  1. Hopefully the receiving corp can gel and stay healthy. Now a team's 3rd corner may be matched up against Aiken or Perriman or Smith Sr in the slot. A Safety can't drop into the box against the run when Perriman and Wallace are on the field. A LB is forced to cover Watson, Gilmore, or Maxx. Ravens offense has potential mismatches all over the field. Stay healthy and keep Joe upright.
  2. I think adding Weddle improves the secondary but no where near an end product. Jimmy is up and down, Webb whether people want to believe is done, and teams only stay away from Wright because Webb was easy target. Ravens need to add a CB in the second or third round. Give Walker and Davis an opportunity
  3. I think its an upgrade, maybe too much money for a 31 yr. old ( 4yrs $29M). I think Webb will be asked to lower salary or be a post June 1st cut. I don't think they will have the budget for that much money at one position.
  4. We don't need Wallace to be "the guy". He just needs to be a threat. Stretch the defense, provide YAC, move those chains. For the right price, hopefully he can do that. Smith Sr, Aiken, Wallace, Perriman (?), Campanero (healthy?), Matthews may be a solid core. You size, speed, slot, Red Zone covered.
  5. I don't like the signing. OZ just drafted 2 TEs last draft. If Maxx , a second round pick can't carry the load, why draft him with a 2nd round pick?. Also, at 35, how long can he contribute to the team? It's not like Ravens are a couple of players away from Superbowl champions at 5-11. Add to that Waller is now a TE and some guy off the practice squad tendered? Where else could the money on this contract be used to improve the team? We give Wright money like he is really a good CB. SMH at how OZ manages to blow money on over-valued players but never has enough to keep quality ones.
  6. I wonder if this means Gilmore is more hurt than they are letting on and maybe PUP to start the season. I like the Waller to TE move but he is not thickly built to be a blocker and still raw in his route running. His upside could be huge if he can catch the ball in traffic and hold onto the ball after contact. TEs are constantly being beat up by LBs and safeties not smaller CBs. No doubt he will be a tough cover for LBs so its worth a try.
  7. I would like for the Ravens too add a FA Wr, but what is the right price when you have a hole at LT and not a lot of cap space? I would feel better if/when the Ravens pick up a proven vet LT like they did in the past with McKinney for the right price. Solidify the offensive line or all of the fast Wr running down the field won't matter if Joe is running for his life or flat on his back.
  8. Jones is a dumb player. Both he and Burfict handed Steelers the game. Can't believe Ravens would even be interested. SMH
  9. OZ loves giving Joe old men to throw to . No wonder he can't get past 4,000 yards. So much for getting younger and faster.
  10. SMH head on this signing. We use a 4th round pick on Walker yet play guys that were cut. All this talk about improved secondary near the end of the year. That had more to do with softer schedule. Ravens refuse to develop guys they draft. I heard deal was 3 yrs 15 mil. Wright is not worth half that. Expensive secondary for lack of playmakers.
  11. I define instant coffee as top ten talent. I don't think Ravens will trade out of top 10. I think if Ramsey or Bosa are at 6 they stay put. But if they could move back a couple of spots to get a pick and still add Hargreaves, Spence, or Buckner who are also top 10 talents, then that would be great. I hope Ravens stay away from Stanley and Myles Jack. I don't think they are 'instant coffee'.
  12. He did a great job for the Ravens, but its time given his age and cap savings. Better a little soon than too late. Time for Orr, Brown to step up.
  13. Welcome to Baltimore Joey Bosa. I think Jags take Buckner since They drafted Fowler last year, Cowboys take a QB or Myles Jack, and Chargers grab Ramsey since Weddle is out. VH3 is #2 option at #6. I think Stanley, Spence, Lawson fall into trade back scenarios.
  14. I think Pitta and Webb fall into the category of the Ravens front office trying to squeeze value out of a bad contract. I would rather trust a mid round draft pick or Brooks at safety than Webb who lost more than a step. Pitta needs to think of life after football. Lastly, Terrell Suggs ran a 4.8 forty. He was a defensive player of the year, been to multiple pro bowls, and an all pro. Unless Ravens plan to pick in the top 10 in the near future, they must get Bosa or Spence who have top 10 talent since both Suggs and Dumervil are aging.
  15. I think part of the Ravens short yardage and goal line struggle is not necessarily the RB but not having a bruising lead blocker like Leach, Gash, or O'Neal like in years past. Juice is good catching out of the back field, but he's doesn't clear the path when defenses knows a run is coming.
  16. My concern is what happens if team like Cleveland rather try RGIII or Kapernick than draft a rookie at a top spot. Then you have more teams drafting at the strength of the draft which is defense.
  17. I am cautious of players that stay away from Combine drills. Treadwell a WR not running the 40-yard says to me that he's slow. Stanley not bench pressing is a concern. Why would a Tackle not want to show strength? Why not compete if your not even considered the top tackle? Oher and Monroe are athletic, but they struggled with bull rushers. Speed is not everything, Jerry rice wasn't that fast, but he competed. I would have liked to see Stanley and Treadwell compete in every drill.
  18. There goes OZ favoring his useless Alabama products. no wonder we always have cap woes. Even IF, Richardson had something to offer, why spend any money on that position from a guy who could not produce with 2 other teams. SMH
  19. Ravens must stop paying guys that are not on the field. Whether because of always injured, suspensions, or poor play. That's a formula to be 3rd in the AFC North. You are not going to catch Steelers and Bengals paying guys who can't play while they eat up cap space so you can't improve the team. What did Asa add after all those suspensions? Nothing, and was eventually cut because he was outperformed by someone the Ravens got off the street.
  20. Ed Reed is a once in generation player so Ravens need to stop trying to replace that skill set. Webb should not be handed to position but compete for it. Safeties also have to be the last line of defense and I don't see Webb tackling a RB that breaks through the line or a TE in the open field. Lewis, Trawick, Brooks and maybe ?? Elam are better suited for that. Let Frazier develop these guys. One key to a good secondary is continuity but Ravens are rotating safeties too much. To be honest I think Ravens look at the $9M cap hit and may let Webb go after June 1. It is a matter of avoiding too much dead money.
  21. I think Williams is a monster. Jernigan just needs to stay healthy
  22. Two years in a row and now gone for 10 games. I don't know how it will impact the CAP, but I would seriously consider letting him go or trade him. Ravens have too many holes to fill and little cap space to hang on to a 3rd string knucklehead.
  23. I hope he is able to get the best out of Jimmy. I also think Brooks , Davis , and Walker can get better. Also, you add another coach with DC experience to make the scheme better suit the talent.
  24. Ravens are limited in FA. My dream scenario would be to trade with Cowboys who can wait to get a Myles Jack, QB,WR and leap frog Jags to get Bosa or Ramsey. If not, I think they can move back a couple of spots (#8-9) and still get a guy like OLB Spence, CB VH3, CB Alexander, and have an extra pick to pick a Wr in the later rounds. If Ravens don't renegotiate with Flacco, then I expect some vets like Webb, Canty, D. Smith, Arrington, Lewis to be gone to clear CAP space.
  25. If the Ravens plan on unseating either Steelers or Bengals as AFC North Champs, they need playmakers on both sides of the ball. Ravens need a pass rusher, better weapons at Wr, a CB that can cover man ( Jimmy is inconsistent game to game, year to year). I think the upcoming combine may determine what position (OLB, Wr, CB) Ravens draft first or will they move back for additional picks.. Unless Spence blows the interview process, I expect him to be top 10. Speed will determine which CB, Wr rise or fall. At number 6, I would not be surprise if Ravens trade up if a QBs value drop, Browns may not value a QB at #2 while Ravens covet a Bosa or Ramsey.
