Like I said before, Garcon played in an offense that was up there with some of the passing offenses in the league and ranked 2nd in the league and 3rd overall offensively. Comparitevly Britt played in an offense that ranked as the 31st ranked passing attack and 32nd ranked offense as a hole. I'll also keep in mind that Kirk Cousins is light years better than anyone the Rams have. I like Garcon, but it's like if Julian Edelman were to come here from New England, that's nice but is he going to be better here than what he was with New England? I could certainly say that in our case, we would get a much better Kenny Britt from LA coming here and that's taking into account his impressive season.

You make a compelling case. I guess it's just something I 'feel' - take that for what it's worth, not much.

Britt is not coming here on a 1 year, he's cashing out as he should. 1000 yards on a dreadful offense like that is what I would consider to be impressive. He fits everything the Ravens are missing in a #1 starting WR and that's a chain moving physical presence who can be an asset in the Red-zone.

As far as Wallace goes, he's not expensive but I wouldn't call him cheap either going into this season. At $8M his cap hit is decent but with $6M cap savings it makes it a rather difficult decision to digest. Furthermore I would say that Wallace replacement is already on the roster, Perriman can be that deep threat for you but it's apparent that the Ravens are banking on him being more than that, they said he's not ready for a #1 WR role at the moment, but he'll probably move into the #2 role going into next season.. The Ravens need something that Wallace can't provide and that's a chain moving prototypical possession WR that we're trying to replace with losing Steve Smith Sr.

Not on board with Britt at all but I can buy your reasoning with Wallace. The Ravens sent Boldin packing for that much.

you dont see a guy coming from his blind side and 1 coming up the middle at pretty much the same right after he was done with his drop?
not sure where you wanted him climb the pocket to be honest, nor did i see anyone open , nor do i think its a wise idea to attempt a pass while going backwards with a defender all over you.
i mean you actually see a defender running to the sidelines so throwing it away seems very risky....

but before we continue i would like to know if you guys actually believe what you are saying.

cause i dont want to hear any troll accusations every time i bring this up when flacco is under pressure and its a negative play.
lord knows if we loose wagner and dont upgrade this o-line its bound to happen with marty pass happy ways.

if you guys actually think that a split second is enough to see pressure , evade and make a decision to throw it all within that time span then i can live that.

He had space if he would've stepped forward rather than run to his right. He out-ran his blocker and it got him hit. The defender in the middle was being double-teamed and was neutralized, his blind-side rusher was on the ground.

As to anyone being open, that's on play-design/selection and the WRs I guess.

Can see it again from this angle - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7JH-Newv6Y

Outside of turning the ball over, the last thing the Falcons could afford was a 12-yard sack. For great plays made (or disasterous plays avoided) under pressure in a Super Bowl, look no further than your boy Joe Flacco! At the 1:47, 4:39, and 9:04 marks - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKNj4XHGDv0

I think that it IS enough time to react to the pressure, yes, we see this all the time in the NFL. It's almost instinctual with these guys, sometimes. Is it fair to ask or could I expect to do it? Absolutely not. You always hear it's a game of inches, though.

Since I've advocated the Ravens trading back in the first I went ahead and did a first round trade in this one. In This scenario Miami gave us their first and second to go up for Barnett. This would be like an absolute best case scenario for our draft, and probably impossible.

Round 1 Pick 22 (MIA): Dan Feeney, OG, Indiana (B)
Round 2 Pick 15: Charles Harris, DE, Missouri (A)
Round 2 Pick 22 (MIA): Adoree' Jackson, CB, Southern California (B+)
Round 3 Pick 14: Alvin Kamara, RB, Tennessee (A+)
Round 3 Pick 36: Jaleel Johnson, DT, Iowa (A-)
Round 4 Pick 16: Isaiah Ford, WR, Virginia Tech (A+)
Round 5 Pick 15: John Johnson, FS, Boston College (A)
Round 6 Pick 14: Jalen Myrick, CB, Minnesota (B)
    Round 7 Pick 16: C.J. Beathard, QB, Iowa (B-)

I agree with the trade-back in that it allows us to nail some top needs with high picks like you did here.

But if a valuable corner is there at 16, I think they fall over themselves turning in the card. Which is the right choice, imo.

Doing backflips. 2 legit O-line starters with the best playmaking CB my favorite non 1st rd WR 2 solid rushers and my favorite RB in the draft. My only thought is Jones going by the 3rd comp at the latest ad while Wilson isn't my favorite CB I would take him although in that 3rd comp-4th round pick I like Kazee from San Diego St. Or Corn Elder from Miami better

True, my amateur eye did not like what I saw from Kpassagnon at the Senior Bowl, either. He may be overdrafted but 5th-6th round wouldn't be bad for him.

This was the point I was making, whether the play calling was correct or not they put it in his hands and the rest was history. I do not understand what there is to talk about? #1 offense, MVP of the regular season, Pats dared the Falcons to beat them with Ryan.

And by the way, I do not have access to advanced stats unfortunately but one thing I did find interesting is that a couple of years ago with a worse offensive line Ryans average time in the pocket before being sacked/releasing the ball/ or running out the pocket was 2.73 seconds.

That's a fair point. Ryan was probably on board with being aggressive - maybe even encouraged in as Joe has done in the past - but when he got that pressure up that middle, he panicked, ran the wrong way, and held the ball longer than he should. Then the series of plays that pushed them out of FG range where he can be heard mic'd up saying 'What the [Falcon], guys, did you hold?' as they shot themselves in the foot again.

Can't really blame him for the sack-fumble. His RB whiffed and Ryan didn't even see the guy.

The tax argument is only valid for the 8 home games players have. NFL players have to file taxes in each of the 8 states their away games are in each year. It's not where you live but where you earn the income that determines who collects taxes.

This is true though I don't know if they get checks throughout the weeks of OTAs, training camp, etc. Half their game checks will (hypothetically) be out of state.

  8. Patriots basically have all of their draft picks - 1st (32), 2nd (32), 3rd (32), 4th (24), 5th (19), and 7th (21) are available for trade.

Also, whichever compensatory pick Cleveland gets for losing Alex Mack (it was traded to the Patriots for Jamie Collins). Projected to be a 3rd or 4th rounder.

I have some talks going - you know who you are - but the Patriots need some help at CB and DL

I just realized.  We would've given up the worst lead, up until the Falcons.  We would have been cheering the Falcons collapse, just the football world would be mocking the 08 draft class.  As you said good thing WE don't have to worry about that though.

Yup, ours was 22. I still subscribe to the flimsy/joke excuse that the power outage was done to make the game competitive again lol.

We had left the SB 51 party early, assuming the game was over after the failed onsides kick towards the end of the 3rd quarter - we had to make a long drive. Streamed the rest in the car and, man, were we wrong.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference between a secondary coach and a defensive backs coach?

    I have the same question.

Maybe one coaches schemes and the other focuses on technique?

Honestly couldn't tell you... those two words are synonymous in my book.

Skins stadium opened in 1997.   It was designed after the meadowlands and rushed to complete so jack Kent Cooke could see it finished.  He never saw a game played there as he passed away before the season began.

Its an awful stadium and he needs a new stadium. Probably the worst in the league.

Is it sad I looked that up and legitimately thought 1997 was 10 years ago? Getting old!
