So what was the context?
Beginning of the episode ?
End?
He and Stewie were just out playing and that was it?
Sounds like every Family Guy episode. Random stuff, no plot, not all that funny.
Just Seth MacFarlane and his voices.
Sometimes you just don't know when... Your head has to tell you when... The body says no, but his mind still wants it. It is kinda sad when you think about it. It would have been so sweet for him to go out with Ray... They both would have been eligible for the HOF together, and it would have been nice to see them both go into the Ring of Honor together....
Lot's of what ifs... but I don't think Ed really appreciated how much Baltimore Loved Him.
Agreed
He looked awfully frustrated on the sidelines today
So much for that!
Wade Phillips replies:
“There’s disappointments in this league and in life,” Phillips said. “And I believe the way you deal with those things tells a lot about what you are and who you are.”
“When we let Ed go, I went down to the training room,” Phillips said. “I looked him right in the eye, shook hands with him and I said, ‘Thank you. … It was an honor to coach a guy that’s going to be in the Hall of Fame and I wish you good luck. The truth is the truth.”
Ed being Ed doesn't sit well with Houstonians.
As if the bridges weren't already singed, Ed Reed put dynamite under them
Telling the "truth" probably cost you a few million, Ed. Money is the reason you left Baltimore in the first place.
He did say he could see himself returning to Baltimore to coach... while passive-aggressively putting down unnamed coaches but anyways... Ask him in a few hours, I'm sure his stream of consciousness will reveal something else.
The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug looks really really good. I can't wait!
Pumped for it. Judging from the previews, I just don't know what will be left for the third movie. What I figure so far:
-The Battle of Five Armies
-Completion of Dol Goldur Necromancer/Sauron storyline
-Thorin's death, probably coinciding with Azog the White Orc storyline
-Bilbo's return home, gets his gold, has to get Bag End back after everyone figures he died
-Maybe some epilogue with how Frodo comes to live with him; tie it back to LOTR (Gollum getting captured?).
Gollum might be too good of a character and looked too good in CGI for them to resist not putting him back in. Even though he's not explicitly in the book anymore, they might find a way to squeeze him in.
To those that say he should just hang 'em up...
So, you're in the NFL and have two potentially playoff bound teams fawning over you. One is ran by a defensieve genius and the other is (supposedly) the greatest coach of the modern day era. Both are going to offer you a milly or two and a heavily incentive laden contract. What do YOU do?
I'm jumping at it. Anyone who will pay you that much. Get your money while you can.
Throughout the devolution of the Ravens the point conveyed here has been that a player can be vastly more valuable to one team than another. That essential quality has been lost to more "influential" people than the posters here. Stats are a very poor barometer unless one is playing fantasy football, the operative word being fantasy.
The threads here will reveal that this poster stated Reed would go unclaimed. That is not a surprise for a number of reasons so there's no need to get into them. But if he wants to play for another team its likely he will. I'd like to see him with the Jets, lighting up Joltin Joe for a pick six to further illustrate the ineptitude of our Front Office.
The only relevant stat is 4-5. You are what your record says you are.
Lol'd.
I thought it was Ozzie's fault Reed was gone? Now it's on Harbaugh? Do I have to post the hugging pictures again? Or perhaps when he publicly defended Reed (and Lewis) from calls for them to be benched?Don't know if other teams will put in claims for Reed. He's expensive, they have to pay his negotiated salary correct?
He'll clear waivers and then be a Free Agent. He'll have the Texans guarantee money and if our F.O. is shrewd this time, they'll convince him to come back. But Reed is outspoken and Little Napoleon may not want him back.
The key question though..."Is our Safety Play at a satisfactory level". I'll answer that one with a resounding NO
Ed took the money - good for him, he had been talking about money for years before. But his attitude and his play (or lack thereof) got him cut. He left Baltimore for money, we all wanted him back but not at $5M/year.
You're talking about a team (Texans) "augering" into the ground after a fight for the flight controls. That team is in complete chaos.
After they pulled Reed, I saw their safeties torched over the top. They looked like Cleats and Digger staring into the backfield.
Did Reed speak up? Yes he did. Did it cost him remaining on the roster? I think it did. But guess what, theres guarantee money. It was an expensive position of principle to let him go for addressing whats really wrong with the other safeties playing like abbott and costello... I mean ours.
. Anyone judging Reed's remainder on the disaster in Texas is playing Fantasy Football.
Teams should be lining up to put claims on him, then.
They are not friends....
As evidenced by their bro-hugs before and after the Texans game? In addition to numerous times when he actually was a Raven.

Co-inky-dink that right after he slams the coaching staff and players he gets a pink slip?
Baltimore put up with "Ed being Ed" because of the player he was and the weight he carried. Houston just saw an overpaid, vaguely injured, non-productive whiner and cut him loose. If Ed would have played it smart and kept quiet, he could have earned his way through more of that contract - you know, the reason he left Baltimore in the first place ($$$).
I knew he would be most valuable here but how could anyone see that fall from grace?
Yes, the first three games of the 2012 season.

What a dope. Thank you
Vikings WR Jerome Simpson was arrested for a DWI charge. He was arrested when he refused a breathalyzer and was booked at 5:39a.m.
This will not be good for Simpson as he was put on 3-year probation in April 2012 after he pleaded guilty to a felony drug charge.

Was he suspended by the league for the drug thing? I'm too lazy to look it up lol. If so he will probably suspended again
Yes. It's nice in some aspects but for anyone on the East Coast it sucks.
And watching football on NFL Network only sucks; even worse than Monday night football on ESPN
What's worse? The theme song or the lame announcing?
It's probably Cursona Pirate lol
There can only be so many in MD
That bus boy though. Never seen someone so passionate about their job.
He wanted to be a pirate so badly ![]()
Man, I was watching one earlier and it was hilarious. It was located in silver springs md and it was a pirate themed tavern. Jon transformed it and made it look really good and had it booming. Then I read that the owner tore it all down within 24 hours to switch it back. At the end it said she still lives in her parents basement with her husband and daughter.
People are crazy!
LOL best episode. Jon Taffer is going to pop a vein one day.
I can't stop laughing at Aldon Smith what a clown.
And people say the NFL is strict?
The logo on the helmet will never be seen on a Ravens uniform again due to the copyright lawsuits.
Either way, I think the team made a good decision to distance itself from that overall design. Maybe in 30 years the current unis will be throwback - the Ravens have only existed for <20.
Great post, Tarantino movies are just so grittySo I just had a Quentin Taratino friday.. I watched Resevoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown.. how each movie is shot, and the open ended meanings Taratino has you try and grasp is really a brilliant work of art.. everything always comes round circle even with his mashed up sequence of events, and how he portrays time.
Two of my all time favorite Characters in his movies is Brad Pitt in Inglorius Bas_______... and Winston Wolfe in Pulp Fiction.
"You can be a character, but that doesnt mean you have character"
and for the District 9 debate...horrendous movie..conjouring was better..I think.
If it makes you feel better the difference separating teams from 10-20 is not much at all. A lot of the teams came out very similarly in my rankings and I used who had the better QB to tiebreak if scores were the same.
A little lol. We all know Brady would get the favorable calls, too
Just missed the top half darn.
I don't think my secondary is that bad but my OL is cringe inducing.
I also have the Nebraskan Assassin, the Cornhole Master Cornhusker, the multi-talented beast known as Sam Koch. Punters are people too

I agree and I'm no real fan of it. I just hear Seth Macfarlane doing his different accents with some uninspired, stolen characters.
