  1. I think he hurt his back while blocking Suh in the Miami game. Trestman schemes makes no sense. Hopefully it's not a lingering issue.
  2. Yet another moronic call by the coaches. They keep saying it's the players, but 4th and 9 fake punt in the first half on your side of the field only down by 7 is just stupid.
  3. Ravens might as well put Walker and Z. Smith on the field. Every WR is abusing Smith and Webb. Put Webb at safety to see if he can perform there. If not, then they can have a clear decision to let him go.
  4. I don't like Pees bend but don't break style, but I don't think he has the talent he needs on the defense. missed tackles, dropped picks, inability to cover , lack of pass rush has do with lack of talent on the defense.
  5. I think you need someone with experience so you can evaluate the offense and receivers. Having a rookie QB out there might make it hard to distinguish mistakes by QB vs lack of talent at skill positions.
  6. 1. Addition by Subtraction. Time for Webb and Monroe to go. Both are expensive and do not make the team better. Add (A. Brown, M Brown, Canty, Asa Jackson) to that list 2. Time to address needs aggressively in the offseason. Get a veteran LT and WR. Ravens have talented young guys on offense, but a couple of vets at key positions on offense would help. 3. Be aggressive on draft day. OZ has been patient in the first round the last few drafts. If you see a premier prospect that can rush the passer, Top tier LT, or talented DB, go get them. A safety and pass rusher would do the defense wonders. 4. Leadership: Team seems to lack fire. Seahawks pushed them around all game and no one gets pissed. They look like guys waiting for a participation trophy and another %u201Cwe play hard speech%u201D from Harbs. Winners don%u2019t except losing. Maybe add a veteran on defense for leadership or hire a former Ravens player as position coach. Lack of preparation and intensity is disturbing 5. Poor coordination: Much Like Cameron, Trestman is a former head coach that cares more about building a resume than doing the simple things to win the game. Every week they pass the ball 40 times (close game, 3rd string QB, late 4th quarter lead.) That has never been a consistent winning formula for the Ravens. This season has been like one long preseason waiting for Ravens to establish some consistency doing anything. Coaches need to be held accountable.
  7. The 3 of the 4 games the Ravens barely won were against very bad football teams (Browns, Rams,Chargers). Ravens look every bit of a 4-9 team. I am encouraged by some of the young talent on the offense. However, the defense stinks. Webb has got to go whether there is dead money or not. Does not make sense to continue to pay guys like Webb and Monroe who can't help you win.
  8. a Superbowl Star cut then on the practice squad. Mink is a hype machine.
  9. These writers can help themselves with hype. When you are playing Rams and Browns, hopefully your defense plays better. The unit that improved is the special teams. The test will be against the next 4 teams.
  10. With all of these injuries, young players are getting invaluable experience and will be seasoned for next year. I see Allen, Aiken, Boyle, Clay, Givens, Butler getting better. Add number 1 WR, pass rusher, and sure up the oline and these close loses may be wins. We are playing with a preseason team and still giving teams all they can handle.
  11. 1. Special Teams answered the bell 2) The defense is really bad. Only significant injury is Suggs and they make every offense and QB look great. 3.) The offense still is too pass happy. Trestman hates running the ball. Browns are terrible against the run and you have a backup QB and still only 12 carries by your lead bak. QBs under Trestman become turnovers machines. RUN THE BALL. 4) Young guys taking advantage of opportunities. 5)This team always plays hard. Rarely does this team look defeated. They give everyone a tough time. something for fans to be proud of despite records.
  12. Third and 1 and Trestman calls and toss for a 225 lb RB instend of following Yanda for one freaking yard. Unbelievable.
  13. I agree. Looking at the game vs the Rams a couple of things stand out. On offense, there are too many drive killing penalties. They are often in 3rd and long because of a penalty. Also, Flacco is missing throws and becoming a check down QB. Four times on 3rd down he looking at a guy not beyond the sticks. Defense just lack talent
  14. I like Webb experimenting with Webb at safety. so 1) Players in new positions 2) how Ravens handle Gurly 3)Will Ravens Commit to the run? 4) Who dominates the line of scrimmage? 5) Will Ravens continue to find ways to lose? turnerovers, penalties, dropped passes are more responsible for losses than talent or injuries. If talent was a big issue, Ravens would be getting blown out every week. I think they are poorly disciplined and lack good coordination on both sides of the ball.
  15. No wonder they never have money under the cap. Why cut Ross? Cause he turned over the ball. Joe did that 3 times in one game. Tell me a player on that 53 that consistent and mistake proof. Why another TE? Cut Asa (bs on injured) could have placed him on IR if they wanted him. Replace him with a guy he beat out in the preseason and you expect the team to improve. SMH
  16. 1. Poorly coached, undisciplined football team. How many times did Flacco chuck up the ball to Aiken in double coverage? How many ridiculous late hits? How many times does Jimmy and Webb play 8-10 yards off on 3rd downs and give up a slant or come back route? How many block in the back penalties on returns? Just inexcusable. 2. Was there any doubt that the defense would not hold if Jags only needed a FG? 3. Trestman does not like to run the football. Biggest difference between this year and last is the run game. Same players but different coordinator. 4. Ravens are not as talented as the years past. The close game we would win or the bad teams we would man handle doesn%u2019t happen anymore. Every game is down to the wire even against other 2-6 teams. That means Ravens are a bad football team. 5. I saw a team that lacked enough talent to beat a 2-6 Jags team. Sure there no Suggs or Smith Sr, but they are north of 33 years old. OZ must do more in the offseason to remain competitive. In the meantime, every coach seat is getting warmer. Losing to a 2-6 at home with all of the penalties and turnovers looks like bad coaching .
  17. Typical bandwagon Ravens fan. Wait unitl the Ravens are suffering a losing season to post all of this admiration for the Patriots and Steelers. Where's your purple pride? Crème de crème ? just sad.
  18. Die hard Ravens fan NEVER admire the Steelers for anything. Admire? Really? They couldn't beat us. Come On Man!
  19. Agreed. Same O-line, same pro bowl RB but the results have regressed. The running game protects your defense, helps salt away a lead, limits turnovers, wears down the defense, slows down the pass rush, sets up big plays through play action, and yet Trestman calls pass play after pass play. The run game last year hid our weaknesses because we imposed our will on the clock and the opposing defense. Also, Joe is a 8-year veterans QB, he ought to check out of those plays and realize he does not have the talent to carry the team through the air.
  20. I think one thing that Ravens front office, coaches, media, and perhaps some fans didn't realize is that while we were patting OZ on the back for finding diamonds in the rough through undrafted free agents, admiring his patience for letting whoever fall to the Ravens in the draft, being shrewd by letting veterans go, teams like the Browns, Bengals, Raiders, Jags were improving their football team by wining during the offseason. At most positions, Jags, Browns, Bengals, Raiders, are more talented that the Ravens. We are use to being the better team, but compare the rosters and their stats. the close game we use to win against those teams are now the ones we are losing. Ravens need to start winning in the offseason instead of being complacent
  21. My best shot at being positive: 1. At the very least Ravens will have top 10 draft status 2. Flacco%u2019s performance this will help structure a more reasonable contract. There may be a few teams that will pay Flacco more if Flacco and agent try to play hardball. 3. TEs are legit. Shame they try to make Aiken the #1 option when Gilmore, Boyle, and Williams are more reliable 4. Humble pie. It is nothing but blind arrogance for Harbs to contemplate a playoff run. Those words are done now. Thank God.
  22. Can we now put to rest any thoughts of a magical run? Harbs mentioned in the press conference he saw a lot of things he liked. Mink list Webb as a standout player in the article. What game are they watching? What I watched to my horror was a dumb football team. You are depleted a WR and you don't emphasis the run. Late hits, dumb penalty after dumb penalty. Late hit after late hit. Team lack discipline and smarts. When you lack talent and smart you get to 2-7 record.
  23. Does Brooks get reps at safety? Improved play from CBs if at all possible. Givens getting more opportunities. Throws to TEs. Can't do anything about players at this point so does the coaching improve.
  24. If you look a the 6 losses, most of those teams (Bengals, Broncos, Cardinals,49ers) may just be more talented or had an edge on the road. The disappointments are loses to Browns, Raiders. Raiders are definitely an improved team. I agree with the picks to root fro and looking forward to see how Ravens measure up against Chiefs, Jaguars, Dolphins,Rams and rematch with the Browns. Seattle , Bengals, Steelers will be tough.
  25. I wonder when it's going to sink in that the Ravens are not as talented as in the past. The most of the good players on the roster are over 31 yrs old. Ravens need to run the ball to keep the opposing offense off the field since the defense can't stop anybody. Hopefully Perriman gets in to see what he can do. I like the speed Givens bring to the table so give him more opportunities. Hopefully Ravens land in the top 10 of the draft so the team can bring in young talent on both sides of the ball.
