Joe bad throw to Crocket 5. Ref PI against skin bail out of 3rd and long 3 straight passes – FG 10-6 6. Big kick return Skins 7. Suggs sack forces punt 8. Perriman dropped pass deep 9. Flacco sacked -punt 10. Orr forced fumble ball on Wash 15yd 11. 2 straight passes (now 5 straight passes) getting away from the run now 3rd and long 12. Run on 3rd and long 4down 13. Fake FG attempt on the 16 yard line – SMH? Missed no points off turnover 14. Roughing the passer Guy – 15 yard penalty 15. Off sides - Jernigan 16. Ravens stop 4th and 1. (Two stupid coaching decision by both teams) who really wants the players to win the game? 17. Ravens abandoning the run game three straight passes and a 3 and out. Almost no time off the clock. 18. Skins miss 53 yard. 19. With one second left decides to call a pass play deep in their own territory. Sack - SMH Maybe the worst coached game I’ve seen. Ravens should be up by at least 7 points but are in a dog fight with a team that can’t stop the run.
  2. Bradshaw Mediocre? He is in the Hall of fame with 4 rings and SB MVP right? Another difference is the Steel Curtain and HOF Wrs he had. In today's Cap driven NFL, you can't keep all of your good players. Therefore GMs pick who they want to keep, pay , and build the team around. In the case of the Ravens, it's Joe. First round Wr, 1st round LT, they extend Yanda, hold onto Pitta depite injuried fro 2 years, bring in free agents TE and Wrs every season. OZ is giving Joe all he can afford. I like Joe, but he needs to step up.
  3. lets look at your issue in just a little more detail; First i believe that you are missing the most glaring stat- that receivers, TE and RB- MUST catch the ball- SSr, Wallace, Aiken, Perriman, Williams, Forsett, Gilmore, Moore and West have ALL dropped passes that were right in their hands. Unacceptable! ( in fact the reason we lost the game sunday was simply because of dropped passes during the past drive) Though Joe would not throw anyone under the bus. 17 drops ( not misses) is embarrassing for an offense, Quite honestly until they start catching the ball, I will not criticize Joe. Joe Flacco cannot throw and catch the passes. Joe doesn't make the play calls, he can adjust the call at the line if he has the proper personnel. O line played very below average last game. So far the ravens have out scored and gained more yards than their opponents this is a direct reflection on Joe, certainly you cannot attribute it to a running game If a defense allows 3rd down and 19, 16, 12, 8 and 7 you can expect that points will be scored by the opponent Yeah I been there with the dropped passes excuses and play calling. The elite QBs, pro bowl QB still get it done. Listen, he threw the ball 52 times last week, 45 times the week before that. I think it's a wash. How many times is he throwing too high or behind receivers without touch. They also catch his poorly thrown balls. It's just another excuse. I get it. I've been there. But watch the game. If receiver dropped 5 balls, what bout there other 35 attempts?
  4. My 5 things to watch are all about Joe Flacco. For years I’ve been a Flacco apologist. It’s the coach, it’s the line, its receivers, the running game etc. Now he has a HOF receiver in Smith Sr., his security blanket in Pitta, 2 receivers with speed in Wallace and Perriman, solid RBs, and 2 other 6’ 5 TEs. So far this season, Joe has faced defenses near the bottom of league and is throwing over 30 times every game and the offense still is looks inconsistent drive to drive, half to half, game to game. If Joe had an all pro LT, all pro RB, all pro Wr, all pro TE, then Ravens would not be able to pay him the money he gets. 1. Will Joe throw accurately today? 2. Does he protect the football? 3. Is his play consistent all 4 quarters? 4. Is he making adjustments at the line? 5. Joe’s production. He facing a defense that gives up the run and pass. Can he be ‘the guy’ that gets the offense going? If yes to these questions, the Ravens will not only beat the Skins, but are a playoff team. Redskins have a good offense so the defense may struggle today. Joe is getting paid more than anyone on the field (on both teams). He needs to be the guy that is the reasons Ravens win, instead of a guy that needs the best of everything around him to win. No more excuses!
  5. Try him or Davis on the outside. Desean Jackson or Garcon will eat Wright up. The Redskins have a good enough line to provide protection and run the ball.
  6. Foresett is a class act. I think Kubiak's scheme helped him shine. Disappointed that Ravens can't copy Kubiak's run scheme effectively. I'm not sure the Ravens really value him. This move suggested he just held a spot until Dixon was able to return. I hope he performs as he did in preseason. Also, the younger backs have shown potential. I expect other veterans to lose their spot. Wright will eventually lose time to Davis or Young. I don't understand why Judon is not used more. He should get more reps in practice and snaps during the game.
  7. This type of article males me think the coaches and Joe are nuts. He has just come off ACL/MCL surgery, just got the crap beat out cause his line could block for 3 seconds and he and coaches want more deep passes. Unbelievable! You need better pass protection and a running game to setup play action.
  8. West needs to continue to start. I think they should have Foresett active as well. He is still very effective catching out of the back field.
  9. The positives from this game are that Ravens will battle for 60 minutes. They never quit and can hang tough. The defense held the #2 offense under 100 yards rushing and under 200 yards passing. How did we lose.... 1. Trestman: He does not have any concern for the running game or Joe’s Health. 52 passes will not win games for most QBs, but definitely not Joe. At one point there were 18 passes in a row. You would think after coming off an ACL/MCL injury your coordinator would make protecting Joe a priority. He does not add TEs or RBs to support the same backups on the O-line that got Joe hurt last season. Inexcusable. 2. Joe: He is Mr. Hot and Cold. He runs the plays as they are called and seems like he does not adjust. 52 passes and he still does not pass 300 yards. With all these weapons, that is also unacceptable. On the other side, Carr with only 3 years of experience, threw 35 times, for 4 TDs, and a 123 QB rating. 3. Coaching: Are they arrogant or just poor decision makers? Going for 2 early in the game when your offense is struggling is a head scratcher. Also, removing a 4th down on an offense that is ranked #2 in the league. SMH? Has backups on the online and still insisted or calling pass play after pass play. Wright got exposed. Why no switch? Was there any doubt when Webb got hurt they would go to Lewis side? 4. Offense line: Hurst and Jensen are terrible. Zuttah has been playing subpar. There is no question why a rookie like Lewis beat out the veterans. They stink. Joe won’t last with Hurst out there. 5. Penalties: Killed drives today. Raiders had fewer yards, less time of Possession, less plays, more hits on our QB. They won in the trenches Raiders ran the ball 19 times cause they knew Wright was a weakness they could target.
  10. I think that's on Pees. If you look at it, he play a prevent type defense. They were dropping out and sending only 3 or 4 guys. That gave Carr time to watch Crabtree work Wright.
  11. There were a couple of mismatches that the Raiders took advantage of. First Hurst, if he continues to start, Joe will be on the IR list. Jensen is not much better. The left side got manhandled and that crippled the offense. Second, they drew a circle around Wright. Crabtree abused him. In both cases, I waited for the coaches to give them help and it never happened. Their penalties killed drives with false starts and holding. Just terrible effort of that left side. You would think a smart coach would say, I have two backups starting against good pass rushers. Maybe rollouts, quick slant, screens, crossing routes, commitment to the run would be the focus. But they continue to look for chunk yards. That's on Joe too. He should be able to read that and adjust protection or the play to beat the rush.
  12. Hindsight is 20/20. It was a 38 yard FG before the penalty, would have been a 53 yard FG after. Everyone wants to talk about Harb's decision but what about the D giving up a 1st Down on 3rd & 18? Agreed it's hindsight. The defense should always get off the field on 3rd and 18. However, if the defense gives you a fourth down, take it. Janakowski can hit the ball from 53 so I didn't think they gained anything by giving them another opportunity to get a first down.If the defense stopped them and he misses the kick, Harbs a genius.
  13. lol...you watch the game and you think the play-calling is to blame? OC doesn't miss tackles, OC doesn't Hold, OC doesn't let Raiders defense get to Joe. I have to disagree. This was a coaching loss IMO. First, to go without giving Hurst help for so long watching the offense be unable to get started in the first half. Second, chasing the points. Going for 2-points and not declining the penalties to put Raiders in an obvious field goal. The result was scoring a touchdown. That 5-point the Raiders should have had off coaching decision. Raiders have a good defense. If you keep giving them opportunities , they will score. I think the defense is legit if you holding that talent to under 300 yards total offense. Joe throwing the ball 52 times has never been a winning formula. If that's not the coordinator, then who? Critical plays were Joe's fumble, and the long return. Both lead to touchdowns.
  14. Decision to not decline penalty was bad against best red zone offense. That was 4-points.
  15. They come out in the second half and don't get Hurst help, start having quick passes, and at least run the ball some, Trestman, has got to be questioned.
  16. Hurst going to get Joe IR'd
  17. Difference is coaching. When you can replace the QB multiple times and still move the ball, the coaches are doing a great job. The Ravens offense has taken steps backwards when Kubiak left and Joe needs to play better and stop turning over the football. There is too much talent to have one TD a game.
  18. Biggest thing I will watch is our offense versus the Raiders defense. The Raiders defense so far has been terrible. Our offense seems to struggle no matter who we play. The inconsistencies of the offense make games closer than they should be. If the offense sputters then that will give the #2 ranked offense of the Raiders too many opportunities to score and may exposed the secondary. If the our offense plays up to it's potential, then the defense can play with a lead which will allow the front seven to get to Carr. It is time for no excuses. There are too many weapons on the Ravens offense to be ranked near the bottom of the league. At the end of the day , I expect a Ravens win, but its game 4 so time for the offense to show up for 4 quarters.
  19. I think there are 3 things wrong with the Ravens running. First, Trestman's play calling. He simply does not stick to the run game and it does not look like he scheme runs well. A lot of draws from shot gun, perimeter runs with TEs that can't block. What happened to the power run game with a FB as lead blocker? Foresett does not make people miss nor run people over. He hits the ground as soon as he is touched. Start West and give Allen some carries. He has not looked good in the preseason, but he did ok when Foresett was out last season. Too many hits in the backfield. Oline needs to be more physical.
  20. 1. You got good Joe and bad Joe in the same game. There was a time in the game when Joe was smoking…but his receivers dropped balls and lineman were called for penalties. When they did not take advantage of good Joe, eventually the turnovers, in accurate throws, and the offense got out of sync. Joe has to be good for 4 quarters. 2. Defense has improved since last year. Mosley does not look lost in coverage, the pass rush is present, and they are getting turnovers. No matter the opponents, last year they were not making plays. 3. Naysayers will tell you the Ravens have not beaten anybody. They are the worst 3-0 team. Blah Blah blah blah. It is too early to know who the good or bad teams are THIS season. That terrible Bills team the Ravens barely beat, whipped the Cardinals that many predicted to go to the Super bowl. That ultimate Steelers offense only put up 3 points against the eagles. A rookie hung 34 points on that ‘improved’ defense. 4. Tucker is money. Revenge is giving him a second chance. Perfect 5. There is room for improvement- starting faster, playing for 4 quarters, better results in the run game, stop turning over the football. Yet they are 3-0
  21. The Steelers, who are supposed to have an explosive offense, is getting the sparks beat off their helmets. The Bengals got beat by a QB that only started 3 games in the NFL, and the Bills lit up the Cards defense. Ravens always find ways to make every game close. Today it was the offense and Hester's fumble. They need a killer instinct. For now, enjoy the 3-0.
  22. I like what I am seeing from the defense. Hits on the QB, Turnovers, and flying to the football. Missed opportunities, turnovers, and penalties made the game a closer than it should have been. West needs to start and get Aiken involved. Urban's ability block kicks is huge.
  23. I think this games comes down to Ravens getting to the QB and the offense not turning over the football. I expect Ravens to throw a lot so no drops and Ints will be something I will watch.
  24. I don't think the Jags can deal with a healthy Ravens team. That being said , they always give the Ravens fits. We need our A game on the road against a desperate team.
  25. My concern with the Ravens is the missed tackles. Coleman exposed them a little bit so , the secondary must play better. What encourages me is the constant hits we get on QBs and Joe spreading the ball around.
