  1. I hope Peyton doesn't pull a Brett Favre. Ray was criticized for announcing his retirement. I respect that he put all his chips on the table instead of playing the cat and mouse game. Peyton's done. As far as Cam goes, he needs to learn humility. He bragging is not too different than Rodgers title belt celebrating or how Favre would carrying on during a game celebrating. The different is he can't pout after defeat.
  2. pass rushers are game wreckers. That's why I want Ravens to get best available pass rusher at pick number 6.
  3. Carolina all the way. It will be tough, but Peyton has a ring and a bust waiting 5 years after he retires. It would be good to see a new team get a ring.
  4. The Ravens are in a position to improve their team through the draft. If Perriman returns healthy and performs, that is like having an extra first round pick. Frazier can hopefully coach up the secondary. Suggs returning means a better pass rush with him , Dumervil, and Z Smith. The challenge becomes every other team has a draft too. Steelers will look to improve their secondary, Patriots will get O-line help, Chiefs and Bengals are already stacked with talent. In the NFC, Cards, Packers, Seahawks, Panthers are top notch. Every season takes on an identity of its own. There is no telling who will be the top teams in 2016, but the Ravens have their work cut out to be in the SuperBowl like this year's Broncos.
  5. Laworfootball? Joe and his agent should look at how other QB's in the league who are trophy wining "Franchise" Quarterbacks do it. The Ravens will keep Joe - FAT AND HAPPY- his family set for life and he will have the key to the city. What more could he ask for? So why shouldn't he sit down, work out the deal that HELPS the TEAM work within the NFL SALARY CAP numbers, to put them in a position to WIN the Super Bowl. What do you say there law.... The Ravens will restructure Joe's cap number as planned in year 3 of his contract, but Joe earned his money. The cap woes are not a result of Joe's original deal. In fact, it was cap friendly. Poor contracts by front office have them in this situation. You internet tough guys with your capital letters make me laugh.
  6. Fans are always expecting Joe to take a pay cut when for better or worse, he is clearly the Ravens best , most durable, impactful player. What fans tend not to question is their almost worship of OZ who has put the team in this cap hell. Webb counting 9.5M against cap is absurd. Where is his MVP, how many pro bowls has he played in?. Paying Pitta a long-term contract after breaking his hip is stupid. How about the Monroe contract? He is neither durable nor consistently performing at a high level. Now, $9.5M, $8.7M, $7.2M adds to $25.4 million reasons it's time to hold OZ accountable. Stop hoping Joe takes or wants less money and demand OZ and DeCosta, this supposed dynamic duo of GMs, start earning theirs.
  7. No. Ravens Need a CB,S, Pass rusher, Wr , and maybe even OT. Although I think they will look to get OT and Wr through cuts or mid rounds since Monroe is under contract and Perriman was 1st pick last year. At that spot the best player at one of those positions will be available. If Ravens trust their evaluation process, then take a playmaker at that spot. They can always use day two to trade down for move picks.
  8. I think to say OZ has lost his touch is probably overboard. However, the proof of poor draft picks is just too obvious to ignore. Ravens have failed to add a #1 receiver since 1996 so no excuses on the position of the draft. Also, the number of 1st or 2nd round picks that he was either unable to retain or under achieved can't be ignored. Some just seemed like bad luck like Kindle a 2nd round pick. Who knows what he would be if not for the accident. Oher drafted in 2009 and gone by 2013 is a big miss, Elam looks terrible, Cody and Upshaw are 2 Alabama guys that under achieved for 2nd round, using a 4th round pick on a FB when Joe needs target and CB needed depth. Playing hardball and letting players go without successfully replacing and . Is Monroe much better than Oher who is starting in the Superbowl, how about Jah Reid on Kansas City, Is Lewis better than Stewart for the Broncos. Add to that the number of years of dead money and cap woes. This offseason the pressure is on OZ and while Steve would never fire him and rightfully so, criticism from fans and media justified.
  9. That's one of the reasons they were almost in another AFC Championship game and this year they are 5-11. When you can't get to the QB, you will often lose in this pass happy league and all your DBs are exposed. My point was I don't think releasing Stewart for Lewis improved the secondary. Having enough elite pass rushers can fix the defense more than adding DBs.
  10. That's why I hope the Ravens use their #6 pick to get a pass rusher. Constant pressure on any QB is a game wrecker.
  11. I am noticing how well Stewart is playing for the Broncos. Broncos have the type of pass rush that makes DBs better. If Peyton was on target it would be 24 points on the board.
  12. At some point to prevent being always against the CAP, Ravens need to play players they draft and allow them to develop. Wright did not show enough to resign given their cap situation. Walker , Davis, Wilson, and a draft pick should be their goto options.
  13. I see your point since Ravens are 8th defense and 14th on offense which is not bad for a team with injuries. The big problem imo were the turnovers by offense and lack of turnovers created by defense. Part of that is throwing the ball over 40 times a game. I just get the feeling that without upgrades they will not be able to beat Bengals, Steelers, Patriots and the NFC elite teams.
  14. I am referring to interior line much as McPhee did. Ravens would have him go up against guards at times or stunt inside when they also had Suggs and at the time Kruger on the field. McPhee was able to disrupt the passing lane and Z Smith at 6'4 could do the same thing.
  15. Z. Smith is 6'4 275 and can play outside or inside. He'll get better. Can't wait to see how these large pass rushers move at the combine. Whether S, pass rusher, or CB we will get better defensively where we are picking in the draft in the first 3 rounds
  16. Your right. Cards also use a S at ILB. At #6 overall hopefully Ravens add enough team speed on both sides of the ball.
  17. Campanero has talent but you can't help the club from the tub. I hope he's not like a Webb or Smith. Flash potential then get hurt, contract year plays lights out and get resigned only to watch level of play decline. I wish all of our guys play every year like its a contract year. Campanero is a tough cover in the slot IF he can stay healthy.
  18. I guess that's why GMs don't get paid to listen to Mel Kiper. Wasn't he the one that said Elam was a perfect fit? Shaq Lawson, Calhoun, Bosa can rush the passer very well. Who cares if they can't cover. The league is not design to favor guys to cover. The rules make it too hard. Suggs, Dumervil, Upshaw, JJ for Ravens- D Ware, Miller on broncos are not great cover guys. You adjust your defense to talent as it presents itself.Panthers, Bengals, Cards, Seahawks are among the top defenses and run the 4-3. I think the Ravens should consider adjusting that if the available talent suits that scheme.
  19. Ravens have not got production from their team through top draft picks. Torrey, J Smith, Kindle, Cody, Upshaw, KO, Elam, A. Brown are a bunch of 1st and 2nd round picks that are either under achieving, no longer on the team, or may be unable to resign. That's why I'm hoping Frazier can develop what we have. Also, looking at the playoffs the consistent factor has been the pass rush. A great pass rush sets the tone of a defense. Ravens at #6 can get the one of the best pass rushers in the draft. They should jump at that with Suggs coming off his second injury and hinting the end of his career is near.
  20. If Frazier can't whipped the DBs into shape, then no one can. Good move. I expect improvements.
  21. Whether they move back or not, the IMO, the Ravens should get a pass rusher for the following reasons. How will Suggs plays after 2 Achilles tears, Both Suggs and Dumervil and over 30 years old, pass rusher will allow Z. Smith to be use as intended, a pass rusher makes the DBs better, pass rusher lead to ints and fumbles, pass rusher can be used immediately where CB,S need to develop (most times). Wish list Bosa, Calhoun, Floyd, Lawson. Ravens can not afford to lose games in the 4th quarter cause QBs have all day to throw the ball.
  22. Reed is a first ballot HOF. Why not give him a CHANCE to develop your poorish secondary? As far as his style of play, kids will aspire to be like Reed the same way kids mock Deon Sanders whether Reed coaches or not. If he did nothing more than inspire film study and leadership on the sideline to give pointers, it's better than what Ravens current have coaching the secondary. I've seen no improvement in Elam, Levine, Trawick, etc.. Best of Luck Ed.
  23. I don't know if Ravens ever offered Ed the chance, but what a missed opportunity for Ravens to have a legendary player continue to contribute to their team. They should have been approached Ed knowing he was interested in coaching.
  24. Browns coaching position has been a revolving door. Hue has a talent roster to work with. I definitely think Browns will pursue QB in the draft cause that's really the only missing piece. Ravens have to likewise fill in the missing pieces for long term success. Browns will get better.
  25. When it comes to being in the top ten, I value quality of a pick over quantity of picks. It's rare that a team that expects to compete for championship have a top 10 pick where you can find the elite pass rushers, sure thing LTs, CBs, DBs. Ravens need to just get the guy at #6. They can always move up and down day two. There are no sure things, but the more you move down the board, the more you move away from a consensus pick.
