  1. What's Bam Morris up to these days? We could use another RB. Surely, he's still got some tread left on his tires.
  2. Make of this what you will: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/01/27/baffoe-hey-baltimore-were-trying-to-warn-you-about-marc-trestman/ http://www.reddit.com/r/CHIBears/comments/2odbig/screen_pass_insanity/ And for a counterpoint, that also goes in-depth into some of the plays he ran in the CFL: http://www.windycitygridiron.com/2013/1/16/3885086/bears-playbook-marc-trestmans-passing-west-coast-offense
  3. Wait, Rashaan got hurt too? Man, our secondary was snake bitten last year. And the year before it was the WRs. We'd have beaten the Pats if we could have kept half those guys healthy.
  4. Never wanted Crabtree, feel he's going the way of Hakeem Nicks, with injuries robbing him of his ability. Wouldn't mind Jennings if he comes at the right price, as I feel he has something left in the tank, be nice to have that Mason style of veteran WR again. Think he and Joe would develop a rapid rapport.
  5. Reid was OK at guard in 2012, better than Bobbie Williams anyway. Given his height, maybe he's better at RT because tall guys generally have trouble playing the interior of the O-line, because pass rushers are able to get underneath their pads. Osemele is an exception, playing as well as he does being as tall as he is. Question with Reid has always been "can he ever stay healthy?" (Answer, so far: NO) That's why I expect us to bring in another backup at tackle either as a vet minimum FA or mid-late round draft pick.
  6. At the Combine he weighed in at 241 pounds: http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/pyrnotes.php?pyid=82068&draftyear=2013&genpos=ILB Google, among others, have him at 242 pounds. Maybe he couldn't maintain that much weight and dropped back down into the 230's?
  7. Article in the Globe where the "reporter" spins this scandal with the ridiculous premise that this mess is actually really truly, genuinely, sincerely John Harbaugh's fault. https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2015/01/24/ravens-coach-john-harbaugh-sounds-like-man-pleading-for-forgiveness-over-deflategate/nomWQem0ynWFfq4RG27QHP/story.html Talk about chutzpah... So, now it's the Ravens and Colts who are doing the scheming. 'Cuz see, snitches be getting them stitches, yo. So, apparently Aaron Hernandez never was recently drafted or played for Belichick. Or if he was, he was never arrested and charged with multiple felonies including a few gangsta style murders. At least not according to the newly revised "True History of The League, Patriots Edition, vol. X" (co-authored by the Boston Globe). Because Billy and Tommy had noooooothing to do with any tainting, you see. Nope, it was those mean old nasty big bully Ravens who done it. Surprised they didn't try to blame Ray Lewis too. Oh wait...that'll be the premise of the follow-up article.
  8. Cheat.
  9. There aren't any Jeff Hostetler's among veteran backup QBs available, a guy who can step in and win a Super Bowl for you. So, if Joe can't go for a few weeks, then we're running the ball a lot until he returns.
  10. Not exactly a ringing endorsement from the G.O.A.T. Though this was nearly 20 years ago, so maybe Trestman's learned from this. And Trestman has gone on record that we will be running Kubiak's scheme, which he will learn so he can call plays from it. If he can manage to do that, then the transition from Kubiak to Trestman should be relatively seamless (and painless) and the offense should once again be in the top 10 or better.
  11. Yeah, good point. Then I have no idea who we can get for QB coach who could step in at OC if Gase leaves or is fired. Well, this is fine mess the Ravens have on their hands. Thanks Peyton for choking again, you're the reason Fox got fired which set these wheels in motion (with an assist from Torrey misplaying the game clinching INT).
  12. An old Ed Reed with a bad shoulder, ramming and diving at guys with his one good arm was a better tackler than Elam has been.
  13. Gase for OC. Trestman for QB coach, who can step in as OC if Gase leaves for a HC job (or if Gase is fired because he sucks). I have no idea for TE coach.
  14. All he brings is size and strength. Essentially a goal line/short yardage back. One who seems a bit soft/fragile. We already have that guy in Taliaferro, who's actually better than Richardson.
  15. He needs to forget about selling shoes this off season and spend a few hours each day with a tackling dummy, practicing using proper form when tackling. Right now, he's not running straight through the ball carrier and wrapping up, he's either stopping and lunging or he's waiting for the guy to come to him and lunging. Then, in part because he's short, he usually misses. Taking bad angles hasn't helped either. Just how bad were the safeties in that draft that Elam was regarded by Ozzie as "the better tackler" ?!
  16. They do. But Melvin, a UDFA, has shown in his first game, both in the NFL and with the Ravens, better coverage and tackling skills and that he's more of a natural playmaker than Elam, our 1st round (barely) draft pick, has in 2 seasons as a starter,.
  17. He's already better than Elam.
  18. From the article: "The only question mark with Mosley is his health. Mosley had a number of injuries at Alabama, reportedly including dislocations of his elbow (freshman year) and hip (sophomore year), a knee injury and others." My opinion: That's a huge question mark. Generally a guy who is injury prone in college when he's still in his late teens/early twenties is more likely to get hurt playing against bigger, stronger, faster players in the NFL, especially as he ages. Really hoping this doesn't turn out to be another 'Bama bust by Ozzie (like Cody & Upshaw).
  19. It's concerning though how dramatically his play dropped off in the second half last year, given his age. Did he get hurt again, did teams adjust or has he hit the wall?
  20. Since we're now going WCO, I want a Jordan Matthews type of WR, preferably Jordan Matthews himself.
  21. It's also about having another OC-in-waiting who knows Kubiak's system if/when Kubiak leaves for a HC position. Dennison's hiring is as much about the future as it is about what the team needs now. Overall, I'm pleased with both hirings, mainly because they're both proven and neither uses the Air Coryell.
  22. We're not getting Norv, so it's either Kubiak, Shanahan, or Hostler (or mystery candidate???) Between the 3, I guess I want Shanahan--as long as he isn't the whiny spoiled punk that allegedly alienated half the players and coaches on the Redskins this year.
  23. Ken Whisenhunt Joe Lombardi Rob Chudzinski No to Kubiak and Turner--too similar to Cam and we need to move away from that. Though between those 2, I prefer Turner. Not sure about Kyle Shanahan, seems like a bit of a wild card. but I'd like to see some innovation and I believe he would bring that. But I think Harbs prefers older, more established coaches (guys who are "lifers"). If Hue Jackson wasn't such a d-bag (reportedly) then I think he'd make a fine choice.
