  1. Yes frustrating. Let go of Boldin for peanuts, and yes that contract would have been overpaying Torrey. However, they found a way to give big contracts to Webb and J Smith and they take turns being injured or getting beat. Two out of the last three draft classes were deep at the WR position and Ravens walk away with Perriman and Campanero.
  2. Two years and your first round pick can't see the field. When a Wr gets hurt running around in shorts, it's time to label him a bust. Wish Ravens didn't pass on Dorsett, Funchess and DGB for this guy. He and Campanero are stealing money from the Ravens and opportunities from others at this point. They have NFL talent , but do not have NFL bodies. I don't trust either of them to hold up in a 16 game season.
  3. I still think Ravens football is about the ability to run the ball. If the run game is good , then the defense is rested, the passing game is setup, and the Raven are more efficient in the red zone. Trestman needs to have balance and the Ravens can waste the first part of the schedule to figure that out.
  4. I give Carroll credit for building a strong team and installing a system to turn the Seahawks franchise around. To win consistently you also need a good QB and a GM to put pieces to make team successful. Belicheck and Carroll I think are both GM/coaches so the top 2 is legit. I don't think Harbs strengths are game strategy, Xs and Os, handling the media, winning the division, in-game adjustments, and time management so I will not debate his position.
  5. There is a lot of unproven talent on the roster so stating this team is deep is premature. If you watched Elam's and A Brown college tape you would not believe they would be as ineffective as they have been to this point. Rookies have to prove themselves, vets on a new team or new position have to prove themselves. All I hope for is that the roster remains reasonably healthy so that injuries are not deciding whose on the final 53 roster.
  6. Sometimes injuries could happen due to fatigue. Harbs needs to preserve the team. There have been too many practice injuries.
  7. Campanero probably gets PUP or placed or IR to have a year to see what Reynolds can do. After 3 years of injuries you can not keep cutting guys for potential that stands on the sideline.
  8. In my opinion this season will be defined by primary 2 things. Health and contributions from the guys they brought in through the draft and no drop off from guys returning from injury. In the draft, the Ravens doubled, no tripled down on pass rushers and did not add ILB or safeties. So it makes me believe they are counting on Frazier to coach-up guys like Elam, Lewis, and Brooks to be better contributors while believing that Webb, Brown and Orr can successfully take on expanded/new roles. Also the Ravens are deep in some positions (RB, Wr, O-line) so it will be interesting to see who makes the team. That's a good problem to have. Now can we stay healthy?
  9. Elam may get traded or cut before the start of the season. Ravens secondary is a mess cause 1st round Jimmy Smith, 1st round Matt Elam , and highly paid Webb are either often injured or under achieving. If Ravens are lucky , a quality CB becomes available after cuts to add more depth and one of the young guys Canaday, Young, Wilson, Davis stay healthy and show promise. A healthy pass rush can also go a long way.
  10. That's it. Blame everyone but OZ. He is Harbs boss so I don't think Harbs is responsible for bad drafts. OZ is. He's the wizard when things work out so don't make excuses if things go wrong. The fact is Ravens had 9 draft picks before the draft and while on the board, passed on Buckner, Tunsil, Jack , and Spence who were from a talent perspective top 10-15. If any of these guys turn out to be stars, perennial pro bowlers while the guys he selected are just "guys" its his fault and no one else. This was supposed a draft with their reputations were on the line and according to OZ himself, previous drafts did not live up to standards. Tme will tell.
  11. One of the head scratchers for me was Chris Moore when there were solid S and CBs still on the board. Ravens just never seem to hit on Wrs in the draft so I would have liked a safety or CB there. However, I am also one of those fans that say FO does not give Flacco enough weapons. Now he has 3 guys that can go deep, a couple of slot shifty guys, pass catching TEs and depth on the o-line. Maybe after cuts we add to the secondary if in OTA no one stands out.
  12. There are a few of players I hope Ravens get undrafted. S Cash or Powell,Shumate, LB Norris or Striker, or CB Crawley, and to me FB Hicks (reminds me of Leach) would be an asset. Put him in front of any of our RB in short yard or goal line and our 3rd down conversion and redzone TD percentage go up. I like juice but he is not physical in short yard situations. Ravens kick way too many FGs in goaline situations.
  13. Ravens entered the draft with several needs. LT,CB, Pass rusher, and Wr. Stanley and Lewis will solidify the offensive line. Correa, Kaufusi, Judon, and Henry add pass rushers. Moore, Dixon, Reynolds were productive playmakers in college. My concern is I don't think they did enough in the secondary. They may have to add a veteran CB and/or S after cuts. Disappointed they passed on some defensive guys that I thought would help, but the guys they drafted may take the spot of guys they have. Some potential cuts are Monroe, M. Brown, Lewis Moore, maybe Campanero, and 2 RBs. They used all 11 picks without taking any risky player (character or physical issues). That's a rebuild mentality. Hope it works out.
  14. Like the Willie Henry and Alex Lewis, Dixon picks. However, crowed backfield with good LB and S still on the board. Would have loved Killibrew over Young.
  15. Why not Listenbee there?
  16. The fact is in the last 7 years Ravens have drafted more under achieving or bust players. That is fact. These writer keep mentioning the Wright signing like he is a pro bowl player smh. Once again Ravens go into a draft with glaring holes and do not get one blue chip, sure fire player in the secondary or pass rusher and just a bunch of guys that need to develop. By the time they do, they will get better contracts elsewhere like Ellerbe, Kruger, KO, Torrey, McPhee.. But in OZ we Trust?
  17. I can agree with your Opinion there. However i do believe Correa Can be that Von Miller that other teams are gonna have to Gameplan for. Same attributes and same Motor. Dont Judge these guys just yet. Give them the opportunity to Prove themselves. Nobody thought anything Of Tom Brady and look at him now.. he was a 6th round pick. Perriman if Healthy can also be another player we have that teams will have to gameplan for. We just have to have Patience and wait and see I hear your, but Tom Brady is an outlier. I agree it will take patience to evaluate these guys because none of them are day one impact. I hope are wrong. O Patience: I'm still waiting for Jimmy Smith to be the elite corner, still waiting for Arthur Brown to contribute, still waiting for Elam to cover (anybody), still waiting for Perriman to hit the field. By patience will you be content with another 5-11 or 8-8 season?
  18. I'm not saying Stanley, Correa, and Kaufusi are not good players. My expectation with the 6th overall pick was impact players. I looked at plenty of mocks, big boards. No one had Correa better than Spence. Every playoff team and contenders have a Beast. Top notch players that you scheme for if your facing them. JJ Watt, Antonio Brown, AJ Green, Gronk, Von Miller, Dez Bryant, Richard Sherman, Adrian Peterson, etc... Who do you Ravens have that would scare you if you were the other team? Our best players are over 30 years old. This draft was supposed to add one of those type players. I don't see it.
  19. Decosta poured you a cup of 4th round Kool-Aid and drank it bottoms up. LMAO.
  20. How about PRAYER! Cause line up the rosters and see how we compare to other teams. Cap issues every season, dumping players that helped you win those two rings (Boldin, Dilfer, Pollard) and suffering for years to get back, handing big contracts to often injured and severely injured players (Webb, Pitta), I could write a list of bust and under achieving players since 2008, unable to extend contracts of top round draft picks , never drafted a true number one receiver in twenty years. But, OZ the man? You living on yesterday
  21. They have watched hundreds hours of tape. They know what value they are getting. Youve watched a 2 minute youtube video and listened to Mel "overraction" Kiper. Ill trust ozzie who has 2 Rings. Monday morning GMs. SMH I heard that we watched after they drafted Elam. You must believe the players Ravens already have will just play better to agree to pass on first round talent for a guy projected to go late second or third round by draft experts. I guess we will see
  22. I don't feel like the team we have right now is any better than the team last year. Ravens needed impact, game changing players. What OZ decided was more picks, more "guys". We needed a star. Sad to see other teams get it. Taking risk to get blue chip players while we move back to pick 4th and 5th round guys hoping to find a diamond in the rough instead picking up the diamond in front of you. Spence and Buckner will tear up league.
  23. If Correa is all of that, why was he rated so below players Ravens passed on?, Why was he still available? Stop thinking OZ is smarter than everyone else and just see it for what it is. He's slipping and the proof will come this season.
  24. finally someone that sees the big picture and gets it. good post!! OK Greek. I hope your right, but Passing on Buckner, Spence, Jack for Stanley and Correa. I don't see the impact player that make Ravens better. They are old at key position. I value quality of player not number of picks. If Ravens miss the playoffs, I will look for your comments
  25. you people that say Who is that obviously havent been following the players in the draft. I guess thats why you guys are here in the forums and Ozzie and the others are in the FO, lol.... I bet yous woulda took Tunsil over Stanley last night too, lol You OZ loyalist are just blinded. Terrible strategy. DeCosta mention they believed at pick 36 they would get a first round talent guy. Correa was never projected that high. They needed an impact player in the first two rounds and blew it. Meanwhile the rest of AFC got better.
