It's hard to have faith in this coaching staff when it comes to evaluating unproven WRs, when they keep getting it wrong. Daniel Brown should have been on the 53 instead of Marlon from the beginning. And Butler should have been promoted from the PS after Campanaro was IR'd. If there is a silver lining to this wretched, horrid season, it's that we're getting to see what the young offensive backups can do: Boyle at TE, Butler and D. Brown at WR, Williams and West at RB, Urschel and Jensen (possibly Wesley too because Hurst is simply the worst) at OL. At least there seems to be hope that next year we will have quality depth on offense. Just need to keep the starters healthy somehow. (edit: scratch Boyle from that list *sigh*)

Losing Crockett to a back injury wasn't good. Might have been the difference in this game, as he is one of our best weapons.

We might have one or two more wins if we'd started Butler over Brown. At least Butler has to be accounted for as he can get open against #3 CBs. All Brown can do is block (which he does very well).

I don't know what to make of this season. I don't know what to make of this team. It's been so bizarre, almost surreal, like a dream (or nightmare). We are now the first team in NFL history to have our first 11 games in a season decided by 8 points or less. Make of that what you will.

This team could not be more inexplicable, LOL

Joe's had 2 seasons where his offensive supporting cast has been decimated by injury: losing most of his WRs, TEs, RBs & OL. In both of those seasons, Joe has also gotten seriously injured. This is not a coincidence. When your pass protection and pass catchers are both bad, your QB is going to take more punishment. And with each hit, there's a chance that one could end his season. For Joe to have stayed in the game with his knee all torn up, amazing. No question he is one of the toughest QBs in the league, up there with Rivers, Eli, Newton, Luck, & Ben. Shame he doesn't get the same recognition as those guys from the national sports media.

Dark era, no. Dark transition, yes. We've got too many injury prone players who we've committed too much of our cap and roster to. And we've had too many weak drafts & FA signings at certain positions that have left us too thin at those positions. We don't need to purge, but we do need to prune. Or we will waste Joe's prime like we essentially wasted Ray and Ed's.

He did play quite a bit at corner in college. But you're right, he needs to be given one role only so he can focus on that one role only.

Oher was a penalty magnet who struggled against speed rushers and blocking in space. On a team running the AC that often faced 3rd and longs (obvious passing downs) with an OC who was notorious for not making obvious adjustments. And our guards were decent with Grubbs and Yanda, but Grubbs was hurt for most of 2011, and Yanda got hurt near the end (had secret surgery, remember?). And in 2012 and 2013, there was a revolving door (in every sense) at LG with Bobbie Williams, Jah Reid, Ramone Harewood, Kelechi Osemele (who was good but played sparingly) and AQ Shipley. So, no our O-line was not decent or even good from 2011 through 2013. They were good from 2008-2010, and again last year, arguably their best season. But this year is shaping up to be another down year for them. Which would make 4 good seasons and 4 bad ones. 50/50.

Any O-line wth Oher, especially at LT, and a revolving door at LG, is not decent (2011-2013) And 2013 was historically brutal. And this year our tackles have been rated amongst the worst in the league. He's had good O-lines here and there, with 2014, and 2012 playoffs being the best ones. But throughout his career so far, overall it's been about 50/50.

Ravens drafted 3 tight ends after his 2nd hip fracture. Shows how they'd already decided to move on. Only kept him this long because of his cap hit. That and what he means to the fans, team and Joe. So, they wanted to still give him a chance, but they knew.

Emergency depth with potential future upside. And at no real cost or risk.

All that matters is where we rank at the end of the season. In the standings. This kind of list is just to attract page clicks.

Remember that Maxx suffered a leg injury in preseason. Trying to fight for a first down no less. And I believe he either aggravated it or suffered another leg injury a few weeks back (which is a bit concerning, that he's so young but already getting nicked up) In any case, that would explain why he looks slow and hasn't played much. Also, by his own admission, he knows he needs to improve his strength and thus his blocking. So, between being hurt and not being as ready, he's behind both Gillmore and Boyle (who looks to be a 5th round steal).

Ravens are an enigma. Especially now with all these new faces. Who knows if the new WRs just suddenly click with Joe? Or if our secondary and pass rush finally get their act together. Maybe the o-line will improve which will benefit both the pass and the run. It could all come together. It could all fall apart. It could remain more or less how it's been. Only thing I do know is that this team will not be what it started out as, even if th end results remain the same (close losses). But who's to say how we'll finish. With so much roster turnover and adjustments as a result, it's almost as if after the bye, we'll be starting a new season. With a new team.

Signing 2 guys is also a clear sign that Perriman is not close to returning to action. So, why they just don't IR the guy already...smh. They did the same thing in 2013 with Jensen even though we really needed every roster spot because of all the injuries that year. You'd think they'd learn from that mistake as it was just 2 years ago...smh again. Btw, they cut the TE Reuland from the PS, yet again, to make room for Jacobs. Guess he's this seasons PS version of Bajema. From Wikipedia, note they still haven't updated his entry that he was released today: "Reuland was signed onto the Baltimore Ravens practice squad on November 12, 2014. On September 5, 2015, he was released by the Ravens.[5] On September 6, 2015, he was signed to the Ravens' practice squad.[6] On September 8, 2015, Reuland's practice squad contract was terminated by the Ravens.[7] On October 13, 2015, the Ravens re-signed Reuland to the practice squad.[8]"

Not if injuries keep him off the field constantly. Even if he still has the talent it hardly matters if he hardly plays.

This isn't 2012. Givens and Ross have enough speed to stretch defenses, and Ross is a decent returner, so there really isn't a spot for Jacoby who's clearly lost a step anyway.. And I'd rather see what Daniel Brown can do, especially in the red zone. I bet he'd also make a decent gunner to replace Waller.

He's constantly nicked up. As he's now 30, and has taken a lot of abuse (reminiscent of Todd Heap) it's reasonable to expect that if he isn't already in decline, he soon will be. And that he'll miss more games in the future as those injuries start to add up and his body starts to break down. By contrast, neither Fitz nor SSS had that sort of injury history, so they're not a proper comparison. Receivers like Miles Austin or Roddy White would be better examples.

If he was still young enough, then hell yes. But now at 40, sorry, he just can't do it anymore. And we're going to have to face the same reality with Suggs fairly soon, even if he doesn't retire or move on to a new team.
