they're my favorite cheap thrill movies. And the Rock is pretty awesome.
  17. Lockout was as derivative as I expected. I didn't hate it, but I didn't like it either. At least it's a quick watch.
  18. No. Not much is really known about him, even in the comics, but I'm fairly certain he's not her brother.
  19. Literally two posts up dude. Worth the watch, it's pretty solid.
  20. Titus Young is just dumb. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9267427/ex-detroit-lions-receiver-titus-young-arrested-third-week
  21. I was ultimately disappointed with Looper too. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I felt like it wasted its setting. Jack Reacher was a surprisingly good movie. Nothing spectacular, but solid entertainment.
  22. Star Trek Into Darkness is already certified fresh and getting great reviews. I'm really excited, I like the reboot a lot.
  23. The one with Daniel Day-Lewis and Winona Ryder? Not bad, considering what it is.
  24. Movie Bob from The Escapist.
