  1. Thing to watch for me is DLine. Who steps up as another run stuffer now that Ngata is gone? Jernigan is like a baby Sapp. Seems to more penetration than eat up blockers. Walker is a big guy but Cody showed me weight doesn't make you a run stuffer. Usually Ravens keep 7. A tough choice given the talent. Also, every season Ravens seem to have a guy that steps up either preseason or during the season out of no where.
  2. I think the Ravens secondary could be better if they moved Webb to FS. It would keep him healthier playing center field and it's a position he played before. Brooks/Hill to compete at SS cause both have range and are big hitters. Put Asa in the slot and let our bigger CB press outside. If our pass rush is at least as good as it was last year, Ravens could have a great secondary.
  3. Ravens are going to keep Pitta, Gilmore, Boyle, and Williams even if it mean 4 TEs on the roster. Last year they started the season with 7 WRs and during the season 6 safeties. Ravens keep the best 53 period. I expect that Pitta may start on the PUP list. The key will be can Boyle be a back up FB or make contributions on Special Teams. You don't want to keep a guy around that is inactive on game day.
  4. Good to hear WRs performing. Hopefully everyone stays healthy so we can see these guys work together and grow during the season.
  5. First I would like the offense to continue the best part from last season (Strong offensive line play, less ints 12 or fewer, strong run game). The areas where the offense needs improvement was TDs in the redzone, 3rd and short, and most important starting fast. The most import factors are learning the playbook, chemistry , and health.
  6. Thanks JJ! Love the Hit of Hines
  7. I expect Ravens to add a CB after cuts to ensure they have experience depth behind the starters Webb, Smith, Asa. Just looked at the roster and the CB/DB position is fulled with 6'2" guys. Both lines look big and athletics. Depth at skill positions including QB. We look better at safety with Hill, Lewis , Brooks, Hopefully Elam steps up. Well done job in the offseason so far. If we can remain healthy, look out. Browns have QB issues, Steelers offense is potent but defense is retooling, Bengals we have beat them for 3 quarters then lose because of pass defense, but had injuries to CBs each time we faced them. I like Ravens chances.
  8. Would not be surprised if Nick Perry made the final 53 roster. Hope he's around long enough to compete. Also Carter may have return skills so if at leas ta practice squad guy.
  9. I know Pryor and Ha Ha are on defense. don't be ridiculous. comprehend the point
  10. Just disappointed Ravens couldn't find reason to get a highly scouted offensive playmaker. That being said they did stick to their "identity" It's defense first no matter what you pay the QB. Long term this defense could be monstrous. Short term, offense will be pedestrian at times. If they can add a playmaker on offense in round 4-6, draft could be very solid. My disappointment can't stand up to OZ track record.
  11. Yet another year of stacking the offense with retreads and 30 yr olds. Another year of inconsistent offense, saying the defense could be better if the offense could sustain drives, seeing Joe asking why Joe can't throw for 4,000 yards. You invest $120M on the QB but pass on guys that could have helped. Passed on Jace Amaro, Proyor, Clinton-Dix, Latimer for an undersized DT which injury concerns? Even if drafting offense at #48 would be a little bit of reach, it is an investment at position of need and supporting your $120M investment. Local media and loyalist will somehow justify it. I will be interest to see the draft grade national media give Ravens. I hope am worng, but it looks like a blown opportunity to add to the offense in the deepest draft in years.
  12. In years past the Ravens could get away with adding undrafted free agents and mid round picks. That was because you could put anybody next to a healthy Ed Reed and they look like a good safety or have Lewis coaching guys up. Ravens will regret passing on FS regardless of how good Mosley is. Also, quietly Joe is disappointed. The guys still on the board are there for a reason. They are long shots
  13. Weren't most of these guys on the team when they couldn't get a first down for 3 quarters. Wasn't going the veteran route with Stokely and Clark was supposed to be contributors. Ravens offense needed help. And Yes there are rookies who are better than these guys today. This isn't 2003 Steve Smith. Those days are gone.
  14. Right now on paper the Ravens look well behind Browns and Bengals in Talent. That is undeniable. If Manziel can add anything, Ravens are the 3rd most talented team in AFC North. Who was the last Pro bowl player the Ravens drafted in the 1st round? Ngata in 2006. That's 8 years Ravens fans. Passed on FS Ha Ha and Pryor while adding nothing in free agency. Team will trhow deep on Ravens early and often. Offense couldn't run, block, or get open and you draft a DT in the 2nd round. I love the Ravens, but call it like I see it. Missed opportunity.
  15. This pick is a complete head scratcher. Even analyst don't like the pick. Other areas of need like RT, Wr, TE. They pass on Wrs for a guy that won't start ahead of guys on the team. Owen Daniel 30 yrs old, Smith 35 years old, Jones not a good receiver. Can't believe the guys they passed on. Now all the quality Wr are gone followed by RBs before they pick again. SMH
  16. There are 3 phases in football offense , defense, and special teams. Most would say to win on Sunday you need to be better than the other team in 2 of the 3 areas. Having Tucker and Jones gives the Ravens an opportunity to win on Special teams by being in position to score. I like the move since 4.5 guaranteed over 4 years is not bad if it helps win on Sunday which JJ has done for the Ravens on many occasions.
  17. Ravens are just a solid organization. Fill a major hole at LT and keep a strength in your return game for the right price. They do need to get an answer at center. Maybe not Mack if the price isn't right but a solid veteran. Meanwhile Broncos and Patriots are in panic mode. Broncos may have been the Super bowl favorite without breaking the bank. All chips are in. Now they have all the pressure in the world to win or rebuild. Patriots another perennial Super bowl favorite gave Revis $12 million for 1 year. They could have kept Talib and saved money for giving Brady weapons. Glad to be a Ravens fan.
  18. My guess s Shanahan OC, Hostler QB Coach/Assist OC
  19. Marlon only dropped due to injury.
  20. I can't speak for other, but my concerns are the poor route running and inconsistent hands of many of the Ravens receivers. Torrey was project 1st or 2nd round and Marlon Brown was rate 2nd or 3rd round so to me they had talent. The other receiver historically never developed. So why promote a guy that was not that good as a position coach? Secondly, I prefer someone outside to bring creativity to the offense. If he had ideas, he has been keeping them to himself.
  21. The thing thats wrong with the Ravens are mental toughness and youth
