  1. The Patriots attempt at a defense is just making them look even worse. McNally called the deflator because he was trying to lose weight? LOL. I'm done, how stupid do they think people are. This is what their "Dream Team" of lawyers came up with? Lawyer 1: How about we say he was called the deflator because he sat on a volleyball one time and it deflated Lawyer 2: Hmm, how about we say he accidentally poked a hole in a raft on a fishing trip and it deflated Lawyer 3: No, no, I got it.... we say he was called the deflator... because he was trying to lose weight! Robert Kraft: GENIUS! This is why we pay you guys the big bucks!
  2. Honestly could care less who get's ranked higher than who.. to me it's just for fun and cool to hear players talk candidly about our guys. There is no rhyme or reason to the rankings, just take it for what it is, a cool behind the scenes type look at the hottest names from the previous year.
  3. It's just Belichick's M.O. Arrington was owed $4.5M in 2015 and it was a combination of BB not valuing him at that amount and wanting to open up more playing opportunities for their young corners to get them ready to be starters long term. I mean we got him on the open market for $2.5M a year so that does corroborate BB feeling he had cheaper alternatives who just needed an opportunity to play and develop. Ozzie actually has made similar moves like trading Boldin and Ngata, didn't mean they both couldn't still play at a high level, we just felt like we had cheaper alternatives who needed an opportunity so they could help us in the long term and save some money in the process. Luckily our players had a trade market for how much we owed them and the Pats couldn't move Arrington on his current contract (Which makes sense because he went for significantly less on the open market). The Pats wouldn't have saved nearly as much if they re-structured him and it also wouldn't allow them to give their young corners more game reps. It makes sense from NE's point of view but it's also a great addition for our defense.
  4. Arrington's ball skills are definitely on point. If you give him the opportunity he is going to come away with a pick. That's maybe the only weakness Jimmy has in his entire game, he has dropped some gimme picks but I can accept that because he's such a dominant man to man cover guy and one of the best tackling CB's in football. Arrington is yet another good run support/tackling CB to compliment Jimmy but his ball skills add a new dimension to our secondary that we haven't had since Webb was healthy and to an extent with Corey Graham. When you look at what we accomplished last year with an abysmal CB situation you can't help but get excited about the upcoming season. No more Chykie and Franks starting, man was that brutal to watch.
  5. I thought the same thing as well. During FA frenzy he probably goes in the 3 year, $12M range to a team with a lot of cap room. The Brown, Jags, Jets, ect. but at this point those team have already filled their holes at corner and paid market value for their guys. We likely got Arrington for around half of his market value if he was an UFA to begin with.
  6. When you look at the going price for corner in today's market that's a steal for a high quality nickel corner. Arrington actually ranked ahead of Browner last year according to advanced metrics and was 2nd on the Pats to only Revis. This is why Ozzie doesn't panic and get into bidding wars when FA starts. We all threw a fit because we wouldn't pay market value for Culliver, Cox, Browner, ect. This is why we say "In Ozzie we trust". Why would you pay super inflated prices during the FA frenzy when you can make value signings like this and save the team a lot of money. This is exactly what separates Ozzie from other GM's Culliver - 4 year, $32M Cox - 3 year, $15M House - 4 year, $25M Skrine - 4 year, $25M Arrington might not be quite as versatile as those guys but when you look at value for money... WOW
  7. Certainly not a glaring one like we had pre-draft. I mean you could nitpick in a few areas but as far as I'm concerned there isn't a single area of weakness. WR: check CB: check TE: check Back up QB: check DL depth: check It really is amazing how we shored up all those areas of weakness that we had just a few months ago
  8. Jimmy and Webb on the outside, Arrington in the slot, Will Hill and Kendrick Lewis on the back end... Not to mention our front 7. This defense is down right scary.
  9. Checked to see what Pats fans had to say about us signing him. I expected a lot of "we didn't need him anyway".. Pleasantly surprised to see they are legitimately sad to see him go and especially that we were the one's who signed him. A lot of praise for him in the slot/nickel corner role.
  10. YES!!!! This roster is shaping up really nicely. Couldn't be more excited about how we have addressed the pre-draft areas of weakness. I wanted a potential #1 WR, we got one. Wanted a quality pass catching TE, we got one (possibly 2). I wanted another quality corner, we got one. Phenomenal job Ozzie.
  11. The idea that Ozzie "loved" Elam is an exaggeration. It was a lackluster draft class overall that year and everyone knew that going in. We were picking at 32, Elam was a glorified early 2nd round pick in what we knew was a bad class. Of course Ozzie talked highly of him, he was our top pick. What is he supposed to say "We didn't have a trade partner to move back and we had to make a pick". I do think Ozzie & co. expected more out of Elam than we've received thus far but I don't for a second think Ozzie "loved" anyone available that late in such a weak class. I don't think it compares to Perriman at all, this was a good draft class, we had a better pick, and it didn't feel like "Well, we have to make a pick, let's take whoever's left that we have rated the highest". It felt like we were sweating out Perriman even making it to us from the time the Texans were on the clock at 16 overall. It sounded to me like we were going to be thrilled if Peters, Perriman, or Dupree even made it to 26.
  12. Yup it's definitely a Patriots fan running that site. The Top 10 "cheaters" include: Broncos - Rival, Peyton's team Steelers - Rival Jets - Rival Colts - Rival, exposed DeflateGate Giants - Beat them in 2 SB's Ravens - Rival
  13. I heard next Patriots fans are going to start a Go Fund Me to help Bill Gates pay for a parking ticket
  14. Camp reminds me of a young Amendola. Promising slot WR with playmaking ability but the question has always been if he can stay healthy.
  15. 39 inch vertical isn't good enough for you? That's higher than Odell Beckham LOL
  16. The two retirees combining for an awesome play
  17. Pats fan friend of mine sent me the "your team cheats" website and I swear I laughed so hard I almost spit out my beverage. They claim that Joe Flacco saying totally tongue-in-cheek to tackle Ted Ginn from the sideline on the last play of the SB was a cheating scandal. I can't even.. I thought it was a parody website or something, but sure enough it was dead serious, it actually states the exact rule and everything lol. Here's a funny one from the Colts. SuckForLuckGate. They claim that 53 players knowingly played poorly in a dangerous sport like football and hurt their careers in the process for a team they had no guaranteed long term future with so they could get Andrew Luck. The serious manner that they present these phony cheating scandals is nothing short of comedic gold. What's next? The cheating scandal of a player saying to "kick his (behind)"... rule 35 section B, sup-paragraph 4 clearly states that the striking of the foot to another players behind is illegal. That's the level some of their "scandals" are on.
  18. Jones has potential and could be a good corner in this league.. but like I said he's more of a FS that they stuck at corner. Turn on tape of Morris Claiborne at LSU, he dominated way more than Byron Jones against better competition in the SEC, consensus top 10 pick, you watch him in college and think "This kid is a stud".. total flop in Dallas. Just the nature of the position, Byron Jones reminds me a lot of Justin Gilbert who has the size and combine numbers as well, great athlete, he really struggled his rookie season and he was a top 10 pick and was regarded as a much better prospect. It's not like we didn't take Jones because we wanted a WR more, we basically said if Marcus Peters was there he would've been the pick even over BP. I agree with our scouting assessment, Peters and Kevin Johnson were the two corners worth taking at 26 (besides Waynes but he was long gone). The Steelers desperately needed a corner and they passed on Jones, Panthers desperately needed a corner and passed on him, we are pretty dang good at drafting corners early and we passed on him, I see him as one of the biggest risks in the 1st round and Dallas has a knack for trying to make sexy picks, plus they are frustrated with Claiborne and were specifically going after a corner. Again, I think Byron Jones does have potential.. not surprised at all that we didn't draft him though. He's not on the same level as Peters or Johnson.
  19. ...Because if the ball is too under inflated the QB can really "dig" into the ball and get a better grip, RB's can also "dig" into the ball and secure it better, the odds of a fumble are lower for both RB's and WR's the less inflated the ball is. A fully inflated ball can pop out easier with defenders punching/clawing at it. The rule is in place to guarantee a level playing field and that neither team will have an unfair advantage in any of the areas I mentioned. The same thing applies to PSI in a basketball, soccer ball, ect. there is pressure range that has been mandated for fair play and altering the ball to a different PSI changes the dynamics from how the game was intended to be played and has been played for decades. The Tuck Rule was a "dumb rule", having the ball at a certain PSI range is one of the essential rules how the game is played. Look at the texts from the Pats equipment staffers, if it didn't give them an advantage why would they deliberately do it?
  20. "Ignorance is not an excuse"
  21. I agree, they lost a 1st round pick over SpyGate and clearly learned nothing. NFL should've gave them the metaphorical death penalty, Brady suspended whole season, Belicheat suspended whole season, lose 1st round picks in 2016 AND 2017. What was the NFL's reasoning for suspending Payton for a year "Ignorance is not an excuse".. how does that not apply to Belicheat? The double standard is unreal.
  22. Pats will find a way to be competitive, not worried about Cincy as long as Dalton is under center.. unless their defense plays like the 2000 Ravens then Dalton is never going to win anything (which they won't).
  23. I do wish there was more of a cumulative punishment, if this was a first time offense the punishment was fair, but this is their second MAJOR violation of the rules in such a short span of time. Belichick is an habitual cheater, they've been doing this sort of stuff for years. They should have to surrender that SB win, in what sport can you get caught cheating red handed and still keep the accomplishments you achieved by way of said cheating. If they are allowed to claim that SB victory officially the integrity of the game means nothing.
  24. Brady suspension was nice... but losing that 1st round pick
