It all depends. If a lot of our top guys get cleared out like Lattimore, Barnett, Jones, Wilson, Hooker, Adams, then we could trade back 5 or so picks and land another third, if not, another second if we make the right deal.

Draft is loaded with defensive talent and an extra pick could help bolster our unit. We could drop back and still get a game changer, such as Dan Feeney, Tim Williams, Charles Harris, Budda Baker, Tre White, etc.

I agree with this. If the Ravens want to make impact selections (top 3-4) rounds at their areas of need: DB, pass rusher, OL, and WR they need to accumulate some more picks.

The Friday rule only applies to free agency.  Plus, we kind of have to get this going since we're starting a little later than last year.  No real reason to wait another couple of days and start on Sunday.  Feel free to shoot your teams my way though.

I'll send you mine, too, sometime today once I get a top two

He broke his neck his junior year but ultimately I'm sure he was cleared or he wouldn't of played the following season (which was this last season). I was scared off a bit by his neck issue a bit ago but I don't think there is anything to fear there now.

Just making sure. I'm sure it'll be looked over at the combine, too. Everyone gets their medical checks.

The most interesting thing about this, and something I've never thought about previously, is that Rice is the only 2nd round pick we've resigned.  Sadly, that worked against the team since he only played one year under the new contract and it was a very bad year for him on the field

Yeah, I noticed that, too. Not a lot of second contracts. There are guys they would've like to re-sign, though.

I may be in the minority here, but I want no part of Ray Lewis as a coach for the Ravens at this time.  I think he has too much of a "look at me" personality and would be a distraction.  Plus, I have no clue whether he can coach or not.  He is too big of a legend for him to come here as a coach and potentially fail.  I can't imagine the backlash that would happen if he came here and failed as a coach and he had to be fired.  Granted, I am all for him pursuing a coaching job if that is what he wants, but I feel that would be best in a different location for both him and the Ravens (at least until he can prove he's an effective coach)

I agree with the idea that his legacy has more to lose than gain by coaching at this point.

He's still a relatively young and relevant guy. He would like be squandering his opportunities elsewhere as an assistant LB coach.

Big Corey Davis fan but I'll take williams over him any day.

hes got the clutch gene, better physical traits, and is only semi raw and ready to produce now.

I still doubt he falls to 16

Is his neck thing okay? Don't really watch much college football and only heard about that in the championship game

I love Kelly's offensive philosophy. If you manage the team for him, I think he can be a great offensive coordinator.

He should never be in control of personnel decisions, but in terms of just offensive design and playcalling he was great in Philly. He made Nick Foles look like a star qb in his system.

He kinda reminds me of Rex in a way. Great mind for one side of the ball, but should never be a head coach at the NFL level.

But would he go somewhere when he can't have significant input into players he wants to target? A set up like that would seem to hamper both sides.

Even snapping 7 or 3 or 5 etc seconds is better than what he was doing.

I just expected the best offense in the league to be better and pull on the clutch drive/play when it mattered to win the biggest game of their lives.

Julio Jones did all he could until a 12 yard sack, a holding penalty, and an in-completion pushed them out of FG range. Not to mention the strip-sack earlier which the Patriots cashed in for 8 easy points.

The Falcons #1 offense floundered down the stretch. The defense couldn't get off the field. Another play from either side and we're not talking about it today.

  9. I appreciate that the Ravens made the plays where the Falcons could not but there was also a big difference:

The Patriots ran the ball in at their final plays of the goal line, the 49ers chucked it up until the they ran out of downs.

Now, in overtime, the Patriots threw a dumb fade at the goal line to Bennett (who fell over and the LB deflected it) - that was sketchy. But, unlike the 49ers and the Seahawks, they had a chance to 'atone' for that mistake and run it in. Let it be a lesson to all play callers who think they're so cute, run the ball!

  10. Guy and Anderson getting in spells good things for great specialists. Can't be upset with that. Maybe Stover one day.

Was more surprised at Terrell Davis. He had a great 4 year run, sure, but so did Ray Rice. Their all-purpose numbers, outside of TDs, are actually pretty comparable. Ray Rice is no Hall of Famer for the same reason Davis shouldn't be - career longevity. His career numbers put him well below guys like Clinton Portis, Fred Taylor, Chris Johnson, Shaun Alexander, MJD, etc. He's not even in that class in terms of a career. Shame.

Jerry Jones was fine, it just made the show jump the shark to become a Cowboys love-fest. Art Modell is equally, if not more, deserving.

Dawkins should get his due soon. Faneca, too. Next years class, I fully expect Ray, Moss, and Barber to get in first time.

Very interesting to not have seen Kelly here, but I'd love for Kelly to come over to the Ravens in some capacity.

Really? He has some good concepts but look what he did to the Eagles when he got full control there.

I know the concept is to Kelly-proof the team, similar to baby-proofing the house, but I don't think Harbaugh has ever really let someone like that on his staff.

  12. Shanahans will Shanahan. He's getting blasted for play selection and also the fact that the Falcons were leaving time on the play clock before snapping the ball.

The 3rd and 1 sack fumble was the spark that started the Patriots comeback. Matt Ryan looked shook. The Falcons choking it away was historic.

Don't like the Patriots but that was a great game and performance.

I see the rules thread is up, and I'm working on my post count. Is there anything else I should look into to prepare for this?

You can look at the old 2016 threads from this game if you're curious. See how the bidding works, what we discuss, and stuff. The guys are comprehensive, though, if you ask questions, they'll answer.

I'm not sure but I just looked it up and he had at least 9 DV accusations.....thats not good lol. Especially for the ravens. Now I have a hard time believing He is a legitimate option

Oh I had forgotten about that - credit to him to how he's turned his career/lifestyle around but, still, we'll see how far the 'no DV' mandate stretches.

Ive never really followed our reporters that much, just read the news that's out there.  I don't normally believe anything I read around this time of the year.

I was more just griping to the world. Wilson always seemed to have some scoop or great insight - rumor was he was tight with players agents and some staff. Zrebiec just seems to parrot some stuff and try to connect the dots best he can.
