  1. Am I a bad fan for hoping we bomb the rest of the season at this point? We need a big draft this year, we won't have much to spend on FA's so I'd rather we be a better team long term than win meaningless games this year, Bosa or Ramsey are game changers with tiny cap hits, Ozzie could even trade and get multiple 1st rounders

Hoping you lose games is different than hoping for injuries, we can win out and still have serious injuries. In concept I hope we win out but at some point you have to be realistic, there's too much wrong with this team, they aren't going to make the playoffs so a good draft position can make the upcoming years far more enjoyable and successful. Suffer short term for the long term.

  2. Drafting Tray Walker and Z'Darius Smith over Stefon Diggs who we had the privilege of scouting extensively in our own backyard *claps* well done front office

Geography does matter when it comes to mid/late round drafting. We likely had a local scout at every single UMD home game and other teams might send a national scout for maybe 1 or 2 UMD games the whole year. We had a more extensive look at Diggs than basically every other team and still passed him up with 3 picks at the end of the 4th, a luxury many teams that had their eye on him didn't have.

Watch us win a bunch of games at the end of the year when it doesn't matter and end up out of the top 10

That's my point lol.. our board was incorrect and we passed up a player we should've been all over and reached on a project DB who could've been had later in the draft. It's this simple, if you tell Ozzie right now he can have Walker or Diggs knowing what he knows know he's taking Diggs 100%, no question about it.

It's one thing to pass on just any stud player but it's another thing when the stud player played his college ball in your backyard and you had the biggest advantage out of anyone in the league to scout him thoroughly. It's not like we had our eye on him and he got snatched up before our pick, we had 3 picks at the tail end of the 4th round and I find it very hard to believe that Tray Walker was the better pick now or in hindsight.

I'm not so much mad at ZDS over Diggs.. but Walker over Diggs is one we will be talking about for some time around here. Especially being a UMD kid.

Diggs went in the 5th, we had 3 picks to end the 4th and passed up on him, kid is lighting it up already :(

  9. i wouldn't mind a low draft pick...with the pick we should get either Ziggy, Jared Goff, or Vernon Hargreaves

Why would we pick a QB if we're in the top 10? huhhh

  10. Marc Trestman... please go back to the CFL. Oh take Pees with you too. Finally, Irsay just go ahead and fire Pagano now so he can be on the next flight back to Baltimore. Thanks.

      sflegend89

I give Trestman a pass until Breshad comes back, he's working with a terrible WR core which a lot of his concepts thrive on WR's who can win 1 on 1

  11. At onne time he was a stud, and to no fault of his own he got taken out by injuries. But Webb is done. He probably couldn't cover his mouth when he sneezes

  12. 3rd round pick for Alshon with the conditions that we work out a long term deal with his agent before the trade goes through. Yeah our main problem is on defense but it's more so about continuity, chemistry, and lack of a pass rush. No SSS next year and Perriman is still an unknown it actually makes sense on our end, just depends how much Chicago wants and if Alshon would sign an immediate extension, probably won't happen for one of those reasons

    1. sflegend89

      sflegend89

I agree, it's a big commitment and certainly a deal that would take at least a week to materialize because it's not just a trade but also a contract negotiation. I think Chicago will hold onto Forte and Alshon unless a team knocks their socks off. It would likely take a pair of 2nd round picks or something in that neighborhood now that I'v put more thought into it.

It certainly isn't likely but this is also an unprecedented situation for this franchise at 0-3, especially in the Harbaugh era. Then you consider as of right now Aiken is our #2 WR going into next year. Acquiring Alshon wouldn't just be about this year but also the future of the offense. We have been looking for that prototype WR for a decade now

It's the last year of his rookie deal, they're all out rebuilding this year and there is no guarantee he will even re-sign there with the state of the franchise. The Bears would be picking up a 3rd round pick instead of missing the playoffs this year anyway and then having Alshon walk in FA and they end up with nothing besides a comp pick that they won't even see until 2017 draft. Trading players in the last year of their deal makes sense if you don't like odds of retaining in FA

  16. How are the Pats (or ANY team) cheaters when the NFL allows teams to get away with buffoon tactics without damaging consequences?

  17. If it makes you feel better, go to the Colts forums. There's a thread on who should replace Pagano, Andrew Luck being overrated, someone making a schedule conspiracy thread, etc. You think it be the end of the world reading their forums.

  18. Just over checking out the Browns forum and wow, they are treating the Jets as a gimme game and thats a big mistake. Jets aren't great but they have 2 legit receivers, a competent oline, a somewhat competent QB in Fitz (something the browns can't say they have) and a very good defense with the old CB duo being reunited. They could easily lose tomorrow

  19. So is Perriman playing week 1 or not?

  20. Man i like this guy Charles James II

  21. Jeremy Ross was cut from Lions. Pretty good return specialist, I wouldn't mind having us add him seeing as we are missing a true guy to bring back kicks.

  22. So...do you think Schaub will get 90 mins in the 4th game or split with Renner? I hope they at least split time but I sure Schaub will get the game which is unfortunate because I think Renner does have some talent. Can he survive a season on the PS?

  23. After last years db fate, would it be a bad idea to put Cortland Finnegan on a 1 contract since he is coming out of retirement?

    1. sflegend89

      sflegend89

You have to think he wants to catch on with a team that will compete. I obviously wouldn't pay him starter money but if he wants to be part of a great defense on a team friendly deal and be our #3/4 I would strongly consider it. Obviously it would be best to bring him in for a workout and see what kind of shape he's in and how he's moving

He's only 31. I think he's worth a 1 year contract pickup. We just have such bad problems brewing at CB with Webb it's not a bad preemptive move.
