Now I get Chicago and Houston, but the deal he signed with Cleveland wasn't much. It wasn't like he signed a 2 year $14M contract or some over paid contract to sign with Cleveland. 

 

He signed a 2 year $6M deal to catch passes from Manziel and turned down the opportunity to catch passes from Tom Brady? He's an idiot and apparently has no football IQ, because if he did he would have signed with the Patriots.

I've read this a few times and I was stuck on turned down until I found out he's from Cleveland but still. Did he give them the hometown discount?

The new changes and clarity on punishment for domestic violence are a good thing.  In reality they need to have a scale in place for all offenses, i.e., first DUI = x games suspended, second DUI = whatever, and so on.  Some rulings are not consistent.

 

Let's not kid ourselves; Rice got off easy.  He should have gotten 4+ games, 8 at the most, but he got just 2.  I know Rice is showing genuine remorse, and I know he won't do it again.  But the league cannot tolerate this.  The 6 game suspension for the first offense is a good start for the league.

 

I agree Ray did get off easy but that was the ruling Goodell had in place he could of made an example of Ray but he didn't make examples of anyone else so it falls right in line with the others. Totally agree on the rulings not be consistent it's just confusing that this person gets this and someone comes behind them and just get fined. It's crazy. Maybe while they're changing rules change the substance abuse rule as well.

I like the change but Goodell could have been had that rule set in place he was okay previously with 1-3 games and we as fans were okay with it as well. Had Ray not had this incident the rule for this would probably be the same.

Hopefully we won't have to hear this for the whole season it's getting old and I wish people would move on and stop comparing Ray to any other suspension that Goodell gives. I've never seen folks so vocal about a suspension before. Other players been suspended for the same without any flurry of opinions. What's so different now?
