"We like our guys", Anyone seen Tandon Doss or Deonte Thompson from the last time we "Liked our guys" at WR? Cut Webb/Pitta and get Alshon or Pryor, enough messing around with this terrible WR situation with no playmakers.

That is ridiculous, the guy has never even sniffed a 1000 yd season and has 4 TD's in his last combined 27 games. I get it, Woods is young, Rams have more cap than they know what to do with... but that is lucrative for a guy like Woods.
We have to be all over Barwin right? We just cut Doom and with the Jefferson signing we can cut Webb to create even more room today.
Incarcerated Bob reporting that Torrey to Ravens is a go. It's not Schefter or a true reputable source but this guy is pretty spot on and has broke some other deals early.
I actually think Torrey has made some strides as a player since he left. The stat sheet may not show it but he has certainly been getting better. I think he could have a big bounce back year, the transition should be seamless. Wonder what this means for Wallace, likely will be cut unless we try to kill teams with speed, I kinda like the Wallace/Torrey/Perriman/Moore combo.
Jefferson is a stud... Woodhead doesn't do much for me, could end up being a contributor though. My problem with it is we have 2 serviceable backs already, what we need is a workhorse. If we don't straighten out the OL it won't matter who the RB is though.
This Front Office has to be the most overrated in football, it's a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately league and frankly the results speak for themselves. It already feels like yet another season out of the playoffs. The talent just isn't there, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Our already anemic offense just lost 2 of the units best players.
This is just unacceptable to be floundering like this for 3 straight years. The league has changed and we haven't adapted, the same formula we've been relying on doesn't work anymore. Our lack of a single offensive playmaker is inexcusable. Our biggest rival has managed to get the best WR and RB in football and we don't have a top 10 player at either position. That is a damning reality about this front office.
Just now, Deflated Football said:The only good news of the day is that Kendrick and Shareece were cut. Can we please sign someone tomorrow?
Pryor + Calais Campbell, please!
Honestly feels like we're heading into a rebuilding year and we'll reload for a run in 2018
At this point we might have to just blow it up and look forward to 2018. We're looking at a sweet haul of comp picks next year, if we can do well in this draft, get rid of the bad contracts we have left (Webb + Pitta), develop our young talent this year (Dixon, Crockett, Maxx, Pierce, Davis, Correa, Kaufusi, Moore, Perriman + rookies), then reload in FA and draft well again next year.. I could see us having a really solid squad in 2018.
It sucks but this year is already looking like a wash, we're an 8-8 team who has just lost 3 pro bowl caliber players, you do the math.
I love Juice but he is not worth anywhere near that. He's a niche player at the end of the day. Maybe he's worth that to a team loaded with cap space like SF but with our limited cap you can't justify that type of contract to keep him

Agreed. Are they looking at the same roster we are? There is not a single playmaker on offense. Serviceable players but we don't have a #1 WR, or high end TE, or high end RB... nothing. Obviously you can't have all 3 of those but we don't even check 1/3 of those boxes. The Steelers have the best WR and RB in football, the Bengals have a true #1 WR and a high end TE. Guys like Wallace and West are serviceable starters but we probably have some of the worst complimentary pieces on offense in the entire NFL.
The front office has to make a drastic move to add a playmaker. It's just getting ridiculous at this point how long this offense has been floundering without a playmaker at WR or RB.
Go check out Terrelle Pryor's twitter. His header is the eye of a bird. Has to mean either us or Eagles is getting finalized.
Please just cut all the dead weight contracts... how many years now have we been getting weighed down by bad contracts. Next up is Webb and Pitta. Hopefully we're clearing for Pryor but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

Could we use Pitta to lure a decent pick or player? hmmmm
Doubt there's much of a trade market for Pitta. With 2 season ending hip injuries he's a major liability and teams know that. I would assume the return on him would be so low that we might as well just hold on to him and try to re-structure further.
Eli now has: Odell, Marshall, Sterling Shepard
Flacco no has: ........Mike Wallace and Perriman
Can this front office please step up to the dang plate and give Joe some legit weapons, we give Joe the huge contract and then turn around and give him nothing to work with. We're an 8-8 team that has so far gotten worse in FA, I'll be be patient... but man this isn't looking good. You have Harbs talking about competing for a Championship next year... I don't see it without a few significant additions in FA and a nice draft.
As much as I want to bash this front office for missing a huge opportunity by bringing in Marshall...It's very possible we reached out and he preferred to stay in NY. Marshall likes to be in the lime light and everything that goes along with NY off the field, disappointing but not surprising.

I would rather have Marshall. Flacco has never played with a real #1 WR, that prototype 6'4 ball winner type of WR. I think because of how Joe plays he would thrive with a guy like that at his disposal. I would be happy with Garcon or Pryor... but ideally I think Marshall makes the most sense. I think because of his age and below par season in 2016 you're getting a hell of a bang for your buck with Marshall. The Jets didn't put him in position to play to his potential, he can do that here.

"Source close to @TerrellePryor says @Browns aren't serious enough. Has interest from teams in div, including ravens, who are very interested"
Interesting as this article from earlier today names the Steelers as being in on him and not us
I would love to have Torrey back but personnel wise it doesn't make much sense, he won't be cheap and Mike Wallace has basically the same skill set.
Wagner potentially leaving is a big loss and a big hole to fill. Would love to go into the draft without a gaping hole on the roster. With that said let Brandon Williams walk if he's getting the brinks truck backed up for him somewhere, I think Pierce is the real deal. We could certainly use that money better by bringing in a guy like Brandon Marshall. Flacco has never had a true prototype #1 WR. We need to realize Joe's limitations, he's a good QB, but he's not Brady or Rodgers who can sling the ball no matter who is at WR. Flacco needs some help, he needs a big frame guy who can make grabs without a ton of separation. Now that SSS we need a ball winner WR more than ever.
Just make sure we get Wagner back, can't keep rebuilding the OL year after year, we need some continuity there. I love Brandon Williams but we have Pierce who is only going to get better. I would rather spend that money at other positions.
19 minutes ago, hn68wb4 said:As much as it hurts, I think we might have to come to terms with Wagner not being a Ravens come next year. From the sound of things there's a LOT of interest in him and I think it's a virtual guarantee that he'll be pushed over what we're willing to pay. We might be facing a similar offseason to last years. Losing our top guys but signing a couple good vets, it feels contrary to what we've always seen as Raven fans.
I think so too. Good chance we lose Wagner to an absurd offer from a team loaded with cap space but we make up for it by making a few nifty signings with the money we saved. Hopefully Brandon Marshall. We do draft OL after the 1st round pretty well, Alex Lewis, Wagner, Osemele all come to mind.
Brandon Marshall is the #1 WR Flacco is built to play with. Big frame guy who can go up and get it in traffic. That would be a dynamite addition,
With that said I really don't see it happening, I think we're in for a very anticlimactic FA period. But let me just fantasize for a moment.... sign Marshall and trade up for Dalvin Cook. Could you imagine....

I'll take either Pryor or Alshon. We just need a bread winner on that side of the ball period. Our offense was pretty awful last year and that was with SSS, Wagner, Juice... All the help we need isn't coming the draft, moves need to be made.
